Personality:
Muse is a Dwarf with a warm heart and an insatiable curiosity for life. He likes to seek out new experiences and meet new people, but is entirely non-cautious in a way that often gets him in trouble. It’s very easy for a Dwarf to forget that bad people exist, sometimes. Like many from his race, Muse is extremely gullible and liable to believe anything he’s told without question. He did not inherit the racial desire to follow rules, however, often choosing to defy them for the sake of adventure.
Despite his adventurous spirit, Muse harbors a deep-seated ambition to become a great doctor. This aspiration adds a layer of compassion and empathy to his personality, as he dreams of using his knowledge to heal and help others. His medical interest also instills in him a sense of responsibility and a desire to learn, although his non-cautious nature can sometimes clash with the discipline required in the medical field.
Muse's defiance of rules, driven by his thirst for adventure, is tempered by his medical aspirations. He understands the importance of guidelines in healthcare, which creates an odd dynamic in his personality, balancing his rebellious tendencies with a respect for structure where it matters.
Muse is a pint-sized bundle of energy and is very affectionate and loyal towards those that he considers friends. Discovering that he's been lied to, however, is a surefire way to see his sunny disposition cloud over, and he's quick to sever ties with those who wrong him, depending on the severity. He also thrives on social interaction and is always eager to share his latest adventures with anyone willing to listen. Beneath his bubbly exterior lies a surprisingly resilient spirit; Muse may stumble into trouble, but he always bounces back, ready for whatever comes next with a smile and an open heart.
In combat situations, Muse's non-cautious nature and gullibility can be both a strength and a weakness. His unpredictability and boldness can catch opponents off guard, but his tendency to believe anything can also make him vulnerable to being tricked. However, his medical knowledge gives him an edge, as he can quickly tend to his own injuries or those of his friends.
- History:
Muse was born within the Tontatta Tribe on Green Bit, and had a rather happy, normal childhood, for a Dwarf. He spent his child years playing, and by the time he was 13, he was placed in an apprenticeship with one of the Tontatta Kingdom's lead Botanists along with a few other children. He admittedly loved the role-- working with plants was a given for any Dwarf, but he took special interest in a specific variety of plants-- Medicinal herbs. He steadily grew absorbed with specifically studying any medicinal plant he heard of, and looking for medicinal uses in plants that were not known to have any. At some point, he stopped paying attention to his tasks as an apprentice, altogether--
After about a year and two journals worth of notes later, one of the more prominent doctors on their home island took interest in his work and invited him to come along with him instead, curious to see if Muse's obsessive interest would spread to other medicinal matters. Naturally, it did. Muse fit right into a new apprenticeship under the doctor and set right to trying to absorb all the information he could.
A few years later, when Muse was 16, he started feeling antsy, again. He'd learned so much in his apprenticeship, and he'd gone through tons of medical textbooks, 'borrowed' from the shelves of inhabitants in the nearby kingdom of Dressrosa, but he just wasn't getting that fulfilled feeling, anymore. He knew why-- Despite his size, Green Bit was just too small. He wanted, needed, to go out in the world. To see more, to do more, to be more.
There was a small group near the docks in Dressrosa he'd been getting to know-- they had always been friendly towards him, and often gave him new books. They were only ever there in the dead of night, and always had their boat hidden behind some outcroppings, but they always had to coolest wares with them. It was only later that he learned they were called 'smugglers'.
At that time, as he was explaining his woes to them, he was immediately offered a spot on their little crew. He'd have the chance to leave the island, see more, and do more, exactly as he'd wanted-- he'd just have to help them out with their jobs for a while... And for a Dwarf, what an easy job it was. He didn't hesitate to take their offer, barely wasting time to say goodbye to his family. It only got easier after he came across a strange fruit during one of his missions-- he didn't know what a devil fruit was at the time, but the nice colors and pattern had easily enticed him to take a bite. He'd been pretty hungry, anyway.
Despite losing his ability to swim, he took right to the abilities of the Pocket Pocket fruit, loving just how easy things got when he could store the smuggled goods within his little subspaces. The rest of the crew loved it, too. They started taking on harder, riskier jobs. And with those completed as well, the risk would increase, as would the money. Soon enough, they were all getting cocky-- the crew he knew before weren't quite acting like themselves anymore. Aggressive, demanding, condescending... It was like they were starting to see him as a tool and nothing more.
The final straw came as the leader of the group showed him their latest cargo-- slaves. Muse was disgusted and refused, demanding they be released, but the leader wasn't having it. Never had Muse been so glad that he couldn't store living things in his pockets. Still, he couldn't leave things as they were. He waited until the crew drank themselves into a stupor, as they did so often in those days, and released the slaves, himself. He lead led them to the spare Dingy and let them go their own way from there.
The leader of the smugglers was furious, the following morning. Muse stood his ground, even as he was smacked around for the first time in his life. He took the blows with a stubborn expression, repeating that the crew needed to reflect on their actions. The last he remembered of the altercation was the leader suddenly grabbing him and throwing him to the sea. He remembered finding it so funny, even as he sank, simply because... In his fruit ability's pockets, he had stored the entirety of the crew's fortune. Near 50 million berries, and he'd now take it with him to the depths.
...Or so, he would have. By some string of fate, he'd found himself washed up on an island, instead. It looked like he'd be starting his adventure anew... Hopefully on the right path, this time.

[approve]Muse is absolutely adorable. I hope he can find a crew he can trust again. Might not be difficult given his tendency to trust easily. But, I also hope that the next crew will deserve such trust.
I also love that the Pocket-Pocket Fruit is being used by a pocket-sized individual.
Also, side note, be careful not to accidentally delete the closing [inlinecode]</div>[/inlinecode] tags from the templates. It can mess with the layout of the rest of the page. I've corrected it in your post, so you're all good here.[/approve]
