Jaxon Black
Basic Character Information
First Name: Jaxon
Middle Name/Initial:
Last Name: Black

Birthdate: 1808
Gender: Male
Species/Race/Tribe: Human
Faction: Bounty Hunter
Profession: Scam Artist, Negotiator

Clothing and Accessories: A navy-blue overcoat of the highest quality, silk with even darker berri motives subtly embroidered in at the bottom. Underneath his shirt is a golden necklace holding a small brilliantly-shining gem. The final accesories are a couple of small golden earrings and a single ring on his right hand, which seems to be a promise ring.

Dislikes: Losing money in any way, loud people, dumb people
Unique laugh: Gyi-yi-yi-!

Personality: Perhaps one of the giveaways is his suspiciously soothing smile, or his hands which are behind his back most of the time, or the way he shows no malicious intent when he approaches. Jaxon spends most of his free time reading books to deepen his well of knowledge. He takes his free time very serious, often getting upset when people bother him when he is resting or reading. This, however, is not his personality when he is working. During 'work' he can be found at the undeground gambling dens, tip-toeing around the shady figures of the dark side of Ilisia, buttering up to them. Ass-kissing the big wigs, while scouting potential targets, getting friendly with them, all with the goal of getting a couple of Berri from them. In day-to-day life many people don't see through Jaxon's facade. No friendship he forms is real from the start, he only forms bond with the goal of getting something from it, he will lie and deceive to get what he wants, from anyone.
In battle, the worst of his personality comes out. He has no pride, he has no limits as he will use every dirty trick in the book to get the edge over his opponent. When there is an opening, he will exploit it without remorse. Everything to win and survive, that is what battle is, survival no matter the cost.
- History:
Most people see Ilisia as a exquisite place to be, thriving and succesful. However, those who really lived there knew what kind of place it was. Jaxon knew first-hand, born to a small-time crook and the woman he was with at the time in the lower-class area of Ilisia. Jacks, was the name of his father, Jacks the Confident. He got that epithet, because of the confidence he had while scamming people out of their money, mostly tourists. Jaxon's mother was a woman of pleasure. Very common among those who did not go the scholarly path, that was how he was born actually. Katarin, that was the name of his mother. His mother and father weren't together long, perhaps a couple of weeks after he was born, they seperated. As such, he was constantly switching between his mother and his father, not like his father actually freed time to be with his son.
Time had passed. Jaxon was 8, their situation had not become much better, worse even. The undeground loan sharks were pressuring people into taking loans and then having them pay it back thricefold, evil stuff. This in turn caused many to be set back financially, if one had plans of escaping the poverty hell they would surely be crushed now. His mother encouraged him to read books, whenever she was free and had time for him. Even though he did not spend alot of time with his father, he did pick up the essentials of his 'skills'. One time they went on a 'mission' as Jaxon dubbed it. His father had scouted a particularly wealthy-looking tourist. That was where he got a lesson in identifying targets: Build, clothes, entourage, manner of speech, general knowledge of the area. His father went down the checklist and the man he identified seemed to have a bit of money on him and so they approached. Jaxon was amazed by the way his father seemed to weave a story together and a very convincing one. Jaxon made notes, if he were to survive, this could be a really useful skill to master. They left and returned and over the course of time, they met with the tourist regularly. Jacks taught Jaxon to get the money in small increments over time, to make it less obvious.
He was 16 now. Under his father's wing he had grown to be a young prodigy at the art. However, it had not gone without trouble. One day, he was alone, scouting potential targets. That was when he spotted a female, she was of small stature, auburn hair and an average body type. However, her face was beautiful, check. The clothes she had on could not have been from Ilisia and if they were, they had to be custom made. A sign of wealth, check. Being confident and excited at the prospect, Jaxon approached and tried to do his thing. A novice technique, he had picked up. Travel Insurance and Tour Guides.
