Lazarus D. Eon
'History has always been in the hands of the victor. And if that's the case, the only thing separating the World Government from the Rebels of the World is acquisition of power. With enough power, even villains will age into heroes. '
Basic Character Information
Starting Bonus: Super Rookie| [Starting Bonus Roll]
First Name: Lazarus
Middle Name/Initial: D.
Last Name: Eon
Epithet: Northern Star
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Faction: Pirate
Profession: Martial Artist | Historian
Physical Appearance
Height: 5'8 ft.
Weight:
Hair Style: Spiky Hair - Short
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Sky Blue
Scars: Along Chest & Across Arms
Clothing and Accessories:
As for Lazarus general appearance, he wears a combination of things but his true fascination and love truly comes in his need to wear hoodies and jackets, even in warmer climates. Eon's main outfit lies in the following: black or white underdress shirt, overcoat - which either consists of a jacket or a hoodie, long joggers or jeans and wooden sandals. The most outstanding element of Lazarus's attire is his custom purple googles that he wears on his forehead. There's no deep sentimental value really behind the googles, he just thinks that googles and glasses in general, make the person look cooler. Similar to his Master Lazarus Senior, he was wears beads around his wrists as a form of spiritual respect for the dead, three in number, one for his mother, another for his Father and another for his master, each coloured Blue, Red and Gold respectively.
Description:
Due to the beatings and teachings of his Sensei, Lazarus' body is fine tuned machine, and sculpted quite lean for his 5'8 figure. Lazarus is pretty much a looker to the eye of the opposite sex and would be even more so if he'd kept his appearance trimmed as told in the past. However, his main focus is in staying shape, practicing his martial arts frequently to make sure his body stays toned. Lazarus doesn't have any tattoos as yet, but if he eventually got a crew tag, he'd place it on his right arm.
The Past
Main Traits:
Calculated: Most of his moves are very much decided before hand in his mind down to each breath taken in any situation. He doesn't like winging things off the top of his head, actually, when asked about an issue he has no interest or knowledge on, he'll outright admit his ignorance to avoid offending anyone and secondly, embarrassing himself. Most the time, he'll avoid fighting if need be, it's all about conserving time to do what he truly desires.
Adventurous: The Will he's inherited fuels Lazarus interests in people and culture, often blending in as a tourist as long as he can before making his presence being known. Dark Caverns, Ridiculously Steep Hills or even swimming ocean to ocean, nothing thrills Eon more than being able to experience new people and places in the blink of an eye. It's because of this, Eon doesn't get attached to anything for too long, understanding that much like knowledge, it's meant to be passed on.
Altruistic: Whether it be forfeiting his name or dedicating himself to his mother's 'Will', Lazarus has the tendency to find his fulfilment in other people's dreams, not having dreams of his own aside from staying alive. For a long time, he'd made up in his mind he'd probably die at a young age, and never gave much thought to his trajectory in life until Lazarus Senior showed him a new way to step. He'd give of himself to marine, foe or pirate, ranking or titles doesn't really mean much to him, his main concern lies with completing milestones entrusted to him.
Coquettish: Information has always been a major thing in his life and when it comes to women, men often have a weak spot for the opposite sex or their affections. Lazarus learned to be flirtatious with women from a very young age, whether it be to provide him with food, shelter, protection or emotional gratitude. For him, it's not so much a perversion but more, being a gentleman who could swindle the truth from anyone, whether it be via wit or his silver tongue.
Mysterious: Everything about the way he speaks and explains things can alter from being blatantly 'straight' or immensely, 'complex'. These two keys words are the foundation of Lazarus's manner of speech, he'd answer questions that aren't too revealing in nature quite boldly and bluntly but when it comes to compromising situations, where things could go south quite quickly, he'll opt for a vague and less transparent response towards the issue. It's not so much about the 'why' and more so about the 'how' he'll get an objective accomplished with a wide variety of quick hand tricks and parlour skills that allow him to assimilate almost flawlessly.

