Clothing and Accessories:
Sundance's style is very eccentric, born to a mother who made her living as a seamstress, the woman's flamboyant manner of dressing trickled into Sundance since of style and aesthetic. He's often seen wearing a pair of red gloves, which were giving to him by his father, before he went out to sea as a Shipwright on call by the Navy. Sundance's trade mark 'Boat Hat', which is slightly more elongated than traditional wear, features a red ribbon wrapped around it's centre. Most of his outfits are fairly eccentric, he carries around a gigantic backpack, brimming with outfits to suit all climates and occasions. However, Sundance two default outfits are a basic plain white shirt, red 'X' strapped jacket, long red dress pants and with red sneakers with strap clips. His second outfit, his most common attire, lies in a red red string strapped undershirt, a long black jacket, his trademark Boat Hat with a bright crimson ribbon attached around it, long black dress pants and black leather shoes, similar to those worn by Sanji from the original series.
Description:
Sundance can be simply defined as a pretty boy, due to the honest fact that, without close examination, he can be easily mistaken as a girl. One half of a twin, Sundance stands at 6'1 and most of his body mass is muscle, even more so would be if he'd lay off the snacking. His jet black hair appears finely combed but it's actually the least kept aspect of his atheistic. Clear bright emerald green eyes, pale complexion and a devilishly alluring smile are all elements to Sundance's flare. As mentioned above, plastered across his body are several scars gained from scrimmages during his time as a bandit, stealing to survive within the Kano Islands. Not else can be said about Sundance, except for, when standing next to his sister, it's almost impossible to tell them apart.
The Past
Main Traits:
- Cheerful: Even in the most awkward and severe situations, Punch can be seen with a slight grin or smirk on his face. His happy-go-lucky attitude, combined with his flashy manner of dressing, often garners him much unwanted attention even in the simple day to day activities such as grabbing a bite to eat. Everything about him screams vibrant, he's very outspoken when speaking, not known to speak in a soft-tone but neither is he un-necessarily boisterous.
- Robin-hood Complex: When it comes to supporting his friends and family, Punch will often steal from those who are much more fortunate than his immediate circle, living much above his incomes standings in his small village within the grasp of the Happo Navy. He's often seen buying food for orphan children, getting into scraps with corrupt Army Members and all around protector of the weak.
- Childish: This is an element of himself Punch uses to let others around him underestimate his true potential. He's very childish in his mannerisms, often sticking out his tongue or skinning his eye at foes and friends alike. However, Punch is much more calculated than he appears, praised as a quick learner by his successors and his quick fables on life swiftly chiming in, often when need be.
- Hot-Headed: Most of the time, Sundance laughs off fights, he'd rather steal your belongings and go on an islandwide chase than beat the crap out of you or be beaten on. However, once he's witness inexcusable treatment or behaviour, he's that first friend at the bar to throw a punch in the bar-fight. It's noted, that even when fighting opponents stronger than himself, when pissed off, he'll fight to the bitter end, which has lead him to many sentences in jail.

Personality:
Outside of combat, Sundance is a pretty laid back individual. He'll often sleep in high places, keeping a firm concept of everything and everyone around him as he naps but once he's out, the minor details tend not to bother him. He's very thrifty, in the sense that he'll spend someone else's pocket change before he empties his own pockets for anything. If he likes it, he'll steal it. Very jolly and often mistaken as a nitwit for it, his childish like behaviour makes him fun to be around, especially when it comes to feasts, where drinking games are his speciality, though, he's only at the tender age of eighteen, he's already made a name for himself as a boozer. Most occasions, Punch will change his outfit, based on the setting or mode, often doing it almost effortlessly in seconds. Sundance is incredibly bad with women, it's almost painful watching him interact with them, sober or intoxicated. He gets incredibly shy, jittery and often tries to play it off by treating women in a very friendly, plutonic matter. When dealing with eccentric characters, or females like his sister for instance, who often dotted on him when he was younger, he doesn't cope very well with forward women. Aside from this factor, every other personality factor, whether it be giving a word of advice and lunging into combat, he handles it all with an air of confidence.
