Founded in 1829 by the boxer turned marine, Rear Admiral Ryoichi Ayugai, the Blue Fist Academy is home to not just the boxers of the wide world, but to all forms of hand-to-hand and close weapon combatants. It is a place for newly recruited and currently serving marines to come to hone their knowledge in the arts of close combat, and perhaps, stay to become instructors themselves.
In the Blue Fist Academy, a form does not have to stay on its own. One does not have to be or become a master of just one. It has been said that drawing wisdom from different places is important. If you take it from only one place it becomes rigid and stale. Understanding the other forms of martial arts can help you become whole.
As a branch of the Navy, the Academy attends missions like any other Marine crew. At other times, the crew functions more like a martial arts dojo, focusing on training and sparring. Included in rigorous martial arts training is also the basic knowledge and understanding of the Navy's way of life.

- Born and thrown away to be orphaned, Amadeus was luckily found by a lower middle-class caring family who adopted him. Amadeus certainly did not adopt the strict and authoritative mannerisms of the family. Rather he seems to radiate positivity wherever he is. So far, it's unwavering.
He is what some consider a 'prodigy' showing signs of strength already from a young age. That led him to be personally trained by a hired martial artist and later be recruited into the Navy. He gained the rank of Lieutenant while only being 19 years of age.
Being given the rank of master of the Blue Fist Academy has become a welcomed challenge and a big honor to uphold. That has led Amadeus to give his best to pass what he knows to all those who wish to learn.

- Born into a strict but fair Stenham family, Lucinda is as close to her parents in manner as possible.
She always insists people be respectful to her and others. She has been seen to be a sort of a suck-up to higher-ups. Like any other professional has standards regarding when, where, and how much to suck up to someone. Some say she shows vulnerability to those she deems to be close.
Being the master of the Blue Fist Academy is something she is not that fond of. She continues to hold a certain grudge toward her higher-up, Rear Admiral Ayugai. She was part of a trade package to him remaining in the Navy. That aside, she does not complain about it but rather tries to find a bright side and make the best of her current situation.

- Born and raised on an island near Wano, Daichi had a simple childhood. He had always been taller than local kids his age. As he became older, his appetite for food grew, and thus his size began to grow. Being bigger than most, he knew he could overpower anyone his age, so became a bully.
Worried about their son's health and behavior, Daichi's parents forced him into different kinds of sports, one of which was sumo. Despite not enjoying it his entire youth, he was very successful at it. Compared to his health, which became better thanks to a nutritious diet, his behavior did not change much. Instead of incorporating his talent into self-defense, he used it to become a bigger bully, a delinquent. Sake, food, women, and sumo were the order of things he liked.
One day he graved for fish. Strong wind, strong sun, strong sake... But no fish. Daichi fell asleep on the fishing boat. Strong tides drifted him further and further away from his home into the unknownst. Upon waking up, he did not know where he was, nor which way was back home.
Having resulted in begging for money, he was one day scouted by a Navy officer who saw potential in him and recruited him. The Navy has truly been a humbling experience where he got to reflect on his life a lot. It had shifted his view on life, leading him to become more carefree and gentle, unlike the bully he was... His appetite for food however remained.
Having graduated at the same time as Lucinda Stenham, he was assigned to the same branch as she was, and later on, served under her as her Lieutenant. Due to certain moments in recent history, Daichi has been assigned the rank of master in the Blue Fist Academy.
