Personality: King is a calm and cool-headed individual who rarely gets infuriated or angry. She isn't the best person to ever show an emotion, that's why she usually keeps a straight and neutral face. When feeling angry, though, King would destroy a belonging of a person who angered her or just one of her things that she deems as useless if she's just angry over something, but an exemption is if the person who angered her is a person who has the authority to decide for her fate.
King isn't afraid to have a debate with a higher-up if what she sees the higher-up is doing is wrong, same goes with those who are of below her rank. King would defend an innocent person from 'anyone'. May they be a Celestial dragon, an Admiral, a Yonko, a Shichibukai, or anyone really. King would fight for whatever she think is right, no matter what trouble it would cause her.
King doesn't attack people unless they attack her, and this goes to every people out there (i.e. Marine, Pirate, Revolutionary, etc.). She isn't also afraid to ask help from people who the Marines see as a threat or an enemy, although she knew the consequences, but it’s not like she’d get the Marines know that.
While in battle, either a serious one or a just a friendly challenge, King would give it her all but she would show mercy and spare her opponent, but if it is a wanted person she is dealing with, then she would arrest them as soon as that wanted person is defeated. If King lost to a battle, she wouldn't think much of it and make a big deal out of it, but instead she would just make her lose a fuel to encourage her to train more.

King never had the chance to meet her parents nor did she have the knowledge of what happened to them or what they look like since her grandfather had either burned or thrown away all the things that belonged to her mother and all the things that reminded him of her. King, however, doesn't know a thing or two about her father and the only thing she knows about her mother was that her grandfather's daughter was her mother. Although, as a child, King heard rumors about her father being a pirate which would really be a disgrace if a Marine Captain's daughter would marry a filthy, good-for-nothing pirate.
King was always pressured by her strict grandfather, even when she was just a child because her grandfather wanted King to be a Marine with a respected title when she grows up. He would always train her in combat or assign an even stricter person than her grandfather as her tutor for her studies. King would always try her best to catch up with her combat training and with her studies, but no matter what she does, her best would never be enough in the eyes of her grandfather and King is very well aware of that.
But despite that, King still tries her hardest and best effort whenever she is assigned to do something. King never wanted to be a Marine, she had always wanted to be a pirate since she envies their freedom and independence, but King would never ever tell her grandfather that nor would she ever show any evidence of her wanting to be a pirate since King knows how scary her grandfather gets when angry.
And pirates make her grandfather angry.
When King had reached the age of 9, King's grandfather gave her a gift, much to King's delight. But the gift that her grandfather gave her didn't make King jump in joy at all since the present that her grandfather gave her is what she despises the most, not that King wasn't appreciative, but she never liked the idea of not being able to swim again...
Devil Fruits sure grant a person some kind of power... but what kind of power?
King knew that eating a devil fruit would either make the person want to kill himself or make the person... not regret anything at all. King didn't want to take the risk of having a stupid Devil Fruit power, and she definitely didn't want to lose her ability to swim either. King's grandfather, having no patience at all, forced King to eat the fruit by shoving it inside her mouth. Luckily for King, the fruit has the physical traits of a strawberry, except for the odd twirls, but it tasted really horrible.
Like a garbage mixed with rotten eggs and a dead rat. Or maybe that's just over-exaggerating it since King had never tasted garbage nor rotten eggs or a dead rat, but it could be compared to that as it tasted really disgusting. When King had finally digested the fruit, her grandfather demanded her to show him her devil fruit powers. But to his dismay, King didn't have the slightest idea on how to make her devil fruit power work. And so because of that, her grandfather puts more pressure on King.
5 months later after her birthday, King had finally found out on what she is capable of whenever she's using her devil fruit powers. However, instead of her grandfather being proud of her, he was disappointed and said that it took her long enough to discover her capabilities as a devil fruit user.
At age 10, King had encountered a young slave who has a leash tied around his neck and was being mistreated by a noble somewhere in Loguetown. King was with her grandfather that day so she waited for her grandfather to take action but he did nothing. So what King did was that she took a step forward, but she got held back by her grandfather who quickly realized King's intentions.
King was a bit surprised by her grandfather’s actions and was very disappointed at him. She would protest against her grandfather, but no word came out of her mouth because King knew that her grandfather wouldn’t listen to a word she is saying. With that, King
Time passed by and King finally hits the age of 17. Once she’s at the age of 17, she was finally free from her grandfather’s grasp and just like what her grandfather had always wanted her to be, King became a Marine but with a different reason. King became a Marine not because she wanted to earn a high position but because she wanted to serve and protect civilians with fair justice and fight the rights of people.
When King became a Marine, she left her grandfather in Loguetown. When she left, she heard no more news of her grandfather nor did she receive any calls from the Den Den Mushi or any letters asking if she was doing alright. But that was to be expected since King knew that her grandfather didn't actually care about her well-being.
