Description:
Anne-Marie is a small young woman with pale porcelain skin and long, resplendent white hair. Being a former royal, she is remarkably well taken care of, and it shows. She looks entirely too delicate to be out at sea amongst pirates and revolutionaries, standing out like a sore thumb among all the rough and tough people of the ocean. Her vibrant blue eyes seem to reflect light to a far greater degree than most, though this has no effect on her actual eyesight.
The Past
Main Traits: Charismatic, Elegant, Shrewd, Emotional, Empathetic, Determined, Curious
Likes: Fine foods, sweets, warm baths, comfortable beds, cool temperatures, fancy clothing, dancing, painting, fencing
Dislikes: Bitter foods, cruelty, the World Government, getting dirty, abandonment
Unique laugh: Kihihihihihi!
Hometown:
The Kingdom of Dragara is an archipelago of temperate climate, the north containing great mountain ranges while the south is mostly flat. The geography makes it look idyllic as if coming straight from a fairy tale of dragons and knights. The manmade structures, likewise, also bear a striking resemblance to such. The people of Dragara value culture, and have a great focus on humanities and arts. great marble structures and statues dot the land, showing their cultural heritage. Despite this, however, the archipelago is under World Government control. Though all looks well on the surface, one need only look below to see the people are discontent. Their freedom-loving nature and desire to learn are at odds with the World Government's control, and it would only take a small push to trigger something bigger...
Personality:
Bearing an unmatched charismatic grace, Anne-Marie talks, walks, and acts like a royal. She is a polite woman, well-versed in matters of diplomacy and debate, very much capable of holding her own against any noble in dialogue. This is helped by her shrewd nature; though not an intellectual scholar by any means, she is proficient at reading people and knows the ins and outs of speech slip-ups and body language like the back of her hand. She is also quite vain, feeling uncomfortable unless her appearance is absolutely perfect, and frequently brushes her hair and adjusts her outfit when she otherwise has nothing to do.
This is not to say she is a cool calculator, though. On the contrary, her grace is matched only by her passion and emotion. Despite her introverted nature, Anne-Marie acts with her heart rather than her head. She is an idealistic soul who puts her beliefs and dreams above the law, believing that the World Government must be pulled out by the roots to stop the insidious spread of its corruption. She’s moody, her emotional state easily vacillating depending on the situation, but she’s also very empathetic. Her heart, for better or for worse, cannot ignore the suffering of others. This can make her predictable and vulnerable to manipulation, despite her aforementioned shrewdness, as well as drive her to do darker deeds if pushed.
Reflecting her emotional nature, Anne-Marie enjoys the arts. Singing, dancing, and painting are all hobbies she partakes in, and all her works have a melancholic tone to them. Perhaps a reflection of her emotions and inner turmoil. Indeed, she is possessed of a certain loneliness, as if she can’t open up to others. When she does open up, she has an extreme fear of losing those she has shown vulnerability to, affecting her judgement when her mind would otherwise be clear. She can also be quite needy and is not above employing subtle tactics to get attention from her loved ones… or just outright demand it.
- History:
“My first memory is as Anne-Marie Bourdillon, born of the Royal Family of the Kingdom of Dragara. I knew only luxury and privilege, and though I was carefree as a child, my father very quickly taught me of the responsibility that came from such a position. Though I was not the crown princess of Dragara, I still bore a responsibility to serve the people, guide my older brother, guarding him against his enemies, and become ruler in his stead should he perish.
The thought of losing my older brother terrified me. I was not meant to fight, according to the servants, but I wanted to anyway. If I was to be a good sister, I had to be able to protect him, even if I was the youngest and supposedly the most delicate. It was through this that I first came in contact with the blade, and it was perhaps what gave me the will to see everything else through. It was also during this time that I developed an interest in the finer arts; singing, dancing, and rhythmic gymnastics were all ways I sought to express myself and release stress, though it may have made me far vainer than I have any right to be.
As I got older, I began to question if my family was genuinely my family. I know not what possessed me to ask these questions, but something felt different as if there was an invisible wall dividing me and my family. My father loosened his lips first, revealing I was adopted, but he refused to speak from whom or for what reason. Curiosity took the better of me, and after a long while of digging, I found out. The revelation shocked me.
I was born Anne-Marie Leblanc, sole heir of the former noble house of Leblanc. They were personal friends of the royal family, but more importantly, their bloodline, my bloodline, were once the rulers of Dragara and fiercely opposed the World Government until they were deposed by the Bourdillon family with their help. For their opposition to the World Government, they were arrested in droves and never heard of again, a shadow of their former selves relegated to hiding away in secret. It was only my father's favour with the king that allowed me to live as I was meant to.
I spent a significant amount of time reading books on history, and developed a taste for archaeology as a result; my studies would range from the known to the forbidden, such as the Blank Era or the One Piece itself. My findings also gave me a newfound distaste for the World Government, which caused me to frequently clash with my oldest brother. Although I loved him as if we were blood, our ideals would decidedly drift apart as I took to studying more and more.
I was eventually discovered, by my own brother no less, and reported to the Marines. I was to be arrested, but my father couldn’t bear to see me taken, and so smuggled me out. In his words, he was not only failing his late friend, but his daughter as well. Though part of me wished to stay, I knew I could not, and so fled the Kingdom of Dragara. I was officially renounced by the royal family, no doubt a measure to keep the World Government from bringing their insidious claws to bear on Dragara more than they already have.
Taking on the name of my blood family, I would set out to the sea as a pirate, intent on challenging the justice of the World Government and pulling it out by the roots.”

Grading Note: Just a reminder, you wouldn't be able to actually know any details of what happened during the Void Century. Looking into it is taboo enough though but as for what transpired, it's still a mystery.
Otherwise, I like short stuff's fire and passion for arts. Can't wait to see what she accomplishes on the seas.

Unlocked for bio image edit. Honestly, you should seriously consider changing your face claim altogether. A loli face claim for an adult character is disturbing and makes me and other players (who shall remain nameless) uncomfortable.

Thank you for changing your face claim! I appreciate your understanding.
I did have a couple more comments that Lazzy (Castor) missed in his approval. Please see the comments in orange in your history below.
