She wears special leather gloves that have several metal clasps meant for attaching to her iron knuckles and reach halfway up her forearm. Upon Miku’s head is her tattered blue messenger cap, it has several rough patch jobs with a large dull gold crown patch covering up a large hole in it.
Description: Miku’s once lithe frame has been built into a lean muscled body through her adventures at sea and the campaign on Centaurea. Her eyes are a light green which are constantly scrutinizing those around her openly. Her nose is slightly crooked from years of brawling, the skin over her knuckles have thickened, and her fingers are calloused. Miku’s chest, which was once wrapped, now is no longer hidden revealing her C cup bust. (It’s rumored that this decision was due to her constant mistaken gender as a young man rather than a woman after her reputation grew beyond Centaurea.)

Likes: Fighting, Strength/Conviction, Fried Foods, Alcohol, Children
Dislikes: Marines, Dresses, Vegetables, Oppression, Cowards
Unique laugh: Bwah, ha, ha, ha, uh…

Personality: Miku wears her heart and beliefs on her sleeve which can often cause her trouble due to her free spirited and reckless tendencies. She often leaps before looking but always makes sure she owns up to the consequences of her actions. Miku pretends to be a highly selfish individual but has a tendency to take others under her care and provide for those with less than herself. Miku is naturally curious and is always absorbing new knowledge, whether it’s true or not. Despite this tendency she is highly skeptical of those in positions of power or authority and is quick to escalate things to violence if it means she can get her way.
Miku enjoys partying and drinking with her crew and friends whenever she can, often resulting in drunken shenanigans that either get her into trouble or end with her being carried out by her crew.
In combat Miku is constantly on the move, keeping light on her feet and using the terrain and surrounding objects to her advantage. She enjoys bantering in an attempt to throw off her opponent and claims to truly get to know a person by either fighting against or alongside them.
- History:
Born in the fallen kingdom of Centaurea, Miku was born to a pair of destitute residents that struggled with poverty. The couple soon realized they could not care for Miku properly and gave her away to a local community orphanage in hopes that she’d have a better chance of surviving as they couldn’t even feed themselves. They never returned for Miku and their fates faded into obscurity.
Miku had no memory of her parents as she was given up at a very young age and grew up in the orphanage. The meals they were provided were the bare minimum and often left many of the children in a starved state that stunted growth and left them frail. Many children turned to stealing, foraging in trash, or eating random plants or rocks when they were allowed to wander outside the orphanage. Miku was a naturally smaller and frail child, causing her to struggle with others taking her meager meals and pushing her around.
At age 6 Miku along with a small group of poorly treated children banded together to run away from the orphanage and fend for themselves. They stole as much food, which was just what they could carry in their hands, and ran away together. Leaving behind their destitute home they all tried their best to live on the streets of Centaurea through begging, scavenging, thieving, and eventually ganging up on others. This goes on for four years before the group slowly starts to dwindle from various tragedies.
It’s at age 10 when Miku tries to steal from the open window of an isolated home. She is caught by an elderly woman who simply gives her permission to take what she needs. Miku, unused to compassion, is surprised and feels a rare pang of guilt and refuses to take the food claiming she doesn’t need the woman’s pity. Miku would leave but eventually return after several days of being unable to procure food. The woman simply welcomed her in and even offered to let her stay the night. Miku initially refused but after eating a proper meal she fell asleep against her own initial decision. The following morning she’d sneak out but return again a couple days later again for a meal. This pattern continued for a month before the woman finally managed to convince Miku to simply stay with her.
For the next two years the woman, Yelena, raised Miku as her own and attempted to fill many of the gaps in the girl's knowledge. Miku was taught to read, write, count, and simple math. She was told stories about the old kingdom of Centaurea, how it was once a lovely place to live with a benevolent monarchy that cared for its people. Miku never knew her mother but had grown to consider Yelena as hers, even calling her so after their first year together. Miku would consider these two years formative and some of the happiest of her life as she idolized Yelena for her kindness and compassion to not only herself but anyone she could help.
