Tue Jun 21, 2022 6:41 pmIt was taking more and more effort for Roji to keep up his facade. The ex-revolutionary had not expected Kernel to be as strong as he was. It was hard for Roji to believe that the scrawny and socially awkward man that he once knew had become such a threat.
While Roji was still catching his breath from their last exchange, Kernel was seemingly fine. “What’ve you been doing bro? How have you gotten so strong since the last time we met? It doesn’t make any sense!”
Kernel laughed in response, “I haven’t been sitting on my ass since you left us back home. Get it through your head, There are no shortcuts to getting stronger!”
Thanks to Kernel’s [dass]unasked for[cmt]I think the word you're looking for here is "unsolicited". Perhaps just like my comment. Lmao.[/cmt][/dass] wisdom Roji was not prepared for his attack. A swift backhand caused Roji to drop his guard. As Roji tried to regain control of his movement Kernel grabbed one of his wrists and jumped up into the air, dragging Roji with him. When Kernel reached the peak of his jump he lifted Roji over his head and threw him back down to the floor.
The impact of this attack in particular hurt a lot more than the others, like Kernel was only now beginning to try and fight back for real. With his spirits thoroughly dampened, Roji only had one option left. It was time for him to drop all pretenses himself. The only way out of circumstances such as these is to swallow his pride and fight a little dirty. The only real hits he had gotten in were from his sand grenade and if he was to fight as honorably as Kernel wanted him to there was little hope of victory.
Luckily, Kernel did not continue his attack right away. Which gave Roji ample time to collect himself and take out his tonfa once again. Now on the offensive, Roji swiped wildly with the tonfas, knowingly letting Kernel stay out of range. Once he had figured that his cousin would not be expecting any more trickery he enacted his hastily put together plan.
Halfway through his final swing, Roji extended his tonfa to its full length of six feet. Kernel’s expression changed from smug to angry yet again upon the realization that he had been fooled twice now. Putting all of his body weight into the swing, Roji aimed right for Kernel’s face.
“You little fucker, My nose is bleeding’ now!” Kernel reached into his back pocket, pulling out a large switchblade. Roji immediately jumped back, but it was too late to avoid the first couple of slashes. Roji extended his other tonfa and began to spin them to ward off the attacks and stabs that came after.
Once his attacks were starting to get deflected, Kernel quit his assault and pursuit of his younger cousin. The orange haired bruiser even put away his blade and crossed his arms. Roji looked over his injuries, noticing many small cuts that ripped through his shirt. In disgust, Roji took off the garb, leaving it to hang off of him due to still being tied at the waist.
Roji spun his tonfa wildly while looking right through Kernel, “I actually liked this one, aren’t you taking this a little too far?”
Kernel cracked his knuckles before launching himself into a sprint, “Quit stalling for time, we both know you’re only getting what you deserve.”

The Heart's of Men
The blood lost from losing his arm began to affect Mort's movements. The only thing that kept his morale high and his fangs sharp was the image of his sister on repeat in his thoughts.
Burgandy spots riddled the courtyard's tiles, and a top-down view of the floor could've been compared to an eclectic artist's abstract portrait with primary-colored dots.
"Unfortunately. Your sister is just collateral damage in my eyes. I won't apologize for any of my actions... They all led me to this throne. However, I will carry your sister's will in my heart."
Castor's words struck a nerve in Mort, with a quick step in, he'd condense his Haki remaining arm to seal a hit on Nox's chin. However, it was a bait and kill attempt by the pirate Captain that ended with several electrical bolts piercing Mort's body in a spike-like manner.
As the lightning barbecued Mort's chest to charcoal black, the scent of cooked fleshed filled the Revolutionary's nostrils with a nauseating aroma. Swinging blindly, Nox side-stepped the attempt, sheathing his blade with the tattered bandages on its hilt.
Resting it horizontally against clips on his kimono's back, Castor continued to avoid the man's feeble sequence of attacks. "This is pointless." Castor responded in annoyance at the man's tenacity.
As electricity swarmed around his body, Castor released a powerful pillar of electricity which sent Mort flying towards the tables on the other side of the courtyard.
"What drives you to continue fighting me in this state?!" Nox barked.
Rising from the debris of the crushed tables, "To destroy evil, of course. You called my sister collateral damage... That's your ideal. I won't try to change you.
With power like yours... I would've changed the world for the better.
You chose to bend everything that's not in your favor with violence... I couldn't let these people of Lvneel suffer through that." Mort explained, digging into his top pocket for a cigar that was now lit from Castor's onslaught.
Taking two puffs on the cigar, Mort removed another controller he had stored away in his jacket. "I'll let you choose Nox. This controller I have in my hand has already been detonated. We've been fighting for about twenty minutes... You have around ten minutes left.
The explosives I've placed within the castle... I installed similar ones within the heart of Asgar.
Who will you save? Members of the court or the very people you view as tools to manipulate-" Mort's ultimatum was interrupted by one swift step from Castor that severed his head in one swing.
"Disappointing. Such a waste of energy.Castor declared in disgust. "Your response to 'fixing' my evil was responding with your act of evil. I allowed this to continue for this long to see your way of living... but all you showed me was more evidence...
To the essence of mankind." Castor concluded, wiping the blood off his blade. Digging into his kimono, Castor removed a Baby Den Den Mushi, calling Newport within the city.
"Ah. Newport. The city's gonna blow up in about eight minutes. I'll deal with the situation at the Castle... I'm leaving the city to you. Find the bombs and disarm them." Castor commanded.
A drunken Newport answered and responded, "EH!?".