Personality:
Lazarus is the fly on the wall in most social setups when it comes to observing behaviour at first. After achieving a profile of your personality type, he'll ultimately decide how much of himself he's willing to reveal to you. Whether that be his life long journey to complete his mother's bucklist book recommendations or the fact he doesn't drink his coffee with any sugar in it. Known to be a huge flirt with women, his Silver Tongue is enough to make it out of most situations before the fists start throwing wildly. Eon's mannerism in terms of speech is very Standard, with little variation or usage of slang words, however, it's purely a lure for people to expect much from his words, holding them as wisdom, most of which, he'll opt for silence. To those he's very fond of, he's extremely clear in the way he speaks, often explaining the reason behind his actions and behaviour. However, strangers beware, Lazarus would sell you a pipe dream and flee if need be, he's no saint dressed in all white.
He'll often be seen reading books on a variety of areas, nothing really matters to him as long as the story is coherent. In combat, he abandons his hobby and is constantly watching his opponents and surroundings, waiting to make the right play or action. Despite his calm demeanour, in battle, he's there's nothing laid back about him, he attacks once he's found the most effective manner in combatting the situation at hand, and spends more time, finishing off his prey with quick death strokes, almost as quick as a shooting star some would say. Brash, he's not much of a shit talker albeit, he's known to enjoy a fight and often quotes various books and authors subjective to the situation at hand.
- History:
- Act I - The Man Named Lazarus :
It was a usual Winter Island day on Minion, a bunch of Rowdy Pirates visited. This conversation forever changed the lives of two men, one child and one adolescence. Dressed in long flowing brown robes, a hazel eyed man standing at about seven foot tall approached a young, homeless and tattered looking orphan who sat curled up in a ball in front of an abandoned home, an area on Minion known to be a ghost town by most. Being Pirates, the Rowdy Bunch took up housing in this area, where there Captain, found a small boy. "Rishi Rishi..." the man would exclaim, walking towards the orphan who dazed in a world of his own, compelled by his own hunger and ruin. The boy was a runt, no more than three feet, for the climate, he was poorly clothed, wearing a dingy fur-coat and closely fitting jogger pants, with no shoes. "I knew I'd find you here." the man exclaimed. For a minute, the boy didn't say anything, furthermore, he didn't even look in the direction of the Pirate Captain. He'd seen many of his kind before, they'd been drunk out of their minds and wondered to this part of town and the first thing they'll do is decide to mess with the street urchins. Peering up from his huddle state, his head between his legs, shivering to keep warm, the child with the blandest expression ever would responded, "Look Mister. If you're looney offa whatever you been drinking... Leave me out of it." he'd then proceed to inspect the man from head to toe. He had an odd smell, not horrendous or putrid but in a positive manner, his aroma smelt of various oils and plants, he'd remember visiting Gypsies or Seekers having similar scents from his time in Flevance. The man towered over him, though, compared to the rest of his men off in the distance, the Captain looked like a runt, as most of his crewmates were either ten feet or more. "Rishi Rishi... I guess it seems I'm odd for talking to an orphan boy on a street corner." the Captain responded. Huddling next to the boy, he'd plop onto the floor, pulling out a stick of red liquorice and popping it into his mouth, gnawing on it gingerly. Removing three more from his cargo pants pocket, he'd lean them towards the child, "Want a stick?" the Pirate would ask, almost done finishing off the eight inch piece in his mouth. Ravenously, the child grabbed the candy, finishing them off as more than a snack but it'd been his first meal in almost days. "You might think I'm kidding kid but I've been looking for you everywhere." the adult stated, gnawing on another piece, he'd freshly drawn from his Candy Stash in his pocket. Wiping the drool and scraps of candy from his mouth, he'd turn towards the man once again, ever so shyly, tilting his head upward in his direction. "Impossible. I'm no one. I have no name. I have no parents. And like most kids on Minion... I'm either destined to become a slave or a part of the local sea merchant ring... If I live that long." the child responded. "Shinji D. Sundance... Born to Punch Sundance and Sara Waterbrook... Eleven Years ago on Flevance after the War of the Roses on Jaya. Your father was a famous Pirate... A rookie who'd had a weird sense of clothing and ideology to say the least. Shortly after your birth... Your mother abandoned the Pirate Life... Retiring as a Librarian in Flevance... That's when you were born." the stranger rattled off very personal and intimate details of Shinji's life that no one knew. "W-W-HO ARE YOU!?" Shinji lunged away from next to the man, his whole body set into trembles, a nervous break from the man's revelation. "I HAVEN'T BEEN CALLED SHINJI IN ALMOST FIVE YEARS! SHINJI D. SUNDANCE IS DEAD!" Shinji shouted nervously. "Indeed he is. Cipher Pol Mission #210030... Operation Usurp Heirs... UH for short. The Cipher Pol Nine underwent an operation to eliminate the offspring of all Famous Deceased Pirates who had children. Your momma died saved your life didn't she boy. By the time you woke up, you'd already arrived on Minion Island." the Pirate concluded. Shinji just froze in his tracks, he'd been waiting for this day his whole life, the day the words in his mother's letter would come through, too young at time to read, he'd spent his days stealing books to accumulate enough basic reading and writing skills to decipher his mother's letter.
