Yuriko
Basic Character Information
Starting Bonus: Hardboiled | [Starting Bonus Roll]
First Name: Yuriko
Last Name:Aurochs [kept secret]
Epithet: Kijo ( 鬼女 = ogress / demoness) Yuriko
Age: Twenty-two
Gender: Female
Race: Oni
Faction: Pirate
Profession: Doctor
Physical Appearance
Height: 450 cm / 14'9"
Weight: 1040 kg
Hair Style: Long Hair
Hair Color: Midnight Blue
Eye Color: Purple
Scars: A bunch of scars of different shapes and sizes cover her back
Clothing and Accessories:
When it comes to her attire, Yuriko isn't influenced by outer standards, such as fashion trends and instead wears whatever she considers comfortable. She can therefore usually be seen wearing a short, sleeveless and purple shaded kimono decorated with black crescent moons of different sizes, resembling the pattern of a leopard. An ivory border adorns the tight piece of fabric, which is just long enough to hide the pair of black shorts worn by Yuri, leaving most of her thighs exposed. Matching, long furisode style kimono sleeves that reach down to her wrists are attached to her upper arms, leaving the tribal tattoos located on her shoulders visible at all times.
A pair of ebon colored thigh-high, heelless and toeless socks that would be plain black, if it wasn't for the snowy pattern wrapping around the area of the lower thighs in a manner similar to shide, paper used for purification and blessing rituals in the country of Wano. Her attire is completed by a pair of geta, wooden sandals whose flat base is elevated by two wooden prongs. In terms of accessories the bluenette could be considered a minimalist as the only accessories worn by her are a thin, snow colored scarf and golden earrings. Her left ear only carries a single earring while her right ear got pierced no less than three times.
Description:
For being a member of the tribe of the oni and the daughter of a half giant, Yuriko's slender, yet feminine frame is on the smaller side as she only stands to nearly fourteen feet and nine inches without her horns being considered. Gazing at her, Yuriko at first sight doesn't appear to be a battle-tested combatant or even a capable fighter as her slim physique lacks steel abs or bulky muscles in general. However, despite its size and a weight of no less than 1040 kg, the young woman's body is highly agile and flexible. Her smooth, midnight colored hair, which trails like a mesmerizingly inky river that runs down her back and reaches beyond her hips, is usually worn open while leaving her bangs, which are long enough to curtain over her forehead, to freely bop in the breeze as they are only held in place by an innocently white hair-band.
Yuri's most flamboyant feature is the set of two, 2 feet long horns sprouting from the sides of her head; their golden shade contradicting the dark color of the woman's mane. Her gentle spheres carry a shade of amethyst and their slit pupils further add to her somewhat inhumane appearance. The female oni's fair skin, which is devoid of any eye-catching birthmarks, could have been called flawless, if it wasn't for the tribal tattoos located on her forehead and shoulders as well as the scars covering her back. These scars blemishing her body originate from one of her father's rampages and are a constant reminder that she set out in order to save her family and people in general.

Personality:
The inky haired woman going by the name of Yuriko is a rather contradictory individual that could be considered a walking enigma. Encountering the female one might get intimidated by her height, the long, golden horns as well as her deep eyes. Beneath this somewhat monstrous surface, which is responsible for her epithet, rests a kind and adventurous soul that is driven by the wish to protect her people and is everything but unsocial. However, despite enjoying the company of others, the midnight topped doctor actually prefers to keep the fears and doubts nagging at her heart hidden from those around her as she dislikes the thought of being considered a burden.
While she can generally be considered a loyal comrade as she is supportive and doesn't shrink from endangering herself in order to help others in need, her loyalty, actually lies with her tribe and at the end of the day she will always grant priority to its safety. While getting along with the snow bluenette generally isn't much of a task, if one isn't some kind of cruel tyrant, it can nevertheless be somewhat taxing at times as she has a tendency of randomly inventing nicknames for those around her, hinting at a teasing nature. Yuri may not bear any ill will when coming up with these names, but that doesn't mean that the names invented by her can't be misunderstood as her being rude.
While the female member of the oni race can generally be described as an easy-going individual, she isn't capable of always keeping her emotions in check. Hurting those she considers important to her will cause the young woman to discard her serene attitude as she suffers from fear of loss, which results from her having been forced to helplessly watch her creator hurt and even killed her kin in senseless fits of rage. Even though despising her father, the two have more in common than Yuriko would ever be willing to accept as she can't just be as emotional as him, but is also as unforgiving as he is. Wounds inflicted upon her heart always leave deep scars that the female is unable to ignore and time alone usually isn't capable of healing these cicatrices.
