Last Name: Kazama
Epithet: Lightning Bird
Age: 25

Profession: Hunter/Tracker, during his youth on his home tropical island, Ryuji learned a thing or two about hunting animals for food, this also comes along with tracking footprints, what types of food to bait said animals, etc.
Physical Appearance
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 193 lbs
Hair Style: Short hair
Hair Color: Blue
Eye Color: Light Brown
Scars: N/A
Clothing and Accessories:
As a Rear-Admiral, he wears the coat that says "Justice" on the back, along with a blue shirt and beige-colored pants. If he's not in uniform, he wears the black coat. Otherwise, he replaces the black coat with the justice coat every other marine high-rank wears.
Description: He's shown to be a fit, healthy white male. He isn't exactly muscular, but he isn't overweight either. The only special thing worth mentioning about his appearance is the tattoo on his face, specifically around his right eye.
The Past
Main Traits: Straightforward, Cocky, Simplistic
Likes:
+ Control, when things are in order and goes Ryuji's way, he likes it.
+ Happy endings, he's seen a few too many bad endings or just "neutral" endings to many scenarios, and prefers situations that come out positively for everyone.
+ Girls, a habit he grew from his mentor, the captain who took him in. He shamefully inherited his mentors perverted mind for girls and now, would find any chance to try and impress one.
Dislikes:
- Slavers, he felt like he could've had a much better future if he wasn't a slave in the past and feels sad for those who are forced under such treatment.
- Unnecessary brutality or punshiment, he believes that people who act wrongly or badly deserve to be punished, but don't need to held over constantly for their wrongs.
- Selfishness, while Ryuji is materialistic himself, he doesn't put the lives of others over such things. If he had the choice to save a village or get a stash of gold, he would save the village.
Hometown: Unnamed Tropical Island, Grandline.
Personality: Ryuji is mostly shy towards meeting others, unless it's somebody he knows or if it's a girl. In which he'll get more confident about, other then that he is well-mannered towards others. He minds his own business when it comes to other peoples matters unless he knows he has to step in to stop it or help out whoever is clearly being attacked or being wronged.
In combat, he could be considered brash or arrogant. He believes that since he is literally a gigantic bird that can sprout out lightning at enemies, he is better in mostly every way. However, his attitude can change very quickly if he finds himself struggling or to be floored instantly. He believes due to his position and power he is unstoppable, but if he is beaten and floored down, he usually just admits defeat and credit the victor, as it usually doesn't happen to him.
To sum up his personality, he's a nice guy outside of combat, opposite of that when it comes to combat.
- History:
Ryuji grew up in a tribe in a tropical/forest island in the Grand line, it used to be apart of the long-legged tribe but after differing ideologies, the tribe literally split apart and after generations and generations, Ryuji's tribe eventually lost the long-legged gene and eventually became normal humans. The only thing that makes them unique is their belief is in mythological creatures, believing that as long as they offered sacrifices and blessings to said creatures, their island would be protected from invaders and outsiders.
Ryuji saw life in a different way to how the tribe handled life, it was believed that you should spend your entire life for the tribe, and die for the tribe. Ryuji's belief as he grew older was that there is more to life then being locked in one island, he promoted the idea for fellow tribe members to leave if they wish to, to live their own life in peace if they wish to. Some of the tribe members considered this idea appealing, but the higher ups weren't happy about the promoting and with their power, banished Ryuji from the tribe. He was forced to have the tattoo on his face, which is the tribal's shape meaning for "outcast"
So he left the tribe, he traveled on his own throughout the grand line but was captured by slavers, since Ryuji was alone and had practically no combat training, he didn't have any chance of fighting back. This happened when he was 13, and was a slave for 3 years. Ryuji, like many slaves had the neck explosive ready to go off should slaves try to fight back or run away from their masters. However, one of the more skilled slaves appeared to lockpick himself out of his collar, and did it for every other slave that was nearby. A breakout happened which led to either the escaping slaves to be killed by gunfire, or some of them got away. During the confusion, Ryuji stole a bag of what he believed to be food, and ran off. Which, he was right about. However, when he went through the bag it was mostly of fruits, like apples, bananas and such. Strange enough, one was colored light blue with an unnatural lightning-like pattern across the fruit, Ryuji thought it was a luxury apple or something by the rich, with a special upgrade but when he ate it, he was proved wrong as the fruit tasted horrible. He swallowed it anyway and proceeded to eat the rest in the bag.
He was found by the other slaves and they decided to group up. They formed a crew together and Ryuji only sticked with them as he believed strength in numbers. Over that year though, he was still 16 and they eventually ran into marines who were ordered to "return them to their masters." and due to the superior weaponry and number of the navy, the slave crew were nearly wiped out until Ryuji got angry and lost control, he only remembered becoming bigger with lightning igniting all over him and was knocked out cold, by the time he woke up, he was on a wooden plank that landed near the beach, with tons of bodies over the beach, both slaves and marines alike. There was a group of marines who noticed that Ryuji was awake and aimed their guns at him, telling him to follow along and meet their captain.
Ryuji didn't know what happened, but he noticed that he had feathers over himself. He wondered where they came from, he was escorted to the captain of the navy ship that they were fighting from before, and asked one serious question and looked Ryuji in the eye. "What kind of power was that?" he asked, Ryuji showed confusion, he said. "You don't know? let me break it down to you... assuming by all those feathers over you, you must've been that giant bird shooting lightning everywhere." Ryuji was even more confused, "Sounds crazy, right? well... whatever outburst you had, it destroyed both our navy ship and your slave friends. Normally, I'd capture you and sell you off to a high bidder, a devil fruit like yours must be extremely rare... but I think you'd do better as a marine, that sort of power at our command would be extraordinary. You would get many benefits and rank up fast. What do you say?" Ryuji then learned the situation now, from what he gathered, the captain believes that Ryuji was responsible for the result of the battle, and wants to recruit him?
Ryuji accepted, he had no where else to go and no family to go to. This person was one of the few in a while to offer a helping hand, even if their intentions were to benefit the marines, or for self-benefit. Over the years, Ryuji started to get better at controlling this devil fruit, which he learned is a mythical zoan called "Bird-Bird Fruit, Model: Thunderbird" which allows him to transform into a bird and control lightning, he had become the ideal solo hunter against pirates, due to his lightning attacks and flying capability. Due to his potential, he was quickly placed up to Rear-Admiral. Over the years, due to being in a rank of privilege he's starting to gain a greedy/wanting side of himself, after living a life of not having many luxury items or possessions.

It's interesting to see how a greedier side of him is emerging after coming into a rank of privilege.