"To be honest... I'm the only man in the world who could've found you. Like you... I've lost someone who I loved dearly. Everyday... I hear her voice haunt me from the other side... Except for today. I've lived a long life kid... I've robbed... Killed... Fought... and eliminated everyone in my path as a Pirate but there was one man I could've never beat... It was Sundance. He was mouthy, bratty, cocky little prick but his wife was once a crewmate on a crew I was on as a rookie. You'd think the ten year difference would deter them. I was at a lost when she said she'd fallen for a brat." the man said scratching his head. "I ate a Devil Fruit... Called the Toki Toki No Mi... It's a fruit that turns me into a Time Man... I can literally jump through instances of time. It's a fruit that drains a bulk of my stamina... It's one of the Rarest Paramecia's in the World. It'll sound like gibberish now kid... How old are you?" the pirate inquired. "14." Shinji responded. "Good. For the next five years... I'll train you. On the last day of those Five Years... I'll die. I used my Time Roll to find out where you were... It happens when you steal the time of other humans... you loose your own." the pirate chimed in. "None of this makes sense... This is too much." Shinji commented, shaking his head side to side nervously. "From this day on... Like my Predecessor before me... Shinji D. Sundance is dead. Your new name is Lazarus. Much like my name was another before I got this title and this Devil Fruit from the last owner... I'm passing on my 'Will' to you." Lazarus revealed. "Woah Woah... Slow down. 'Will' Lazarus... How are you giving me a new name? Oi. Answer me." Shinji shouted. "You ask a lot of questions kid... Rishi Rishi. I guess I should start off with some basic fighting stances... no sense if he can't fight." Lazarus murmured to himself ignoring the child's questions. This incident happened Five Years from current times but had repeated itself almost two times, every century. Every One Hundred Years, two men, with the name, Lazarus, appear as antagonists to the Current Regime in power, even dating back as far as the Void Century. The ideals of three famous Pirates, Sara Waterbook - 'The Human Library' , Punch Sundance - 'The Red Ribbon' and Lazarus D. Phantom - 'Time Denizen', their wills would be passed onto the child formerly known as Shinji. Over the next few months, Lazarus spent most of his time aloof from his crew, training Shinji in Karate, then Kick Boxing and various principles from Kung-Fu lastly.
- Act II - Lazarus The Second :
It'd been one year since Shinji had begun his lessons with Lazarus. The first step after fortifying his body was taking Shinji to Flevance, every now and again, to read various books from his mother private library. Before she died, it was promise Lazarus had promised to uphold. Shinji was a sponge, he'd absorbed everything taught to him and assimilated it in a way that worked for him within small spasms of time. "What are in those dingy books anyway? She always would be reading them... 'The Story Of The Lost Eons.'" Lazarus inquired, acting as guard by the window of the now abandoned library. "You ever wondered why all of the books in the library were confiscated but these, Sensei?" Shinji inquired. "Rishi Rishi... I wasn't really a book person myself." Lazarus chuckled nervously. "Eh... That's why mom choose dad over you. Sad." Shinji commented, grinning shutting his book. "So mean... I miss the scared you from a year ago... Who used to cry in his sleep... 'Don't Leave Me Sensei.'" Lazarus teased. Blushing immediately, he'd turn his face away from Lazarus pouting. "Oi Oi... I'm kidding." Lazarus retorted bursting out into laughter. "You're really Sara's kid... She did the same thing when she was embarrassed." Lazarus commented. "Whatever! That book series... Did my mother used to read these alot?" Shinji said, holding up the book towards Lazarus. "She'd read a lot of books. We've even toppled towns for her collection. However... The Story Of The Lost Eons... Those seemed to be her favourite." Lazarus informed. "Of course. Most of the language is very complex... This first book... 'The Story of Lost Time. In the opening pages, it speaks of three other books. The Story of Will. The Story of Roses. This book is a clue. I think my Mother and Father were searching for a clue on Flevance... The Book Opens with this main character... Ironically named Shin. He discovers this book in a place called Ohara. The book is essentially Grandfather to this series of books it seems..." Shinji explained. "For the most part... I've gotten this story fully translated. Shin sets out on a journey to find 'Eon'. It doesn't really say or state if Eon is a person, a place or thing but he sets out on the seas to find it. Basically, Shin gets into a bunch of sticky situations... and matures from them... but the interesting part is in the last few lines on the page." Shinji continued.Story of Lost Time wrote:
'A great wall stood before him. After hunting from island to island, he'd found no clues about Eons but had gained a wealth of knowledge. The only island left in this sea was a White Island called Flevance. However, it'd been plagued by a rare disease. Shin died of old age from his adventures... Spending his whole life chasing Eon. Even his children hunted but all in vein, maybe he'd read the riddles wrong. However, if Eon did indeed exist, only a miracle could save Flevance. Time Waits For No Man.'
