Island Description: Apodis

Description: Apodis modern city-state ruled island-country (ruled in the same way as Singapore). The island itself is long stretched with each of the wider sides lining up with the Calm Belt - Grand Line boundary. The Grand Line side to the South is where Apodis Port is positioned, while the Calm Belt side to the North is mostly uninhabited. The total population of the island is approximately 15 million, but the slums alone could be home to as much as an extra 5 million people.

True to it's position in the Grand Line area, Apodis Port is home to some crazy weather phenomena. The weather is usually relatively stable, but it is far from uncommon that huge storms hit the island from the South. However, on the Northern side of the island the weather is always nice and calm, and with it's sandy beaches Apodis, although being a relatively unknown island, is a popular vacation destination. The clash of the calm and stormy weather creates rather extreme tides around the island, especially the beaches on the Northern side get affected by this, which is why that side is mostly uninhabited.

A large part of the Eastern tip of the island is where the suburban slum is located, as well as where all waste Apodis Port produces gets transported to. The people who live there are (of course) very poor, and are generally looked down upon by the urban citizens. The western part of Apodis, making up almost half of the islands total area, is mostly unexplored due to regulations made by the world government. Exactly what secrets are hidden in the forests there are currently unknown. A few brave souls have attempted to unearth it's secrets, but so far no one has, officially, made it back alive.
