As he knows the sea is a ruthless place and not everyone can be spared, Hogoromo has no problem taking the life of someone. In battle he is rather ruthless and attacks with no hesitation at all, believing that if he doesn’t there is a huge change of him or his friends dying and he does not want that too happen. Even if he runs into an enemy that is stronger than him, he will do his best to defeat them and will not run away unless that is the very last option.
- History:
Hogoromo was born on the island of O’Hara to two of the islands most brilliant historians who also just happened to be apart of the Scholar’s association. Hogoromo had most of his childhood go pretty smooth and like his parents, Hogoromo learned to read and learn new things even as an infant leading his parents to believe that he could be as great a scholar as them some day.
Around the age of six, a band of pirates had landed on Ohara to do some research and while making his way to the library ran into their navigator and swords master named Xenon. After intimating kid Hogoromo from his looks, Xenon did his best to stop the kid from crying from the big scary man. This was the start of a long friendship between the kid and his pirate mentor, Xenon.
For the next three years of his life, Hogoromo spent time reading, researching, and even training with the Xenon who would teach him the way of the navigator and way of the sword. His parents were worried about him hanging around a pirate but seeing as Xenon posed no harm to their child they left everything alone. However the good times did not last long, as Marines had deemed the crew too dangerous to stay on Ohara and negotiated with Ohara’s own army to arrest them, convincing them that leaving them unbothered could cause more harm to the people on Ohara.
When the pirates caught words of the Scholar association’s army were coming to capture them, Xenon tried to send his apprentice home so that he would not be caught with him, knowing they would even arrest the kid if they had saw him with pirates. However, it was too late and the army had swarmed the outer layer of the hideout of xenon and his crew. Knowing they weren’t going out without a fight and didn’t want to drag the kid into it, Xenon handed the boy a box he said had an “extraordinary gift” and said that he was glad that he had gotten to meet the boy before hiding him somewhere safe in the hideout. After crying as he watched his mentor and crew he thought of as family go to approach the army outside and heard as the battle pursued. The noise went on for hours and when everything seemed to have ended, the boy made his way out. He was greeted with bodies and some of them members of his mentors crew in pools of their own blood. The only thing that he could hope for was that Xenon wasn’t laying on the ground dead somewhere.
He ran home crying and screaming for his parents, keeping the box xenon gave him close. A few days after the event and some counseling the eight year old Hogoromo opened the small box that he was given and was met with a weird looking fruit which tasted awful. It was afterwards that he realized that the fruit had given him a power and the power it gave him was the true gift that his mentor wanted him to have. The power was that to produce and control acid, a rather dangerous ability for anyone unlucky enough to encounter him from now on. He vowed to train and get stronger so that he too could become a pirate.
The boy would train for years to come and at the ripe age of 15 he had the best chance ever when another pirate crew had stopped into town. Due to his choice of clothing and looks they initial thought he was some kind of marine but after reassuring them he wasn’t, asked to show them around O’Hara if they let him join their crew. The leader named Rudo was hesitant at first but seeing as he had one more spot open let him join.
Hogoromo spent the next four years with the Rudo Pirates as they sailed in the blues, searching for treasure and enjoying the high seas. In present day Hogoromo D. Oda has had his previous crew disbanded and is now looking to start a new one through any means possible and make his decent into a powerful pirate of the sea.

I had a couple of comments before I approve this:
Giving yourself the middle initial D. does not mean you have the Will of the D.
O'Hara is an island that has its own standing army. On top of that, it is also under the protection of one of the Yonkou. You can see some details about the island on the island's Island Description page. The Marines do not have jurisdiction over O'Hara. Of course, they could still pursue pirates to the island, but, they don't have any legal grounds to arrest them there. It would be more reasonable for them to negotiate with the Scholar Association's army to arrest the pirate on their behalf.
