Ren Heishi
Basic Character Information
Starting Bonus:Pocket Change| [Pocket Change]
First Name:Ren
Middle Name/Initial: I
Last Name:Heishi
Epithet: The White Fan
Age: 24
Gender:
Race: Human
Faction: Marine
Profession: Tactician. Few have had the upbringing that Ren has given his condition on top of status forcing him to learn such a profession. A useful profession in both combat and diplomatic sessions. A sharp tongue is his first choice of weapon, as a few simple words could escalate or diffuse a situation. The second his constantly plotting mind from possible meat shields to escape routes if misfortune should fall his way. The third is a deadly blade, one that results in the largest panic and stress on his part..not his favorite option. Using his talents for those that pay for his services has become second nature to him. It's all a simple game against an unknown opponent and Ren isn't known for losing.
Physical Appearance
Height: 5,7
Weight: 140
Hair Style:Kept back in a tight ponytail with hair sticks, with a few strands here and there framing his face. In a more relaxed state, his hair falls freely his waist and messy bangs fall in his eyes.
Hair Color:White
Eye Color: Red
Scars: His palms have singular scars that jut off to his wrists, marring snowy skin in glaring detail.
Clothing and Accessories: His choice in clothing is a partial reason for his epithet as elegant kimonos made of the finest silks dyed as snowy as his own hair. Simple sandals are his choice of shoe due to their comfort and relatively inexpensive nature. The only splash of color are the variance of hair sticks and belts ranging from sterling silver to a crimson red. Rumor has it that depending on the color of said accessories it could give insight on the man's mood, or it could just be false hope. The occasional piece of jewelry such as ring or necklace may accompany his appearance if the occasion calls for it. While a simple fan generally accompanies his belts to ward off weather and pests of all kinds.
Description: Elegant and aristocratic, its obvious from even a commoner's eyes that this man has noble blue-blood running through his veins. Handsome would be too masculine to describe his facial features as he veers more towards the idea of pretty. The only unfortunate feature are his thin lips that seem perpetually stuck in an expression of distaste. It possible there is reason for that as he does stand out in a crowd being born as an albino. Snowy hair that could reach his waist if let loose, restrained with eye-catching hair-sticks. While his skin is like the color of paper as if a second in the sun would burn it without a second thought. His eyes are the color of red wine in darker lighting, but seem to turn crimson in the sunlight.
In terms of body type, his frame is slender without much visible muscle to speak of. That isn't to say he is lacking in strength just that his style of fighting is better suited for movement and agility over trying to out bulk an opponent. Despite his apparent blue-blood, he has been marked by violence as his scarred palms can attest. Even after all these years of the initial infliction, the redden and rough scar still remains as noticeable as ever in contrast to his skin tone. The hem of his kimono cover his hands much of the time as he seems to loathe the scarring with an intense passion.
The Past
Main Traits:Manipulative, Vain, Ill-tempered, Patient
Likes: Wealth, Games, Books, Travel
Dislikes:Pirates, Laziness, Overambitious people, Idiots. Just idiots.
Unique laugh:His laugh is surprisingly mellow koo-koo-koo that seems to raise in pitch if he is laughing hard.
Hometown: Dawn Island: High Town
Personality: In everyday situations, there seems to be chronic air of disinterest about Ren as a clear expression of boredom and fatigue marring his pretty face. Expect non-committal hmms, huhs, and ahs from him if the topic isn't relevant enough or be ready to hold your tongue if you catch him grooming instead of listening. However, if the topic does catch his interest it can be hard to get him to shut up until he extracts every single drop of information from the speaker, as it's finally something to alleviate the boredom bouncing around his mind. Another downside to his feeling of boredom is he begins to use his charisma for his own amusements such as setting off an argument over something trivial between two peons or flirting with anyone until a scarlet hue covers their face. Those that know of this destructive habit are quick to call him out on it. People can be toys to ease his boredom if he doesn't see value in them.
Perhaps the only safe topic that is considered stable and interesting as he can make is the topic of books and travel. Books are ways for someone to explore forgotten ideas or just escape their own lives just for a few moments. His love of reading became a shield as a child as it was the safest place for him away from staring eyes. While travel could be self-explanatory, every new island he visits has entirely different people, culture and foods from the previous one..not to mention the memories that could be made there. Good or Bad, each island holds memories that he will not forget. While there seems to be a melancholy air about him if he is out browsing the wares at a market as if it's something he is not used to doing as a solitary activity.
