- Snow: The cold blanket of snow is more of a death trap rather than a winter wonderland.
- Training: Training is at the bottom of the list for Nova, it's repetitive and very hard. There are better and unknown ways to become strong

Hometown: Loguetown
Personality:
- Nova:
- Analytical and calm are two words that may come to mind if one were to ask about Nova. Each of her actions are well planned out and executed to the best of her abilities. In addition to this, her calm persona allows her to think rationally in the face of any danger or fear she may feel. Even in her daily life, she often makes plans and analyzes details to see whether it may bring out the best results or not. What she considers as the best results may often differ due to the fact Nova is morally ambiguous. Often she will be willing to commit acts that may be seen as morally incorrect by some people yet at the same times, her actions do not always tend to be considered as evil and can be beneficial.
Even so, Nova is generally very easy going and friendly, unable to get annoyed easily. Similarly, she often enjoys teasing others, often in the form of light-hearted banter. She isn't one to submit, due to her more assertive personality. She doesn't tolerate if someone pushes or mistreat her and if so be more than willing to get into a conflict with the other person, whether physical or verbally. Sarcasm is an important trait of her speech, often using it to express her feelings of frustration or in rare cases annoyance. Most of the time, however, Nova will use sarcasm simply to poke fun at others.
Her outlook on life is more pessimistic than optimistic. She does not believe in a future where everyone can have their dreams come true but rather life is unfair and only favors certain people. Nova does not have confidence in her skills either, often finding herself questioning herself. While largely having a bleak view, there are also cases where her optimism shines through as well. She has high hopes for others, not including herself. Often she believes that there are rare days where everyone can be happy and go according to plan. Nova does not express her pessimistic views towards anyone but rather sends messages of hope instead so people around her could benefit from her faux positive attitude.
Nova also tends to be on the stubborn side. Her decisions are quick and almost impossible to change. Normally no amount of convincing will even make her consider changing her views. In addition to this, she is also very determined. Once she puts her mind to a task there will be no such thing as going back. She will continue to try until she is physically unable to do so anymore or if she completes it all together. Nova's patience almost seems limitless, able to wait long periods of time before she begins to complain if ever. Nova also tends to be quite secretive when it comes to her own personal information, often giving vague answers or simply dismissing claims. Yet at the same time, if one were to trust her with a secret she would protect it to the best of her abilities, making her reliable when it comes to sharing secrets.
Within combat, her personality does not change very much. Her calm and analytical mind is shown to be much more prominent as she can be heard muttering what she concludes. Her mind also begins to grow much sharper, allowing her to make quick and decisions that will vary in precision. Her stubbornness also carries through in combat. Unless her life is truly in danger she finds herself unable to give up until her opponent is defeated. If she finds that she will die, her mind will immediately focus on preserving her life rather than whether she wins or not. She will take extreme caution when it comes to combat, constantly thinking each of her actions out and analyzing whether it would be the safest or most logical action.
Nova's decisions will also account for any allies she may possess. She does not simply think for herself but rather the well-being of her allies and anyone that may seem beneficial for her. Yet when faced with a life or death situation where she has to choose between her life or someone else' she will, without hesitation, choose her own life. Nova does not feel either sadness or guilt in fighting, building onto her moral ambiguity. Regardless, Nova believes communication is an important portion of combat and will often speak to her opponent, although she understands it would be crucial to stay on her toes at all times. Her sarcasm also extends to combat, often making deadpan snarks when something goes wrong for her opponent.
- History:
- A relationship between a Pirate and Marine was very rare to hear about in the present day, often due to the fact that the two were seen as mortal enemies. Yet her pirate father had somehow wooed her marine mother into falling in love with him. The love they felt was genuine, and one that they had to keep a secret from the world government, lest they both get in trouble for this forbidden affair. It was a miracle in itself how no one learned of this relationship, especially since her mother soon got pregnant. True panic sunk in once the truth was revealed. Their relationship was put in the spotlight for the world. A physical manifestation of their love existed peacefully inside the women. Their lives would go to hell if their true parentage were revealed. In an effort to protect the woman, her father sailed off, never to be seen by her mother again.
As it would turn out, her mother produced not one child, but two. They were twins, a male, and female, both almost holding hands at the time of their birth. She named the brother Aizen, after his father who she never saw again. The sister was named Nova, as she had spotted a beautiful display in the night. Vowing the cherish the two forever, she cradled them in her arms as she began her first day as a mother to two beautiful twins. She had many plans for the future for the two, planning to raise them both to become powerful marines and possible even scourge the oceans for missing father.
