Summary: The day has finally come! With his training finally complete, and his teacher, Don Zen'nin-sha leaving to go visit old friends out in Paradise, it was now time for Joey to officially start his new life as a pirate! Of course he would need to handle some things before setting off such as saying goodbye to the people he has grown close to here on this island, grab some supplies, a rowboat to start things off most importantly, and have one last meal(s) at his favorite small family run restaurant, "Ramen De Lucio." Unfortunately, it seems like five old "friends" of the store owner decided to pay a visit demanding their "cut" or bad things will happen. Joey who is witnessing all of this must now put all his training to work in what will be his first serious battle!
Who will come out victorious, and could there actually be more to this small disturbance!?
Baterilla Island, last night.
Stars shined on this peaceful night here on this island, accompanying the moon in illuminating the area. Those who take residence here were fast asleep, getting lost in their dreams, and such. All except for an elderly looking six foot tall light skinned man with a clear bald head, a gray beard that reaches down to his chest, and eyes the always appeared to be closed. He wore some worn out clothes, and walked with a wooden cane. He slowly made his way to an edge of the island, passing that lighthouse that towers over the area towards a small wooden rowboat. He stood there for a moment, looking down at the boat as it "danced" some in the water with a peaceful smile on his face. His eyes rose up some as he heard the sound of footsteps creeping up from behind him, slowly shaking his head shortly after they stopped. "Isn't it pass your curfew, squirt?" the old man said in a raspy voice. The blond male teen standing behind him frowned some before folding his arms behind the back of his head. "Oh come on now. I'm not a squirt anymore. I'm sixteen!" the teen claimed with a grin before tilting his head some. "Besides, I wanted to see ya off. Would be weird not to huh, Mr.Zen?" the teen claimed only for the one he referred to as Zen to sigh. Again, it is Zen'nin-sha, not just Zen." the old man went on, turning some to glance at the teen. "Yeah, but that's a mouthful!" the teen claimed with another small frown on his face only for the old man to glance at him quietly for a bit until he broke out into a small fit of that weird laughter of his.
"SHOLOLOLOL LO LO SHOOOOOLO"
The teen would tilt his head to the other side, and start to snicker a bit. The way Zen laughed always brought a smile to Joey's face, brought a smile to a lot of people's faces here. Once the laughing was done, Zen raised his cane up a bit, and tapped it on the ground enough to make a noise that caused the blond teen to stand up straight with his head held up some, and arms to his side. Zen glanced at the teen a bit before turning to face the boat again, now making his way towards it once more. "Make sure you do not cause TOO much trouble during my absence. You hear me?" Zen said only for the golden eyed teen to respond with a "Nooooo promises!" while still standing up straight, a grin on his face following shortly after. Zen laughed a bit until he made it into his boat, placing the cane to his side, and giving one last look to the teen. "Sure you don't want to come with me, squirt? Paradise has quite the interesting places. The teen flailed his arms a bit at the old man. "Hey! I said I'm not a squirt anymore! Also, no thanks!" he said, going from flailing to crossing his arms with a determined smirk on his face. "I'm gonna get there myself one day with my own crew once I get one of course. I'll be an amazing pirate just like you!" he claimed with a nod. "Sholol, that is exactly what I wanted to hear." Zen said before exchanging a nod of his own. "Ye-wait how are you going to get there in that small thing?" the teen questioned, referring to the boat, only for Zen to look at him puzzled as if he didn't know what he was talking about before smiling reassuringly. "Oh, don't you worry about me, Joey. I still have my connections." Zen claimed as he started to row the boat off. "Hey! I told ya, it-oh wait you said it right this time!"
"Sholo, if you do make it there, come visit me in Alabasta, Squirt! Don't go dying on me! I would love to see how strong you've gotten!" Zen said as he rowed off, his laughter filling the night sky while Joey waved him farewell. "Alrighty it's a promise! Don't worry Mr.Zen! I won't fail ya! Joey claimed, finally lowering his arm as Zen grew farther, and farther from view. "I won't fail you neither...Mei" he said quietly with a small smile before raising his head up to realize something.
"HEY! I SAID I'M NOT A SQUIRT ANYMORE!!"

The following morning...