In more intense situations, his boredom changes to something more alert and present as it's his chance to use his wits against someone else. Clear arrogance seems to radiate off him and his words as he toys with opponents as if its a simple game instead of possibly deadly consequences. This transfers over to combat as he is just as likely to try and verbally assassinate the opponent's moral or emotional control with precise barbs. After all there is nothing easier than running through an opponent shaking in rage swinging wildly or too distraught to focus on the battle in front of him. A few would call this type of game, a bit too cruel, but it is the reality. Those that loose control of themselves in battle are bound to die recklessly one way or another. Now this is hypocritical as Ren has a foul temper of his own that is a bit surprisingly to see upon first viewing. Thrown objects and yelling about whatever pissed him off is expected, it's even worse when he looses it in combat as he will deliberately attempt to maim an opponent in order to make them suffer just a bit longer.
- History:
Ren Heishi was born the sole son and apparent heir of the Heishi Noble Family in the Goa Kingdom. He wasn't alone as he had five elder sisters to spoil him as a child. Perhaps their fondness for the young noble was a mixture of pity and protectiveness given his condition. As an albino, he was unable to have the normal childhood of playing out in the sunshine with other children as too much sun left him stricken with fevers that would leave him bedridden for days. So, he sought the company of books instead and was relatively shy around those outside his family. One word responses would practically have to be dragged out of him in public settings as scrutinizing gazes of his unique features made his shy nature even worse. His anxiety got a bit better as he grew older around the age of a young teen, when his flattering features began blossoming and he found himself fawned over by young girls envious of his unique hair and eyes.
This was the start of his manipulative streak as he grew bored of the giggling women instead wanting to retreat for his hobbies inside. It led to rumors between the girls that he was secretly meeting with one of them in particular and would pester the young man until he admitted the rumors were true..in hopes of having them leave him alone. This only made his problems worse as annoyance turned to irritation, but his noble upbringing prevented him from utterly dismissing the young noblewomen. His solution, turn them against one another until his apparent favorite had her heart smashed by him. No more problems with women and their silly affections. That isn't to say his elder sisters did not lecture him on how politely refuse a lady, which he responded with a bored sigh. It was around the age of sixteen that his life found him on a completely different path all because of one singular encounter.
It all started as normal stroll around the local harbor as Ren found himself the unwilling footman of his sisters and their shopping spree. Packages upon packages were piled into his arms as his sisters giggled away about various topics, until a gruff voice silenced the cheerful atmosphere. The faint smell of booze and sweat lingered in the air as Ren glanced around his load to see the muscular form of a thug holding a blade to his eldest sister's throat, crimson droplets springing from her delicate throat. His four free sisters gathered behind him each whispering to the other as Ren cleared his throat to ask the pirate's demands, his expression calm, his heart about to burst. The apparent answer came in a harsh swear as the telltale blue and white uniforms of the Marines thundered down the street, the blade held tighter to his sister's throat. Barking an order at the Marines for them to halt their assault as the Noble hoped to deescalate the situation..emotions were running too high, rationality was out the window. The idiots paused before any questioning attitudes, the thug found his face assaulted by a heavy package, Ren dived for the blade as crimson blood fed grey cobblestones as his sisters yells became background noise. The thrill of the struggle was something completely new as Ren caught his breath, not even bothered by the vast gashes on his palms as Marines physically dragged the pirate away, now screaming something about Nobles and Injustice.
It was only after the adrenaline faded that Ren came back to reality as his sisters fussed over his injuries, the doctors told his worried parents only scars would remain..and the heir had quite the story to tell. It would result in the end of his life on Goa Kingdom as the Captain of those local Marines would come by with an offer..Join the Marines. Be the Justice. While for Ren it meant an escape from his expected duties of his House..at least for a time..changing his Fate forever. It wasn't an easy start as Ren found himself rubbing shoulders with people all backgrounds, as his upbringing came to light through mannerisms..nor did his looks help him in intimidation. Mockingly given the name 'White Fan' as it was clear he would be suited in some fancy court as a decoration instead of in the Marines..but his talents for tactics changed that name into something positive. The color white signals peace and calm..but it so easily stains red when blood touches it. An elegant tactician with a fierce change in battle..and of late after his consumption of the Devil Fruit Bird Bird-Model:Peacock it never fails to amuse him when he sees the color drain from the faces of enemies upon seeing his fan of feathers unfurled stained in blood and gore..about to die like dogs if only diplomacy hadn't failed.