It was in their third year together that her happy life was once again torn away from her. A terrible plague had spread through the island, mostly affecting the poverty stricken Centaureans. Naturally this affected Miku and Yelena who both contracted the strange illness, causing them to become bed ridden. Eventually it was discovered that the illness was brought by a Marine crew that was desperate for a doctor and had hoped to find one on Centaurea. Eventually Miku managed to recover from the illness but Yelena was unable to recover and quickly began to deteriorate in health. Miku tried her best to care for her mother but it soon became apparent that the elderly woman was not long for the world. Yelena passed quietly in her sleep leaving a grief stricken Miku alone once again. The young girl didn’t know how to deal with this grief and grew hateful of the Marines that had brought the illness to them.
Miku once again found herself on the streets of Centaurea, alone without other orphans or her mother to care for her. With her new knowledge of the world and her two years of strengthening her body with proper nutrition she was much more capable at fending for herself. Her grief quickly turned to rage against the world as a whole turning her into a vicious and aggressive young teen. She would often resort to violence against anyone, and despite often losing, she would always make sure to draw blood and leave her mark. Eventually she learned how to fight despite her natural disadvantages as a young teen and smaller frame.
At the age of 15 Miku began to gain a reputation as a violent troublemaker that was often banned from establishments and a wildcard to others who lived on the street. Miku’s reputation was often enough to keep most from starting trouble with her, however she had been a late bloomer as a woman and it became apparent to those around her as she wasn’t modest in her clothing. This caused an incident where several older men arranged an ambush against her. Despite her trying her best they had outnumbered her and captured her against her will. These men had been gathering young women and attempting to “recruit” them into “serving” the men of the island for a small fee. Miku was unsure what this meant until some of the other “fresh recruits” explained it to her and she witnessed one of them being dragged away for their first job. It was a traumatizing event for her and she quickly rallied the other women to work together as they easily outnumbered their captors. They did manage to fight their way out but it was a free for all and Miku wasn’t sure if everyone had managed to get away or get recaptured by their captors.
Miku had a deep distrust of older men after this incident and began to dress herself in loose baggy clothing to hide her feminine features from others. She cut her hair short and wrapped her chest once she realized they continued to grow as she continued to mature.
The next year Miku refined her street brawling style and quickly earned a real reputation as a true troublemaker on the island. Despite this she had also become a strange role model for the younger orphans on the island, as tales of her origins as a small frail street urchin had somehow spread among them. Eventually younger children began seeking her out for help, guidance, or even protection. At first Miku found this irritating but didn’t refuse them. She soon began to gather children around her, teaching them what she knew about fighting, reading, writing, and even telling them the tales she was told by her own mother, Yelena. Before she knew it, Miku had become the big sister to a roaming band of orphans that she led.
During one fateful night Miku, now 18 years of age, crossed paths with a notorious pirate, Nathaniel “Magic Man” Thorne. The two had unknowingly been following separate leads to the same problem, a crew of corrupt Marines, who were kidnapping the orphans of the island and selling them to a cruel doctor who was experimenting upon their bodies. The duo worked together to deal with the crew and doctor, although the incident became widely spread on the island. This painted a large target on Miku since the Marines hadn’t only been selling to the doctor but to other larger and more powerful customers who were very upset to learn one of their best sources of slaves were now defunct. Miku bid farewell to her family of orphans and left with Nathaniel.
Miku parted ways with Nathaniel and traveled the South Blue aimlessly. Often stowing away on ships or offering to work as a deckhand in return for passage to their next destination. As she traveled Miku saw many other cases of corrupt Marines or authority figures oppressing the weak with the aid of the Marines. She often confronted these authority figures and earned the moniker “Rowdy Rascal” from all the trouble she stirred up wherever she went. It was during this bout of battles against those stronger than her that awakened a strange ability within her that allowed her to enhance both her strength and reflexes. She eventually learned this power was called Haki and that it was dormant in everyone but only those with training or pushed to their limits could harness it. This power along with her newfound strength caused her reputation as the Rowdy Rascal to grow and she eventually mislabeled as a Pirate. Miku decided to embrace this new reputation and decided to live as a pirate to the fullest.
The Rowdy Rascal tried searching for a crew to join but accidentally traveled back to her home of Centaurea when she snuck onto the wrong ship. Returning to her home she had learned that her reputation at sea had combined with her old one making her an urban legend on the streets of Centaurea. Upon her return she met with a woman named Papillon D. Fran, an old friend she had grown up with as an urchin. Fran informed Miku that she had returned to put an end to yearly harvest of children for the slave trade on the island and invited Miku to help. Miku was well aware of the yearly event but had often fought off or remained hidden well enough that it hadn’t been as traumatic to her as it was for Fran. She agreed and together the pair managed to track down the main perpetrator behind the horrid tradition.
