Her outfit consists of a revealing ruby-red corset which reveals her midriff. It is possible her clothes have been torn during her adventures. The red corset has an insignia visible below the belt which it hinders below. The same belt rests of her hip and above her torn, black jean trousers, which now look like shorts. The jean trouser has a chain, multiple belts wrapped around her right leg and a few which spiral towards the lower half of her left. Over her corset, she wears a black jacket in the form of a robe with red-velvet lacing; the jacket is ripped towards the bottom and is tightened towards her chest by the belt.
She wears protective armor on her footwear as well as one extra armor plate on her right shin. She wears the same armor in the form of an arm protective gauntlet which rests above the same material as her coat; the material arches its way up to and wraps around her middle finger, highlighted by a rhombus-shaped piecing. The same gauntlet is where she rest her lance-blade in battle. Her left arm is wrapped and bandaged up because of the alternate appearance it could take in public and battle.
Description:
With a tall and slender build frame the first thing that people likely notice is that Noir has extremely long and black hair, that which reaches all the way to almost floor-level; towards the bottom, her hair tends to get plaited into big braids that are tied off by a bandage-like band. Her hair strands tend to curve toward the left-side of her face and the mid-length hair which is plaited and tied by a small bandage-band resting on her left shoulder.
The Past
Main Traits: Courageous, Adaptable, Energetic, Competitive, Ambitious, Stubborn, Perverted, Childish, Spiteful
Likes: Cute girls or sexy women, meat (raw or cooked), dogs, brawls, hunting in the wild, honey-cakes
Dislikes: Cats, cold climate, unfinished grudges, vegetables
Hometown: uncharted island in the South Blue
Personality:
Those who seen Noir, and experienced all facets of her nature will almost certainly agree that the pirate they know is an enigmatic figure. Those who first meet her often label him as the classic gentlewoman, the stereotypical noblewoman who acts with a certain eloquence. Her cheerful and slightly playful demeanor tends to serve as an excellent means to interact with the younger crowds. Indeed, Noir usually appears as a cheerful and well-mannered young woman whose kindness and suave attitude makes her easy to get along with.
To those who know her a little bit better Noir also shows a deeply ingrained sense of a personal code of honor, the type of woman who is incapable of letting a slight go by unpunished. She's surprisingly mature and understanding, often displaying an aptitude for listening to people, and share in their emotions as if they were her own. But she also seems incredibly loyal to those she calls her friends.
But above all, Noir is an actor, and the earlier description is merely one of the countless masks she can put on if needed: The Joker, the white knight, the kind elder sibling, the charming stranger and of course there's also the ruthless hunter. If there was a way to truly describe Noir, then perhaps the following might be the most genuine description of her true nature, at least if she still possesses that:
They say a lion doesn't know fear, and that the heart of a lion beats within Noir. Upholding with the descriptions of her heroic nature, Noir is a brave and courageous individual. However, this trait, against all expectations was not a natural thing for the woman to possess. Rather, it unfolded during her time alongside her elder brother Gregory, the close camaraderie they held nurturing her growth into the woman she is today. Seeing him as an example in how he never cowered in the face of seemingly overwhelming odds or the fact he never was one to back off from a challenge, Noir is the type of woman who upholds the virtue of courage and admires it in others. However, most important is the knowledge that she would consider the lack of it a flaw.
While her past might have unfolded in a way she had not desired, the fact that she has been given a second chance at living in the form of a pirate, or rather a pioneer of the concept of freedom anywhere, whether on land or sea has given Noir a passion for the unknown and challenges. She's the type of woman who is prone to travel to a foreign land, just to see what awaits her there. In the end, if she refused to explore the possibilities her new life has to offer then she would end up getting at a standstill, and everyone knows that in a world like ours moving forwards is necessary if you wish to survive.
Curiously enough her suave attitude is not a disguise; she truly is a confident and pleasant to interact with woman. The type of person you can easily converse with while she displays a relaxed and often delightfully social demeanor. Not only that, but as a woman of her age, she knows all too well that the right compliment at the right time can cause a situation to turn into her favor.
Having experienced firsthand what sort of things can happen to a person when they are encouraged and helped one can say that Noir is often prone to take on a distant mentor-like attitude toward those she considers weaker than her, especially children. In the end, she considers it a mutually beneficial choice, because the weaker individual increased their chance for survival, and she herself obtains a potential ally. However, her method of encouragement might be a bit harsh, for she believes that people nurture the best on barren soil, and that means to improve from enduring hardships.