Wed Jun 22, 2022 6:50 pmKnowing that he didn’t have the time or energy to flee from Kernel’s attacks, Roji only had one option, to see the fight through to the end. Within seconds Kernel was within range to begin throwing flurries of jabs, hooks, and occasional uppercuts. Despite his injuries Roji had completely abandoned all attempts at defending himself. Causing both men to launch an endless assault on each other, albeit with one of the participants being able to put in way more effort.
After a short while, Roji was starting to lose steam while Kernel only showed a few signs of relenting at all. [dass]The ex-revolutionary mounted one, final, attack[cmt]I'm honestly kinda thrown-off by how quickly Roji went from an active revolutionary to an "ex-revolutionary". Earlier in the thread, Roji's narration clearly suggested that he was specifically betraying Mort because Mort seemed to be going rogue. Sobering up slightly, "Run that by me again pipsqueak?" Newport inquired.
"The Revolutionary Army has planted and activated a timer for bombs within the capital and castle. We have less than nine minutes to disarm them. I'll deal with the Castle. Focus on finding as many as you can in the town." Castor reiterated.
Sighing in annoyance, "I take my eyes off you for one day... Read books in the library he said... Fuck. How did you end up making the NRA an enemy!? Those fucks are crazier than the fury pricks from Las Camp." Newport barked in disdain.
Hanging up the line, Nox turned to locate the bombs within the confines of his new turf walls.

Random Back Water Brothel
Releasing the grip he'd have tenderly wrapped around his purchases neck, Newport rose from the bed of eight and bid the ladies a sorrow-filled goodbye.
Pissed, he'd reach for his sailor jacket and shuffle down the brothel house stairs his brain in overdrive on how to locate these so-called bombs that were planted with the Captial, which wasn't exactly a small place.
Yawning, "Think Newport... If I was a terrorist-hungry asswipe... Where would I hide a shitload of explosives?" The Veteran Pirate pondered internally. Then, an idea just came across Newport's mind.
Meanwhile, in the Castle, Castor's injuries from the previous fight reopened. Blood began to soak the bandages, especially around his midsection and shoulder. However, tapping into his Goro Goro no Mi's radar, he'd begin to shuffle through noises in an attempt to locate the subtle gears turning within the bombs.
Rethinking the kind of explosives Mort used, Nox began to think less mechanical and more fuse base. With that breakthrough, he'd zeroed in on the sound of a lit fuse, which seemed to be coming from within the Queen's Chambers.
"Well. Paku Paku Paku" Castor laughed aloud in a pissed-off manner, launching off in lightning form towards the Queen's room. [ass=I hope this is just going through a single wall and not travelling along walls. Castle stone would be a very poor conductor. Travelling through the castle by using stone walls like wires does not add up.]Traveling like an electrical current through the stone walls[/ass], within seconds he'd appear by the Queen's bedside where Bearington and her brothers guarded the Queen to be from Kernel's onslaught of grunts.
However, Bearington had finished beheading the last of the assailants and was shocked when Castor's aura appeared in the room.
"MY KING- I mean... Lord Duke. You're injured!" Bearington exclaimed, quickly correcting his error.
"No time." Nox declared shuffled around Annabelle's bed sheets, tossing the woman onto the ground. Cutting through with Zaigo, the incased container of dynamite continued to burn, moments from detonation.