Punch hates to see those around him being treated rudely or unfairly, he'll play devil's advocate to obtain a conclusion or behaviour that's acceptable by all parties present. Though childish, Sundance won't really go out of his way to begin contact with others when it comes to physical contact, he's not a very touchy person, though he wears his personality on his sleeve nine times out of ten. Some of his responses can come off a bit condescending at times, that's generally when he's trying to fluster or intimidate personages around him into spilling information, making him in a sense controlling of his environment. In combat, Sundance is a completely hot-head with his actions, not a wild fighter in nature, he puts quite a bit of weight behind his punch, no pun intended. He's very limber, often times trading up hits as opposed to avoiding them, utilizing mid-range and close range combat to scope out his enemy. Aside from these factors, his mannerism of speech is fairly crude, nothing fancy about his words unless needed and he ends all of his sentences with 'Dara', it's more of a family habit than a conscious action. His laugh pattern is odd, exclaiming in bursts of the utterance, 'Hishi Hishi'.
- History:
- Act I - The Devil At The Ball
Born to a seamstress with a revolutionary for a father and a shipwright who never knew his own father, Punch was born as a twin into a interesting family dynamic. Punch's father, Jing was a famed shipwright in Kano, serving the Happo Army for almost twenty years before shipping out of his hometown to design a new model of ship for the Navy in the adolescent segment of Punch's upbringing. His mother, Isabella is the main influence on Punch's personality, having a wacky and often times, too childish attitude towards life. She was all about freedom, Anti-Government and very liberal in her beliefs on music, religion and of course, fashion. A mother of two, at the young age of twenty, herself and Jing lived in a small village under the Happo's Army's ruling for most of their life. However, she and Jing had met in the market district of Kano's Capital City, years prior before falling for each other. They had a lovey-dovey type comedy act running through most of Punch's and his sister, Bella, childhood, often time making the brother and sister, severely embarrassed. However, peace wasn't something that stayed too long in the young Sundance family's life. At the age of five, Kano entering into a war with neighbouring countries over control of various lands in the area, the current head of the Kano Empire, was a famous New World Pirate, who went by the name of Lao Kong. Kong while expanding his name and fame throughout the New World, left his core protégée back in the Blues to run his Empire, having no actual family or children of his own. Sundance's father was drafted by the Happo Army for the conquest, as a solider and due to the long campaign's, it was then that Sundance would begin to see his father, less and less, until eventually, he'd end up leaving Kano for work by the time he was the age of ten. His mother worked her hardest to support both her children, both emotionally and financially, never really mentioning their father much, as they got older, due to the sad expression they'd make when his name was brought up. However, Isabella still loved Jing with all of her heart but explained that regardless of the dream, you must chase it. This concept made no immediate sense to Punch, as he had no real interest in anything except for reading books or listening to old wise tales from the older village men. At the age of eleven, Isabella got extremely ill, unable to continue with her seamstress work, Sundance and Bella took to the streets, becoming known among the neighbouring villages as 'Yokai Duo', dressing up in white kimono's and robbing convoy's to and from the main capital. Using the funds, the brother and sister where able to sustain pretty decent living for a few years, that was until, one of the heir's to the Happo Army throne took an interest in Bella's beauty, commanding her to become his wife. Due to the difference in noble class, many of the Army's top brass where against this marriage, however, Kong, after his long campaign had returned and quelled all noises about the union. It was at this age, they moved from the quiet village of Ho-oh, to the main capital city.