An aspect of her personality that tends to naturally blend in with her pride, Noir is often rather arrogant in the sense that she overestimates herself. She might not think lowly of others; it's just that she thinks really highly of herself. As someone who often stood in the spotlight, only outmatched by her brother caused Noir to manifest this trait. She often considers herself capable of doing more than people imagine she can, and often this manifests in her inability to properly calculate her own capacities when it comes to a battle.
Associated with the fact she failed to save her brother and her family during the raider’s pillaging of her island. This personal failure has made Noir often become prone to seeing things a lot more negatively than they are when things turn out in a way she didn't expect them to be. However, it's also that regret that turns into pessimism, which serves as an unhealthy stimulant for Noir to move forward. In the end, with a regretful past, it's not exactly like she has anything to lose by moving forwards.
The type of woman who lives in the here and now Noir is often prone to act the moment an opportunity shows itself rather than waiting to see things. While this might conflict with her deceptive nature the fact she’s impulsive also opens a certain sense of training in thinking on the move. Still, her impulsiveness was born even before her life as a pirate. As a hunter she often had to act and think quickly or risk botching up her hunt. However, most often this manifests as a negative trait because it makes her impatient and dislikes the idea of waiting when the opportunity is there.
While this only happens to those who challenged her or otherwise tried to oppose him Noir tends to allow herself to show a certain mean streak to her at times. Sadistic in terms of enjoying the sight of humiliating her enemies in the attempt to make them know their place upon defeat by her hands Noir might not be the type of woman who’d mindlessly kill someone who crossed her path, unless she has a reason, but her fallen enemies can certainly expect not to leave without a fair share of mental or physical humiliation.
While she does not develop a grudge quickly, the moment she does one is pretty much guaranteed it will last until the day one of them dies. In the end, Noir has seen her fair share of wrongdoings, and something about them remaining unsolved only stirs an intense hatred within her. Of course, while she might be convinced to drop a grudge the saying ‘She might forgive, but she’d never forget’ applies to her. She might decide to forgive someone in the end, but the grudge for the event will always linger.
- History:
Once upon a time, there was an island within the South Sea that was inhabited by a small group of people. This group was also known as the 'Knights of the Wild' tribe, or just the 'Chevalier' tribe. For this community, the act of hunting was a sacred rite, a challenge between man and often the mysterious animals of the wild. For the Chevalier tribe hunting was not just a rite, it was a way of living, allowing the tribe to harvest the meat and hides from various rare species to sell or trade with the crew of passing ships. Indeed, it was in this primitive society that Noir was born and raised.
The youngest child out of two belonging to the tribe-chief, the young Noir was quite a rascal as a child, a cheerful but competitive little lass who was inspired by her elder brother who was a famous and talented hunter even from a young age. From the moment she could walk and talk she chased her elder brother, declaring how someday she would become a hunter just as great as him, and then surely she would help him lead the tribe to a period of prosperity that had been unheard of since the tales of the tribe's founder!
Still, there is one thing you should never tell a child: to not do something. From a young age, the children of the tribe were taught not to wander toward a certain part of the island, rumors said that demons dwelled there and that the people from the sea went to die at the large beach on that side of the island. Of course Noir had the same curiosity as a cat, and like the saying goes: curiosity killed the cat. Fortunately, she wasn't a kitten, but a proud hunter! Accepting a courage challenge from one of the other children she ventured into the wilderness, her destination being the forbidden land.
Carefully she made certain to avoid the more powerful beasts, and after a whole day of traveling, she reached the forbidden land. She was surprized... there were no plants, nor any animals... only the white grains of sand beneath her feet as she darted along the beach, spear in hand ready to vanquish any demon that would dare to cross her path.
In the end, she found it, not a demon but the remains of a denizen of the sea, a skeleton they called it and what was even more curious was the large fruit that it held in its arms. Poking the skeleton lightly with her spear it seemed that the denizen had been as dead as possible, so carefully she scooped the fruit in her arms and made her way back toward the village.
