After years of having grown up without a steady home or a parental figure, Annabelle grew up to be a spiteful child. Seeing as no one wanted to become fully responsible for her, she was quick to see how differently she was treated compared to the other children. She watched as the adults would spoil their own children while giving her leftovers or even ignoring her completely. This made Annabelle quite angry and upset as she couldn’t understand why this was happening.
Due to this, after several years of trying to be kind, Annabelle realized that things were never going to change if she didn’t fight back. Annabelle began to become more aggressive when things didn’t go her way to the point she’d throw tantrums or even threaten adults with her leopard form. Adults began to distance themselves from her which further egged Annabelle on. Seeing as they were willing to hand things over when she became feral, Annabelle took it as a step in the right direction.
Annabelle’s preferred method of fighting tends to focus on speed rather than strength. This is especially true when she is alone due to her leopard form still being that of a young cub. However, when a situation arises where a fight is unavoidable, Annabelle tends to go all in. Morphing into her snow leopard form, she bites, scratches, and attempts to do as much damage as she can before attempting her escape.
Due to her trauma, Annabelle isn’t always willing to protect the weak. She believes that only the strong or intelligent will survive. Therefore, if someone isn’t willing to go above and beyond, Annabelle will not hesitate to leave them behind. As far as Annabelle is concerned, staying behind will often lead to death or worse. Therefore, she will not hold it against anyone if she ends up being the one who is left behind.

Unbeknownst to her, Annabelle was born to a slave who fled from captivity during the winter months of 1822. The child had just passed her second birthday when her mother caught wind of a potential buyer for the young child. Fearing the worst, the woman took the decision to plot her escape along with a few other fellow slaves. They risked the possibility of death but they were determined. It took them a few months of preparation but, once they were all satisfied that they could do no more, they set their camp on fire and fled in the middle of the chaos. Unfortunately, the slave owners had been previously tipped off and they set out immediately to find the fugitives.
As Annabelle’s mother was at a disadvantage, she broke off from the group and fled towards the harbor. She had planned to hide in the midst of the cargo with Annabelle but a few sailors had spotted her and were creating a commotion. As this caught the slave owner’s attention, Annabelle’s mother took the risk to leave the baby behind within a crate and lead them away from the child. Fortunately for Annabelle, she was left undiscovered and hauled onto the ship. She would sail away unknowing of what had occurred the previous night nor had she any recollection of what she was doing on the ship. All she knew was that she was alone in the dark with no one in sight.
Feeling hungry and overwhelmed, Annabelle would cry out causing the sailors to search around for the child. It would take a long time until they found her but, when they would finally approach, they would discover her curled in a fetal position with her tail wrapped all around her. She would be lying there in an empty crate which had once carried their precious cargo. The sailors were left divided on what to do as there was no way to know who the mother of the child actually was or how she had gotten on board. They could only assume it was the woman from the day before but they were unwilling to go back. Thus, they decided to leave her at the next port city.
At their first stop in Orange Town, Annabelle would be left abandoned on the streets where she would remain and grow up. The town folks would feed her regularly and treat her like a pet; being passed around from time to time. She would become familiar with the spots she liked as well as the places that she could remain in for a few days. It helped that she was small and there was plenty of food to give out. However, it would all change when Annabelle’s outbursts began to turn more feral and strange.
As time went on, Annabelle began to grow more aggressive with how she handled things. Instead of quietly waiting for things to be given or offered to her, she began to demand them and morph into a snow leopard when things didn’t go her way. As this went on, the town folks began to alienate her and attempt to shoo her away. Unfortunately, things didn’t go their way as she would go on rampages which terrorized them. Eventually, they would grow tired of her and, unbeknownst to her, sell her off to slave traders that had arrived to the area.