Fin.
"Creepy isn't it?" Shinji asked. "The ending... Time Waits For No Man. I think my mother wants me to find Eon. Whatever or wherever it maybe." Shinji concluded. "Sounds like something she'd do. She had a morbid sense of thinking..." Lazarus said, thinking back on the days where Sara would say, 'Whatever books she didn't read in her lifetime, her kids must read them in her steed.' This memory made Lazarus chuckle slightly but only momentarily, "What's even more creepier about this all... is the author's pen name." Shinji said, tossing the book towards Lazarus. The Pirates eyes opened widely as he read the name of the author, he almost felt weak in his knees, 'Lazarus'. "Whatever is going on... We're all connected. I being the Second. You being the first." Shinji concluded. "Rishi Rishi... Oi Oi... What is this some cult secret... What exactly were Sundance and Sara getting themselves into?" Lazarus thought to himself. "Anyways Sensei...This book is far too rare to be leaving them in this dusty empty library." Shinji said, walking towards the staircase of from the upper level towards Lazarus position on the ground floor. However, in a instant, several individuals dressed in all black appeared. Snatching the book from Shinji's hand, a wind blade cut horizontally against Shinji's chest cage, spilling blood onto the floor of the abandoned library. "Damn it... Cipher Pol. I should've been more careful." Lazarus uttered. That day, Shinji nearly died from his injuries. Luckily, Lazarus crew was in the area, and with help from them, Lazarus and Shinji managed to escape but the library was left in ruins, and burned to the ground. Several days later, Shinji came to, regaining his consciousness, the adolescent was even more resolved on finding the other two books. Lazarus resumed training Shinji, as the years flew by on Minion, Lazarus's health began to deteriorate daily, the side effects of the Toki Toki No Mi had begun to dwindle away at what's left of Lazarus' life span. Three years passed, Shinji had been well versed in Lazarus fighting style, an odd way of fighting he picked up from Happo Nation in the New World. The Style Known as Hasshoken burned through Shinji's veins, as Lazarus 'light' began to flicker and fade, Shinji grew stronger by the days.
- Act III - Now & Then - Lazarus D. Eon:
Lazarus died within the next year, Shinji had completed his training and Lazarus using his last bits of his ability to jog his memory on the full contents of the book. By now, the full translation was known to him for the first series and Shinji- No, Lazarus was positive that the secrets of Eon lied in Flevance. Shinji's affiliations with Lazarus Senior had been viewed as by the World, as a son taking up his 'Father's' place. Lazarus's old bounty was transferred onto the Junior, and at the time, he'd been last seen on Minion Island. Though a haven for pirates, many bounty hunter groups, Cipher Pol Agents and Mercenaries alike tried to hunt the new 'Lazarus' but to no avail. Fleeing Minion Island, Lazarus stole a small merchant vessel, beginning his journey towards the island of Rubeck. A Smuggler's Cove, he'd decided to hunt after a Devil Fruit that'd been commandeered by a group of thieves known as 'Polar Smuggler Pirates', a fruit rumoured to have the ability to turn anyone who ate it, into a star that shined like no other.

A very mysterious read, as always! For a moment there though, I was getting worried that you were going to attempt claiming the Toki Toki no Mi for Shinji. I'm glad you didn't. (Though I'm also not too fond of a devil fruit based on a celestial object unless you have a really unique idea for it.)