However, on her way homewards she realized a sad fact: while she brought the fruit with her as a trophy to show she passed the challenge, she would likely be forced to share the fruit with the other children, and after such a long trip she was starting to get a little bit hungry, and as one could imagine by the time she reached the village the tribe looked in bewilderment as the girl was munching the fruit without a care in the world.
Her father sighed in a mixture of amusement and frustration at the sight of the girl, exclaiming she had broken the taboo of going to the forbidden land, and yet her explanation of wanting to prove her courage and desire to explore unseen lands led to the chieftain to remark how she reminded him of himself during his younger years. Nonetheless, the girl had made a fatal mistake, as she realized too late when a stomachache started to overwhelm her.
There had been another reason why the forbidden land shared its name: the fact it possessed untold secrets and dangers, and she had been eating one of its secrets: a fruit from the sea that the denizen of the ocean called a 'Devil Fruit'. As a precaution, the girl was forced to sleep outside that night a small distance away from the tribe but under the careful watch of her family. Over the span of the night, something remarkable happened, for while she was struck by an intense fever she woke up the next morning as if the whole world had shrunk! Indeed, the little midget had turned into a giant canine, towering above the forest. Her yawn was almost enough to make the trees shake slightly when her father approached her, seemingly intrigued at her new form.
"DAD LOOK, I'M GROWN-UP NOW!" her brother grinned at the words, remarking that she had surpassed the stage of 'grown up'. However, her father explained that upon having devoured the devil fruit Noir had to take responsibility for her newfound powers, and she needed to master them first before she could return to the village. Of course, it wasn't easy, not only was she suddenly a huge beast, but she had a tail! and not just any tail, her tail was... hold on to your seats... A FREAKING SNAKE! No kidding, was she never going to poop again without a snake looking at her ass? the horror... But it did come with some cool perks! She was a big girl, ahem dog now and had some cool and sharp claws! Not only that, she also possessed the ability to breathe... Wait for it, this is going to be legendary.... FIRE! Indeed, she once even cooked a whole antelope, sure it was overcooked but it tasted good and she did it herself!
For ten years the girl spends her days learning to control her new form, till at long last she learned the means to transform back to normal. A little bit of experimenting here and there even made her realize she could partially transform her body! Why wouldn't she do that? The ability to grow her large clawed arm, or breathe fire or grow a long serpent tail, actually that last bit was still a bit embarrassing, to be honest...
Of course, the tribe celebrated her return, a grand feast being held as Noir received a welcome almost akin to a hero, but it was a week after the event that tragedy struck. On one of her regular hunting trips across the island Noir noticed smoke coming from the village, and to her horror discovered a massacre... A group of denizen from the sea were searching for something, a 'Devil Fruit' that was rumored to be on the island. Of course, the tribe refused to reveal that Noir had eaten it, and instead gone to war against the group of denizen, but their weaponry was more than enough to turn the advantage of the tribe's numbers against them.
Seething rage overcame her as she saw her murdered tribe, butchered out of greed, and soon the young lady let out an inhuman howl that shook even the hardened pirates to the bone, her body rapidly enlarging into the form of the large Cerberus. The fools had been caught by surprise, not having expected her to be the possessor of the mysterious fruit they were searching for, and before they could properly react she pounced amidst their ranks, her tail sweeping sideways while the serpent's fangs dug into the denizen's body, and her claws tore through their men. Just like they had slaughtered her tribe, so did she kill each of them.
A day later another ship arrived, revealing to had been a group of 'pioneers of freedom' those pioneers revealed the denizen from the sea had been akin to bandits, greedy and selfish fiends who held no sense of honor or morals, and that the pioneers had been hunting them. Learning about the tragedy that had unfolded they offered to help Noir give her tribe their passing rites, a sorrowful scene as Noir used her power to consume the entire ground the tribe had lived on into an inferno of flames. In the end that was the proper burial rites of the Chevalier tribe, still Noir didn't expect what would follow. They mentioned that since she had no home anymore, she should make the sea her new home, explaining the idea that a true pirate pursued their own morals and desires, a creed of FREEDOM ON LAND, FREEDOM AT SEA! resounding from the crew. Noir accepted the idea, deciding she would bring honor to her tribe by spreading the reputation of their last hunter across even the mystical Grand Line! Still, before she could accomplish such a thing she would surely need to find some trustworthy allies. Would she find them, those 'True Pirates' at sea? Only time would tell...