Punch and Kong became extremely close, his mouthy attitude and girlish looks amused Kong greatly, referring to the teenage as 'prettier than his own sister' in jest to tease Punch. Kong began to teach Punch Hasshoken, at first on a whim but eventually after seeing the child's raw potential, he was generally intrigued. The wedding was set, Punch's sister was married to the heir to the Happo Army, Kong retired as the nations leader, opting to train new recruits in the Army so he wouldn't loose his edge. Later this same year, Punch's mother passed away from a terminal illness, exiting this world with a smile on her face. This set the pace for the next series of unfortunate events, Ilusia and Kano, once allies went to war over the King of Ilusia's jealousy towards Kano's Ruler, primarily due to the beauty of his wife. This made several members who had already grudged Bella in the court, to hate her even more, even going as far to attempt to poison the young Queen. Punch became extremely enraged at this fact, rampaging in the court and severely injuring several nobles who'd been rumoured to be connected to his sister's assassination attempt. An all-out invasion commenced on Kano, the seven day conflict, known as Hell's Week, resulted in mass casualties on both sides, Kong had been killed during the conflict. Punch feeling extremely guilty for being unable to save Kong, abandoned the Capital City and his sister's side, to live in solitude. He'd spend his time, drinking, sleeping and living as a hermit, not truly interacting with others until the age of fifteen. Inheriting his mother's sense of fashion, Punch made a decent living off selling clothes of the weirdest fashion's to nobles all across the West Blue. Coming to grips with the death of Kong, his sister invites him to a ball in the Main Capital, to which, he initially refuses but haven't seeing his sister in years, he decided to attend. It was at this ball, the Heir of Kano announced that they'd be once again entering into an alliance with Ilusia. Flabbergasted, Punch voice his opinion in a very crude manner, attacking several high ranking officers who tried to subdue him. Due to his sisters pleas, he was pardoned for his outburst but in the next coming months, Ilusia Armies began behind the scenes, human trafficking women and soldiers alike for Underworld Broker. The Heir of Kano knew of these activities but turned a blind eye, at the time, something Punch saw as unforgivable.Act II - Blindsided
Punch began intercepting several of the human trafficking rings, never officially a soldier of the Happo Army, Punch formed his own brigade of bandits, responsible for stealing, gold, food and free slaves from Ilusia and Happo Army's factions. The heir urged Punch to cease his actions immediately but after ignoring the command, a bounty was placed on the teenager's head at sixteen. Wearing his father's old Boat Hat, with a few modifications, it was then he garnered the moniker, Red Ribbon, or Kurenai for short. Planning a small coup, Punch and his men raided the main capital, in attempts of knocking sense into Happo's Heir, however, Punch discovered that his sister had been infected with rare virus, the likes of which, only Ilusia doctors knew about curing. Obviously they would, they'd purposely injected the Queen with the virus, holding the antidote ransom to obtain the truce. Devastated, Punch fell to his knees, apologizing repeatedly to the Heir for not understanding his position. Acting on his own, Punch breaks into the Ilusia Stronghold desperately fighting for his sisters life, with the only thing he knew how to do, fight. However, it was a trap. The Heir of Kano was in on it all along, attempting to kill his own wife, for a younger, much more, beautiful model. Punch and the Heir break into combat, resulting in Punch's defeat, leaving a serious wound gash on his back which almost took away his ability to walk. Punch was sentenced to be held below the castle in Kano's capital, to be executed later on that year. During this time, the Queen plotted, managing to let her brother escape, at the cost of her own life. Shipped to him, was a chest containing a letter and a Devil Fruit. After reading the letter, Sundance broke down into tears. His sister and mother were gone, he'd led his band of bandits to their death and the weight of grief on his heart was immense. The Revolutionary caught word of the situation, intervening in Ilusia, breaking the alliance with Kano. Now that the Queen was dead, he'd had no real reason to maintain the alliance. With the rebels at their back, the current Heir took over the Underground Trade which grew due to the former alliance.Act III - The Devil That You Know
Biting into the Devil Fruit given to him by his sister, the horrible taste caused Punch to throw up immediately on the second bite. Within moments, Punch had discovered that everything around him was causing a chemical reaction with his body. A liquid substance dripped from his body, and unbeknownst to him, the power's of the San San No Mi, the Acid Fruit, turned him into an Acid Human. Training in secrecy for two final years, Punch launched his final assault on Kano's Capital, the attack garnered him the head of Kano's Army. This victory instantly earned the former bandit the status of Supernova, due to the over 200,000,000 Million dollar bounty that lied on top of the Heir's head. Coming to peace with everything that had transpired, Sundance left Kano with a smile, obtaining a ship from one of his father's old Shipwright buddies, beginning his journey on the West Blue.

R.I.P. Bella and Isabella. Long live Jing (the name does seem kinda off with a last name like "Sundance") and Punch.