Kernel slowly walked towards his former brother in arms, “I don’t know what you wanted to achieve by getting back up, but you didn't make the wisest decision here.”
The ex-revolutionary was not too surprised when Kernel lunged at him once more, though he was caught off guard on just how much faster Kernel was now compared to the start of their bout.
Roji’s final stand was concocted with even more false bravado than before. His self-taught martial arts were of no use when defending against Kernel’s ferocious barrage of punches, With almost all of them hitting Roji square in his midsection. The collection of strikes felt endless before eventually slowing down and stopping completely once Kernel had thoroughly tired himself out. Kernel backed up a couple of steps and watched Roji attempt to catch his breath.
Bloodied and barely conscious, Roji still stood tall. Fearing that any movement would cause him to fall back down he refused to even lift his head before speaking, “Are you satisfied yet? None of this will change what happened, it wasn’t even my fault in the first place—”
Unsheathing his knife, Kernel swiped diagonally across Roji’s chest. Even more, blood erupted out, coating the Castle’s floor a dark crimson. Stumbling due to the sudden slash, Roji fell forward and collapsed on the floor. Kernel stood over Roji, bloody knife still in hand, and prepared to finish the job.
But he didn’t. Despite being his goal for so long and with victory now in hand it all felt hollow. This was supposed to be a climactic battle between two former friends turned enemies, not some one-sided beating. Cursing under his breath, Kernel cleaned off his knife and placed it back in its sheath.
Leaving Roji on the ground, Kernel went over to his subordinate and picked him up, putting him back on his shoulder. As this was happening Roji was teetering on the edge of passing out or staying awake. When Kernel took one final glance at Roji, he noticed that he hadn’t bled out yet, “Don’t think this is over quite so soon. I just want you to lose when we are on equal footing.”
Based on the sound of footsteps Roji assumed that Kernel was leaving the Castle, but the only thing that the novice doctor could think about was how his wounds were going to be treated. It would be impossible to operate on himself in his condition. Fighting off the urges of sleep, Roji began to drag himself across the floor. In search of anyone else who happened to still be nearby.

Or so it seemed.
A black panel attached to the packaged dynamite activated with a sequence of bright green numbers which counted down from three minutes.
Castor's eyes fastened onto the set of dynamite once again, this time with a look of dismay.
Sheathing his weapon and lifting the Queen sized bed off the ground, Castor bolted through the window of the chambers, sending shards of heated fractured glass everywhere.
Hovering sky-bound, Nox darted towards the sea where the visage and aura of Newport could've been sensed in the distance. In one jolt, he'd match the helmsman's location, which he maintained by propelling himself with powerful successive kicks.
With a shout of shock and a cartoonish bulge of the eyes, Castor was incredibly shocked at Newport's technique. [dass]"Here I'm thinking you're such a feeble old man. Where did you learn such skills?"[cmt]Shame. Just when I thought you were doing some interesting buildup for a long-term payoff by having Newport hide his ability from Castor, you spoil it in the very next scene.[/cmt][/dass] Nox inquired suspiciously and formally.
"An old bulldog such as myself gotta have a few tricks tucked. Focus. That timer on yours is saying we got forty-five minutes left. I was gonna fling them into the sea and hope for the best." Newport declared.
"Eh. I'm not sure you know or care but an explosion of this size near the shore will completely disrupt the Never mind. Ill handle this myself. Toss the explosives as high as you can directly above you." Nox commanded, morphing into an elemental state and encasing his stack of explosives and Newport's own in electricity.
The encasement of lightning transformed into a massive obsidian black sphere of electricity. The sheer mass of the ball of energy consumed the dynamite causing them to detonate within the electrical prison.
To the countrymen below the display in the sky would be akin to a firework show, which is what most of the locals in the capital throughout the boom in the sky were.
At the castle, the remnants of Mort's men were captured by Castor's guard. All that was left to be resolved was the scuffle between Roji and Kernel. Using a formation, the Knights created a wall locking Kernel, what remained of his followers, and Roji at its center.
Boss of the Knight's Guard, Sir Bearington emerged. [dass]"You lot are all under arrest for terrorism against the crown of Lvneel. Any resistance will lead us to have to resistance resort to violence."[cmt]Lmao, and you might've killed Roji's potential longer-term plot in the crib too.[/cmt][/dass] Bearington declared, tugging on his blade's hilt with a wide grin.
