Kaia J. Daisuke
Basic Character Information
Starting Bonus: Jackpot! | [Starting Bonus Roll]
First Name: Kaia
Middle Name/Initial: J
Last Name: Daisuke
Epithet:
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Faction: Pirate
Profession:
- Marksman/Bodyguard:
- First and foremost, Kaia is a terrific shot with her pistol. She's alright with other stuff, but she used to earn her living doing trick shots before moving up to the bodyguard business.
- Thief:
- Not quite a pirate. Not simple thuggery. The elegant profession of thievery. Sadly for her, she has trouble assuming that stuff she wants isn't her's. She hasn't done much in here, but she has earned a pretty penny stealing a few big time items.
Physical Appearance
Height: Five feet even
Weight: 98 pounds
Hair Style: Short
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Green
Scars: None
Clothing and Accessories: The two things to notice on first glance is the simple hat upon her head and the two belts on her hips. Hanging off of one belt is a pair of simple pouches, large enough to carry a small notebook and a few other choice items. Upon the other belt is a holster with a few slots for holding spare ammo; the holster being where she normally keeps her revolver. A marvelous piece of the time. Faster and more precise than a mere flintlock. While it lacks the complete destructive nature of a larger ball, it is the price to pay for speed and precision. Now the hat itself is nothing more than a crutch. She uses a notch in the brim to assist with her aiming. She doesn't need it, but it helps. Other than that she wears a simple white blouse, cut short to expose her middrift and hips. Her pants, held up by suspenders, aren't really that special either.
Description: Standing at five feet even with dark skin, she generally has an unassuming figure hidden beneath the clothes, but in truth the girl herself is actually pretty muscular. Tending to her body through intense workout to make up for her rather obvious height disadvantage. She has short black-blue hair. In the chest and hip departments, she is certainly lacking a bit upstairs compared to other girls, however her hips don't lie.~
The Past
Main Traits: Loyal, Hot Headed, Excitable, Stubborn
Likes: Guns, Games, Good food, Money, Friends, Heists, Cooking
Dislikes: Being called short, Bladed weapons, Dentists, Acidic fruit, Babies, Blutness
Hometown: Spider Miles
Personality: Kaia is known to be extremely loyal to those she calls friends, usually going far enough to put them in priority over people she's taking jobs for. However it would be a bit hard to get her to warm up to them. Underneath what one may call a "tsundere" exterior she's actually pretty fun-loving and loves her work and hobbies. She has a rough temper and tends to get a bit violent if someone makes an inappropriate crack at her. One rough subject for her is her height; mentioning it is a quick way to get on her angry side.
In battle the girl is calm. Usually. Fighting is a dance to her. Planning her next move. Trying to figure out her opponent's move before they make it so she'll know where to aim. She's the same way when it takes more than two to tango, but that's just more people to keep track of. She also seems to sometimes try to avoid taking a life if she can while she fights; though it's not exactly something that can always be avoided with her weapon.
- History:
A simple life. A simple time. Kaia didn't do a whole lot growing up. She lived with her father, a gunmaker, who lived on Spider Miles his whole life. Her mother was never in the picture. She didn't know a whole lot about her, father never talked. When she wasn't busy watching him work, she'd leave and explore the industrial junkyard of the city or practice shooting. However times were tough. The home needed more money, so the kid had to work a bit herself.
Wake up in the morning. Worked herself to a nice sweat. Then relax out in the junkyard practicing her aim. This was her days. She normally worked hauling scrap out to the junkyard for the older folks. It was decent work. Decent, but boring. Starting at the age of fourteen, Kaia had ended up lying about her age to take up work as a hired gun off of the island, on another place. A town called Notice. She was working for some restaurant.
Some fancy, boring dinner with some marines. All she had to do was stand guard by the door and make sure no one suspicious entered. It worked. She was paid. Decently, almost made the boat ride here worth it. However before she left, she decided to go back and give them the heads up that she was leaving. That's when she saw it. Death. For the first time. The man she worked for, murdered. Against the wall. Kaia had quickly left after discovering it, notifying the family and apologizing before she left the restaurant.
She sent the money home but decided to stay in the town for a while longer, enjoying the.. Beauty of it, not ruined by the smog. Or the trash. Or the scrap everywhere. Kaia had also heard that the other owner of the restaurant, the mother, had been accused of money laundering. While she didn't hear what had happened to the child who was also there; there was some rumors around the town about the marines being behind it. It almost made Kaia mad. What? They didn't enjoy the food? So they kill the whole family? It didn't seem right. However, due to convenience, something had caught her eye.
A sparkling emerald! Dazzling! Twinkling! Green! thicker than her thumb! She had never even SEEN anything like it before! She wanted it. But she assumed it'd be way out of her price range. In fact, it wasn't even for sale! It was in a museum. However, she wanted it. And she was going to get it. One way or another.
And which way did she chose? She was gonna STEAL it! Like a true thief! Why did she decide on this? She wasn't sure. Partially to get back at the government for killing her first employer she had to protect. Partially because she simply wanted the jewel. It took her time. Days. Nearing a couple of weeks of watching and waiting. She understood the guard routes at night. She watched the janitors move in and out. She had to first deal with the bars holding it in place at night then deal with the glass. Fortunately she had an idea.
Shimmying down a rope from the roof wasn't the best option, clad in black - her face covered with a mask. She pulled out the gun her father made her and.. BANG!
She had a plan. It wasn't a smart plan. A smash and grab! Shoot the loot free, grab it, and run! Of course she set off alarms, what place wouldn't have an alarm on a jewel like that! The guards came rushing in but by time they had left, Kaia had been climbing out the way she came! A short chase later, and she was free! Free with the loot! It was so exciting! So thrilling! Absolutely wonderful! And the gem was so! So..
...
So.. Dull. It looked boring now. Not as shiny as it once was. That wasn't good.
From here she felt herself addicted to the thrill of it. The fun. The adrenaline of the chase. The fighting! Sometimes she'd take up guard jobs to simply case the place before returning to leave with the prize; which she would normally sell when all was said and done. She continued to send money back home. This continued for four years, the girl amassing herself quite a fortune and infamy before she decided to head back home. Sadly, there'd not be a happy reunion. Her father had been murdered. She didn't know by who. She didn't know what for. It had happened a year ago when he refused to make a weapon for a customer.
She stayed in Spider Miles for a year longer before she decided to head off again, packing her things onto a passing merchant's ship and leaving; heading out into the world alone at the ripe age of nineteen. This is where Kaia's adventure begins.