Miku managed to defeat the man behind it all, and freed a large group of young boys who had been captured by the crew of this man. Upon their freedom and having witnessed Miku fight for them, they all offered to join her crew as they had heard she’d become a fearsome pirate in the South Blue. Miku initially balked at the idea but eventually agreed to take them on and commandeered the ship of the slave traders, turnign it into their new home. Miku and Fran parted ways and the group of Centaurea orphans decided to call themselves the “Meddling Kids” as an embracing of their identity as troublesome youths. A call was sent out to the island for those wishing to join the newly formed crew and several other teens answered the call.
The Meddling Kids sailed forth from Centaurea and had several adventures across the South Blue. Growing in strength and reputation, the rowdy bunch eventually met a strange man on a small unnamed island that took interest in them. The man’s name was Gray and he admired their passion and camaraderie. He gave Miku some words of wisdom and pointed her towards a large gathering of pirates that were planning something huge. Little did Miku know she was being given a chance to see what life as a pirate truly meant as enemies to the establishment and that in the grand scheme of things the Meddling Kids were small fish in a truly massive ocean.
Miku joined the assault on Las Camp as part of the distractionary/initial assault of the island. As a lesser known Pirate crew, Miku and her Meddling Kids weren’t given any real details and were simply deployed as cannon fodder. It was during the assault on the docks that Miku and her first mate, Emi, fought against a pair of powerful Marines. One of them, Anton La’croix, gave the pair a hard fought battle which seemed to be favoring the pair. However, Emi left an opening for the Marine to take advantage of and Miku realized that if the attack landed it would be lethal. In a split second decision Miku threw herself in front of Emi and took the blow herself. The attack broke back her defenses and nearly knocked her unconscious in one blow. The Rowdy Rascal managed to rally and knock out Anton, but she soon fell into a blind frenzy continuing to fight aimlessly against anyone near her.
Eventually her crew managed to drag her back to their ship as the call to retreat had been called due to the Marines springing a trap on the invading Pirates. The Meddling Kids narrowly managed to escape the entrapment with their lives. Miku was bed ridden for weeks following the fight as the injury she sustained from Anton had nearly struck her right over her heart. Instead it left a deep wound in her left shoulder that scarred her permanently.
As the Meddling Kids returned to the South Blue, they discovered they had been tracked by the crew of Anton. The two ships exchanged volleys of cannon fire which caused both Anton and Miku to be thrown overboard into the ocean. The pair washed up on a nearby island together and were taken hostage by the inhabitants of the island. They were forced into a strange death game against others who were taken hostage on the island. They were informed they were to fight one another and the winner would gain their freedom as well as a reward. The Marine and Pirate agreed to a temporary truce to put an end to these games as they were both appalled by it.
As the duo fought through numerous challenges together they began to learn more about one another beyond their identities as a Marine and Pirate. Anton slowly grew on Miku as she admitted to him that he’d earned her respect with his strength and ideals. Together they managed to defeat the final contender of the island, though Miku nearly died once again and only survived thanks to Anton. The pair departed from the island with pleasant farewells, though they both knew they’d chosen different paths in life and would cross fists once again.
After experiencing how large the world was and how close to death she had come several times, a doubt began to creep into Miku’s mind. She felt constantly out of her depth and the reckless behavior had nearly gotten her crew killed too many times. The young captain decided to return home for several reasons. The reason she gave her crew as to return home and attempt to clean the island up. They had grown strong as a crew and could go back and fix the problems that those in power refused to. Her personal reason was to return to the root of all her problems and deal with it once and for all. Miku needed to break the chains of her past and unless she ensured her home was safe for those she left behind she’d never be able to lead her crew beyond their sea with confidence.

Her curiosity has gotten her into trouble before and she knows it will only continue to do so.
In combat, Miku’s very straightforward and doesn't rely on deceit to win fights. Instead relying on a mix of speed, strength, and reading her opponent's fighting style. However, she isn't afraid to fight dirty if it means life or death. She rarely will run from a fight, even if she is outmatched and outnumbered. If she ever decides to follow another's lead she will only truly respect them if they prove that they are both strong of body and of heart.