Being as unforgiving as she sadly is, it requires a lot of effort to once again gain her trust and reconcile the animosity dwelling within the depths of her chest. Once she has gotten something into her head it is quite difficult to argue her out of it, since normal reasoning won't make it through to her stubborn head. This can especially be a problem, if it becomes necessary to cooperate with someone, who at some point in time intentionally harmed someone important to her. Even though disliking unnecessary violence, Yuriko is by no means a pacifist and instead simply an individual attempting to avoid fighting for as long as possible. Once driven into a corner, she doesn't shrink from making use of whatever she has at her disposal, including techniques that were originally developed to help or grant relief to injured people.
Despite being quite smart and an erudite individual, it can happen that she randomly spaces out, which in turn might cause people to doubt her intellect or at least her attention span. The truth, however, is that she is simply busy doing something within her inner fortress, created by the power of her Shiro Shiro no Mi. Just like everyone else, the inky topped oni also has quirks and habits that may cause other people to raise a brow in confusion. Yuri has the habit of adding the suffix 'shi', a suffix used in formal writing, and sometimes in very formal speech, for referring to a person who is unfamiliar to the speaker, to names and even the nicknames of those around her.
- History:
Yuriko was born in Ōeyama, one of the larger oni settlements scattered across Mystoria, an island located in what people refer to as the New World. Hearing that she is the daughter of the man commonly known as the 'Behemoth', many would most likely assume that the inky topped woman grew up within a safe environment surrounded by wealth; an imagination that couldn't possibly deviate more from the truth. Being the child of the infamous pirate feared as one of the Yonkō and one of the countless women he had forced into his bed, Yuri was solely raised by her mother as her creator didn't care about her, his other offspring or their respective mothers and only made the lives of those living on Mystoria more miserable.
Even the smallest trifles were enough to trigger fits of rage that caused the monster of a man to run amok and blindly devastate the island in a manner similar to a calamity, causing the young oni to grow up living in constant fear. While some of her siblings foolishly dared to oppose their father in hopes of being acknowledged by him, Yuriko and her mother always tried their best to stay away from him, something that, however, was easier said than done. The innocent oni girl had just turned six, when yet another outburst of fury caused by spilled sake shook the island. With the already drunk pirate completely out of control it seemed as if the world was going to end as the scale of destruction surpassed everything the people of Mystoria had experienced before.
When the dust settled, it seemed like the town Yuriko had called her home had been wiped off the face of the earth and only ruins and scorched earth remained. Yuriko eventually awoke amidst a gruesome mess of motionless bodies and rubble. Unable to truly comprehend what had happened, the young child aimlessly dragged her aching body across the area in search of her mother until she collapsed once again. The next time she opened her amethyst spheres she found herself lying on a bed inside a small, wooden room. Her torso was wrapped in bandages, documents were scattered all across the room and an oddly shaped fruit was lying on the table. Driven by hunger she dragged her body out of bed and over to the table, digging into the fruit without the slightest hesitation, only to find out that it carried a weird, nauseating taste.
She had just eaten the disgusting fruit, when a man entered the room. The stranger, who later on introduced himself as Ishamonten, a doctor from the distant country of Wano, was relieved to see that his young patient, whom he had by chance encountered in the ruins of Ōeyama, was awake and lively, but at the same time furious that his precious research subject had been eaten. After being scolded for eating an apparently rare fruit that the doctor hadn't seen before, the elderly man answered the confused girl's question concerning her hometown and family. Learning that she had been the only person the man had been able to rescue, Yuriko's world entirely fell apart. Unable to leave an assumed orphan behind, Ishamonten took the innocent child to Wano.
Returning to Fukusato, a remote place within the northern mountain area of Wano, Ishamonten raised Yuriko like his own child and began to pass his extensive medical knowledge on to her. However, medical lessons weren't the only training the young girl underwent over the years as it was eventually discovered that she had what the residents of Fukusato considered to be magical powers. During one of her meditative exercises, Yuriko suddenly found herself within some kind of unusual palace, but when she looked out of the windows, she just saw parts of her body and the familiar surroundings of her foster father's house. Not sure what was going on she started to rush across the palace in search of an exit, but when she eventually broke free from the meditation she noticed that small parts of her body were opened up in a way that contradicted any of the medical knowledge she held.
Consulting her foster father, Ishamonten told her that he had once met two men, one capable of making plants grow by dancing and the other able to turn his body into a multitude of spheres. Now aware of the magical abilities possessed by his daughter, the man revealed that he had once been a shinobi, who had been banished for failing to fulfill his mission. Ever since then, the old man didn't just pass his medical knowledge on to his daughter, but also trained her in the way of the shinobi. And so the female oni trained hard in order to inherit all the knowledge gifted to her by her father while exploring her magical abilities and honing her skills as a kunoichi.
Reaching the age of twenty-two, the inky topped woman was approached by her father and mentor, who told her to leave Wano so that she could make use of her abilities to aid people and obtain further knowledge. Grateful for all the things he had done for her, Yuriko parted ways with her father and boarded a boat headed for a faraway kingdom called Torino, a place supposedly famous for its great medical achievements. However, the inky topped woman had never forgotten what her real father had done to her and was deadest on freeing her people from the plague known as the Behemoth
