Rosa Sparks
Basic Character Information
Starting Bonus: Hard Boiled | [Starting Bonus Roll]
First Name: Rosa
Middle Name/Initial:
Last Name: Sparks
Epithet:
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Race: Cyborg
Faction: Pirate
Profession: Engineer, Smith/Carpenter, Scientist, Doctor
Physical Appearance
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 285 lbs
Hair Style: Side-swept ponytail with an undercut.
Hair Color: Orange
Eye Color: Amber
Scars: Rosa's visible scars are the fact that she is missing her right eye and has a thin diagonal cut running from her forehead to her chin on the right side of her face respectively. She additionally has a metal, cybernetic prosthetic for her right hand. There are more but she does not often display them to others.
Clothing and Accessories: Rosa traditionally wears a variety of armored blouses with odd star/sword shapes on them. She combines this with a leather belt matched to her thigh-high combat boots and her short shorts. Additionally, she will wear a leather glove on her left hand. This is matched to her eye-patch and boots. Her right hand is a cybernetic, brass plated prosthetic which she usually leaves bare. On days that she is feeling particularly fancy, she will pull out a cloak that clasps onto her shoulders with a signature broach of three bones.
Description: Rosa is a Long-legged Human/Cyborg mix. Her arms and legs are muscular but lithe, and her movements possess an eerie grace to them. In truth, that is an illusion. Rosa's body possesses a tapestry of scars that tell the tale of a difficult life and of cybernetic enhancements undergone as a result. Rosa has styled her hair to one side, with only a few rebellious bangs curling and framing her face. One can almost always find a smile lurking at the corners of her mouth, as if there is some joke being told that only she can hear.
The Past
Main Traits: Intense curiosity and a sense of empathy. Dreams of exploring new concepts, even if her old ones blow up in her face.
Likes: Inventing, modifications, pets (robotic), pensive moments with her thoughts, being praised, people with vision.
Dislikes: When things don't work, gears grinding, hairy animals, being ignored
Unique laugh: Gaw-eee-eee-eee-hah
Hometown: Ilusia
Personality: The best way to describe Rosa's personality is giddy. Whether it's demonstrating a new invention, or exploring a new island, Rosa believes that there is always something exciting waiting just around the corner. Rosa does her best to make this excitement infections (sometimes literally. Don't ask about the laughing gas experiment.) and will pally up with those who she perceives as needing a little kick in the arse to really start enjoying themselves. There are exceptions of course, with regards to violent injuries, her hometown, or the corrupt dealings of the marines. In those times, a much more somber Rosa is shown.
- History:
On the Island of Ilusia in the town of Mary-Lyon, Rosa lived mostly on her own in a fortress now laid to ruins, which the vines have overgrown. She spent much of her time, inventing things for the ruling family, as different members would approach her about ideals of gaining the upper hand over the other members of the family. It was a precarious position, as Rosa had to be careful in both discretion of her dealings with the other members of the family, and furthermore to never affect the balance of power beyond a salvageable degree. Thus, it came to be that the members of the Thalassadis family trusted Rosa as a impartial judge in their family affairs, entrusting her with documents of note. In a time of mourning where a member of the family was laid to rest, one of the brothers decided to usurp the rest of his siblings. He marched on the fortress and lay claim to its wealth. And so, in 1822, the other members of Thalasssdis told Rosa to gather up some men and hurry to defend the documents within the fortress. But little did Rosa know that the usurper had bribed most of the marines on the island to swaying against her. As a result, Rosa's volunteers mostly came from the surrounding countryside, and the robotic defenders that she built to assist her. Rosa told the volunteers that it was likely that they were going to face overwhelming odds, and perhaps even people that they knew. Her measly force dwindled slightly, but most of them knew of the cruelty of Simon Thalassidas and chose to fight the little tyrant. Rosa began preparing, implanting herself with the drakonthodos project. A programmed set of nanobots would be synced with the DNA material retrieved from a removed bone.
Villagers with muskets and automatons comprising the howitzer teams stood side by side in the face of the oncoming army. Simon Thalassidas attempted to send a messenger to compel Rosa to surrender, but was met with jeers from Rosa's militia. They dumped barrels of ale onto Simon's troops and torches followed, filling the air with the heady scent of burning alcohol as a reply. Simon turned scarlet, and vowed that they would each face the sword. A grim demeanor settled over the battlefield as the fighting began. The fortress held for 8 days against the combined forces of the corrupt marines on the island.
Unbeknownst to Rosa however, money could most certainly buy the loyalty of some of the shadier members of her troop. Rosa meanwhile was too busy trying to repair wounds her soldiers had suffered with robotic support to notice the shifting alliances. On the fateful ninth day, Rosa heard shouts from outside the infirmary. She peeked through one of the flaps to find that corrupt marines were scurrying up through the depths of the fortress and bursting out onto the walls like a mischief of rats tunneling up from underneath. Her soldiers were now pinned, and though valiantly, surrendering their lives to stop the oncoming wave. Meanwhile, one of the traitorous soldiers crept towards the infirmary tent. At first, Rosa hadn't noticed, but her senses picked up on the feeling of a prickling sensation in her awareness. She turned, just enough to evade a lethal strike. There was the initial flash of welling fire from the wound, before half the world went dark and her arm felt curiously weightless. Rosa stumbled backwards, collapsing from the shock. As she lay there on the ground, screams filled the air. The one attacking her glanced up and figuring she was dead, left the tent to go pillage her fortress. Rosa crawled weakly towards one of the unmarked crates in the infirmary. Reaching in, she wrapped her fingers around the thick tube containing what seemed like sand. She pulled the tube and upended the contents over the gaping wound in her side. The nanobots began to repair her body, creating living organs and skin out of metal and synthetic material, though she continually needs to create more every so often to maintain her current physicality. Rosa sensed that she had lost, and as the looters crept about in her home, managed to stumble into a secret passage leading away from the castle and down to the port. Trading away the last of her family heirlooms, she managed to board one of the ships as a forgettable peasant. Though Rosa vows to return one day and take back her home.

Overall, this was an excellently written bio. However, there were a few things in your history that do not fit the context of RevDawn's OP universe.
Firstly, it's the Thalassa family. I don't think this was spelt correctly even once. XD
Secondly, while it's not entirely unheard of in the OP universe for a 14-year-old to have influence over royalty, the Thalassa family of Ilusia is supposed to be conservative. For them to roll over and take advice from a kid that's not even part of the family is not very convincing.
Thirdly, Ilusia is meant to be more of a classic medieval fantasy island. For robots to be thrown into the mix would take away from that vision. This would be okay if Ilusia hadn't already been referenced in a World Event.
Lastly, but most importantly, nano-bots. No nano-bots, please. Technological marvels are not entirely out of place in the OP universe, but, said technology has always had a steampunk-esque theme. Nano-bots are just too sci-fi. I'm not saying it can never be a thing. But, if you want to bring something so unheard of into the universe, you'll have to earn your way to it through long-term setup and RP.