It was another beautiful day here in Baterilla. The sun was out shining down on the earth with barely any clouds in sight, making it very easy to see the wonderful light blue sky above. The people who reside here were out, and about going on with their daily activities, and jobs. Families were out enjoying themselves, couples could be seen holding hands, and children played in the parks as their parents watched happily. This island only seemed to have its up moments, and never any downs, never having to deal with big conflicts....save for some very hyper children, and a certain blond haired teen...
"Woah, you serious!? That Don Zen guy is actually gone?" a middle aged man said to another as they sat on the steps of a building. The other man nodded before saying, "Yeeup. Think he had business he needed to attend to or something? Either way, gonna miss that strange laugh of his." followed with a sigh. "Yeah. Wasn't he the same guy who would make everyone on this island that special tea? Chunjo...Cheenjun...something?" "Yeeup. Could never remember the name of it myself, but that there was some damn good tea." the two conversed, ending it with light chuckles. Don Zen'nin-sha was a well respected man here both for his jolly like personality, and giving nature. A lot of people were upset when they found out he had to leave, but they couldn't just stand around, and mope about the past! As the two men continued to talk they would stop as they heard yelling! The two confusingly turned around, and looked up the road like area that went up in a slope like fashion. Three children could be seen sliding down quickly on the slope in trash can lids. If one wasn't too distracted by the dangerous stunt they were doing they could obviously spot the...weird attire their heads. One boy who rode his trash lid like a snowboard with an adventurous expression drawn on his face wore a helmet that obviously resembles a carrot. Another which was a girl wore a pumpkin with bat wings on each said as her helmet giggled as she rode her lid down the slope as if it were a sleigh while the last boy who wore a cabbage on his head screamed in terror as the lid he sat on just continued to spin around, and around as he went down, all three of them nearly missing people on the path as well.
"Welp, looks like those kids are at it again!" one of the guys stated as he rubbed the back of his head. "Yeeeup, but they seem to be one person short. Wonder where Jo-" before he could finish, the straw hat wearing golden eyed blond teen himself came rolling down the sidewalk instead of the path....riding on a dumpster instead while yelling, "Weeeeeeeee!!!" riding past those very stairs, leaving behind a trail of wind....and stench of garbage. The two men simply looked at those four riding off into the distance before they heard the yelling of a grumpy looking man with a pointy mustache wearing waiter clothing trying his best to keep up with those four hooligans, but to no avail. The two men on the stairs then looked to each other, and started to laugh.
"Only in Baterilla, I tell ya what."
For a few hours, Joey, and those three kids continued at it. Riding down everywhere they could, causing all sorts of chaos until they finally crashed into the side of a building! Nobody was hurt luckily, but there was now tons, and TONS of garbage littered against the side of said building. "Oi...." Joey emerged his head from the trash, hair littered with garbage as he blinked confusingly before turning his head left, and right quickly. "Hey! CarroTop, Pumpkaboo, Cabbage Patch you guys okaaayyy!?" he'd yell out, the three kids finally emerging from the trash with different expressions on their faces. "That was awwwweeessommmmeee! Can we do it again!? CarroTop asked enthusiastically only for Cabbage Patch to emerge while shaking his head quickly. "No no no! We could have died! Plus it was really scary...." Joey just watched as the two boys started to bicker only for Pumpkaboo to rise out of the trash with tears in her eyes, causing the two boys to stop. "Pumpkaboo?" Joey said, tilting his head. This was the first he'd ever seen her cry as she was normally the giggly type. "Y-y-you're not really leaving today...ar-are you?" she'd look up to the blond with tears in her eyes, the other two boys simply looking away as they were obviously thinking the same. Joey looked at all three of them with a frown on his face. The four of them have been through a lot of shenanigans over the years, so it was understandable that this hurts....It hurts Joey as well. "Hey." Joey leaned over, and picked the girl up, placing her on his shoulder as the other two looked back up. "I'm starvin! Sure you guys are too. So how's about we all head on over to Ramen De Lucio? Questionable noodles, but BEST tacos on the island!" with that, Pumpkaboo wiped the tears from her eyes, and gave a small smile as the other two also cheered up, CarroTop looking pumped as ever while Cabbage Patch grinned.
Unfortunately before they could go, the owner of this building finally came over towards the mess on the side of her building with arms crossed, and various cleaning equipment on each side of her, glaring at the four hooligans as they started to chuckle sheepishly....