Growing up, Nova lived a very calm life. Her life was no different than a regular child. She spent a large portion of her childhood playing with her brother and all other friends she had. Only after she turned ten was when she and her brother began to train to become Marines. Nova did not care much about training as she simply viewed it as a burden, while Aizen had loved the training. Cherishing with all he could. Due to this, her brother was viewed more favorably than her, although she did not mind as it simply meant more time for her to play. But during that time, the forbidden secret was released. The truth behind the twin's parentage was released to the marine base upon the island they lived in which would nearly ruin their reputation.
Her mother was nearly jailed for aiding in the escape of a wanted pirate and nearly fired for not doing her job. Fortunately for the family, one of her mother's coworkers, a woman named Crimson defended her. She claimed that her mother at first did not know about the relationship as she was simply a newcomer. The pirate had brainwashed her in an effort to seduce her and force her into a relationship she did not unconsciously want. The twins' birth was simply an aftermath of this accident. The plan had worked as the family was let free, but not without serious reputation damage. It was on that day, Nova lost the mother she once loved.
Her mother struggled to rebuild her reputation. Regaining honor with her superiors was almost impossible to do. She began to fall victim to gaslighting. She began to doubt whether the love she shared with the pirate was even real. Eventually, she would completely accept the fact that her love was simply an illusion. Often she would curse herself for falling for the likes of him and even began to regard her children as mistakes. Nova no longer had a lenient mother and was no longer able to get away without training. It wasn't a choice for her to become a marine, but it was a path chosen for her. One that she hated.
Nova trained under Crimson, an expert at the fighting style of Rokushiki, while her brother was exclusively trained by her mother in swords. While she still disliked training in general, Nova gained a new appreciation of fighting underneath Crimson. She was a kind teacher, who would support her and almost never got angry. She eventually became more of a mother figure to Nova than her actual biological mother. Even so, she continued to struggle through many techniques of Rokushiki, but their training would take a different turn. Nova would master only the techniques that she excelled at while she could forget about the others. Within a matter of four years, Nova was shaped into an excellent fighter.
While Nova was now viable in a fight, she still retained the same ideology of not becoming a marine she had possessed since she was young. The life wasn't simply for her, she didn't like doing everything in the name of the law. The four years of training helped fortify that. While her teacher had accepted the idea, believing she had another destiny in front of her. Her mother and brother refused to accept this. Her mother was furious that after all these years of training, Nova would be willing to throw her hard work away. She was constantly told that she would end up like her father, as a pirate. Her brother did not say anything while she was being yelled at. Instead, Aizen simply watched their mother scream at her.
Finally, something within Nova snapped. During one of their arguments, she screamed at her mother, calling her "one of the government's dogs" before slapping her and running out of the house. She knew there was no going back at this point. She went to the first place she could think of, Crimson's house. She began to talk to her teacher about everything, the arguments, her desire to escape her destiny as a marine and simply escape her mother. While she did not personally agree with Nova's plans, she was still supportive and even decided to help her escape.
Nova would not go home that night. Instead, that morning she would leave the town she lived in all her life. Crimson had spoken to a few merchants who were originally from the South Blue to allow her to hitch a ride on their cargo, offering them a lucrative amount of money as a bribe which they accepted. Before she left Loguetown, she was given a bag with something inside. She was ordered not to eat whatever was inside until her life was in actual serious danger. When she looked inside the bag, it was some strange sort of fruit. While she was tempted to go against her orders, Nova forced herself to obey it.
The journey to South Blue wasn't easy. Pirates attempted to attack the ship, yet Nova would aid in defending them. She was only lucky the pirates that tried to raid the ship appeared to be new at fighting. During the middle of the journey, a storm appeared and tossed the ship up and down, and at one point it nearly capsized. They were fortunate to survive. There were a countless amount of times where her life was in danger yet she never ate the fruit Crimson gave her. She knew, her there would be more dangerous moments where she would need to eat the fruit. This was not one of those instances.
Finally, after about a long time on the ocean, they finally arrived in South Blue, specifically the island of Baterilla. Nova decided to stay in Baterilla, starting a new life here. She would find herself getting a career at a local bar as a waitress where she would work until the thin peace she had built up would disappear.