He spoke with the lady, she was not from Ilisia, as he thought. The interaction continued, he told her about the dangerous part of Ilisia and offered to be her professional Tour Guide, while also offering her insurance and protection to the low-low price of 50-thousand Berri, with an advance of 15-thousand Berri. Ofcourse, she agreed and paid the 15-thousand upfront, to which Jaxon replied that he would put it in his safe and be back. Well, that was a lie, he never returned and left the lady there. A while later, several built men, with swords were patrolling the streets, seemingly looking for him. They could not find him, but they did find his house. His mother could not tell the men where he was, they did not believe her, however. When Jaxon returned home, he could see his mother had been stabbed several times, and clearly violated. Horrible, he was scared, afraid, so he ran. He ran with tears in his eyes, stomach turning. His actions had consequences, which were sometimes dire. Jaxon managed to flee to his father's cottage, but his father was not there. Instead, there was a letter adressed to him.
'Jaxon, my boy. I know I have not been there for you like a regular father would. Now, still, I am not here to support you, through whatever you're going. I am writing this letter, because I am leaving Ilisia. I saved some money to buy a very small boat, I'm going away to better my life. I don't know where I'm going, but I'll find a place and settle down. I am very sorry for doing this to you, but I realised I have not been living life right, I have passed my wrong ways down to you and for that I am also very sorry. If you still remember where my safe is, find it. There I have left a small amount of what I had saved up, it's for you. I hope we can meet again in the future. Stay alive, my son'
A moment of silence, he couldn't really process what he had read. He did understand the situation, his mother had been killed. His father had left him in pursuit of a better life and there were still people looking for him. Jaxon fell to his knees and started bawling, he was powerless in a situation like this, absolutely powerless. A while passed and he just waded through the streets of his hometown. As if it could not get any worse he was approached by a pair of built, well-dressed men. They were looking for him and they had found him, but they could see he was not well. It did not matter, they held him. Jaxon weakly tried to resist, but he had no fire in him anymore. And like that, he was cut, creating the scar he had till this day, accompanied by the mental injuries which he would perhaps never recover from. The men told him he could keep the money, but it was a warning to never mess with their Lady Branette. A name he would never forget.
Several years passed, since his mother and father had been gone, he was alone. Jaxon did not have any friends, he only adored money and the possibility of what money could do. The negative events that unfolded in his 16th year had had an impact on him. They had morphed him into something even worse than his father. The men that cut him, violated his mother and killed her had given him a reason to live. Vengeance. His father who had left him in his time of need had given him a reason to live. Vengeance. His fire had been lit, he was driven with passion. It gave him a healthy body, a strong body. He had perfected his scamming skills and by now, together with the money his father had left him, he had saved 5-million Berri and he had gotten a small boat. Now was the right time to leave, by now he had scammed a few key-figures in the underworld and some corrupt marines. They did not realize yet, but the realization would start to sink in pretty soon. Before that time came, he had to be gone.
So, with a bag full of Berri, he made his way to the docks. In cover of the night he kicked his boat of the shore and started paddling. Nobody cared, these were the docks of the lower-class area. It would be a waste of resources to have security there as those docks were rarely ever used, neither were they in a financially efficient position. Now, with two targets and one goal, Jaxon found himself travelling the sea. Quite enjoying the freedom he had. Nobody knew him on the other islands, so it was like scamming little children, he made sure his balance roughly stayed the same. All the free time he had on his boat made read even more books. On one island, he picked up a fighting style from a drunk old man who kept on rambling about finding the ultimate form.
After finishing his training, the man simply left and told him to 'find his own way'. Of course, Jaxon was not going to just sit around. He got on his small, stolen dingy and made his way to the nearest World Government office, to get his Bounty Hunter License. A voyage needed funds and by simply stealing and swindling, he would get caught up all sorts of trouble. So, bounties were a great way to gather more combat experience, while also gaining money. He succesfully got his license.
So, for now, he had to gather more strength. Enough to travel the rough seas and exact his revenge without trouble.