- History:
Miku grew up one of many orphaned children on the island of Centaurea of the South Blue. She had no clue who her parents were and never cared to find out as she quickly realized how rough life on the island was as a small child. She soon developed a taste for violence and would often use it to solve any problems she had with other kids. It wasn’t until she stumbled upon a kind older woman that she learned that girls at age 10 weren’t normally so violent. The elderly woman taught her how to read, write, cook simple meals, and live a more peaceful modest life. Miku soon developed a burning curiosity that got her into as much trouble as her tendency for violence when she would ask innapropriate questions. They spent two years living by the skin of their teeth together and during this time Miku learned that violence wasn’t always the answer to solving problems. Their relationship was comparable to that of a loving grandmother and her mischievous granddaughter. Miku considered these two years the happiest of her life. They were ended however when Marines came into town with an unknown illness infesting their ship. It soon spread among Miku’s impoverished homeland and eventually took the elderly woman away from her. Miku never had a chance to thank the woman who she would forever remember as her Baa-chan.
Back to living on her own she kept scavenging for any books she could find, particularly enjoying mystery novels. Miku also began developing her fighting skills again as she was constantly assaulted by other children for food and other resources. As the years went by Miku became known enough by the locals to be avoided unless someone wanted to lose some teeth and break a few bones. While she loved a good fight she attempted to remain alone, afraid of losing someone she may grow to care about again. This included any gangs that would try to recruit her due to her fighting prowess or the simple fact that she was a woman who may need their protection. Miku learned to distrust men when a small gang attempted to ambush her and force her to “serve” them. While she barely managed to escape that night, thanks to the aid of several other women also being “recruited”, she was traumatised enough to constantly be sceptical of men’s intentions. So she would travel alone in search for work to purchase herself a way off the island. Whether this was alone on a tiny ship, as a temporary crew member, or a simple passenger, all she wanted was to see the world and the mysteries it may hold.
One fateful evening Miku crossed paths with a notorious pirate, Nathaniel "Magic Man" Thorne. The two were following separate leads on a crew of corrupt Marine's that were using the orphaned children of Centauria and selling them to a vile doctor who was performing cruel experiments on them. The two made a temporary alliance to stop the corrupt Marine's and successfully did so. Miku realized she couldn't stay on the island after openly defying the Marine's and left with Nathaniel to avoid bringing the Marine's wrath on any of the children she had take under her wing. After leaving Centauria, Miku parted way's with Nathaniel as she was unsure of being a pirate but was thankful for his help and told him he was considered a friend.
Miku often stowed away or simply served on other's ships to travel the South Blue. As she traveled she saw many cases of corrupt Marine's and often got herself into trouble fighting them. Her constant battles against strong foes allowed her to quickly grow in strength and she discovered that she had a strange ability that allowed her to increase her strength and sense foes from a distance. It was amazing and with some research she discovered it was called Haki. She had no teacher and merely developed her Haki skills through combat and experimentation. After so many battles her shoddy equipment began to fall apart since it had all been put together with left overs she found on her home island. She found a blacksmith that wasn't above working on orders for less savvy people like herself. Miku was surprised to hear this but apparently her constant skirmishes against marines had caused her to gain a reputation, albeit a very small one. They were whispers of the "Rowdy Rascal", a tiny woman who dressed like a boy and fought men who towered over her with ease and relish. At first Miku was insulted but realized that it fit her pretty well. Miku decided to embrace this reputation and decided to fully embrace the life of a pirate. She told the blacksmith to emboss the skull and crossbones onto her gloves to show her resolve to this decision.
Miku now travels with the goal to fight against any corrupt marines that she finds abusing the helpless. While she loves to fight, the endless wandering and constant fear of having to look over her shoulder has begun to get to Miku and she now hopes to join a crew so she could have some trustworthy people to rely on. As long as the Captain is strong of will and refuses to abuse the helpless then Miku would follow her Captain to the end of the world.

I really like how you expanded Miku's bio and included all the completed quests too. I also like the encounter with Gray. Maybe rather than doing a full-on thread for that encounter, we'll do a flashback in a different thread one day.
