Verificashun Took Fortimins
Basic Character Information
Starting Bonus: Pocket Change | [Starting Bonus Roll]
First Name: Verificashun
Middle Name/Initial: T
Last Name: Fortimins
Epithet: That Angry Pig Guy
Age: 36
Gender: M
Race: Human
Faction: Marine
Profession: Licensed Skeptic
Physical Appearance
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 310 kg
Hair Style: Very Short
Hair Color: Light Brown
Eye Color: Black
Scars: N/A
Clothing and Accessories: Veri normally wears an aviators jumpsuit and cap, along with goggles. To keep warm while sailing in the sky and lower the amount of skin exposed to the wind, Veri also wears heavy white gloves and a nice white scarf.
Description: Describe your bodily appearance (not including your clothes) in detail. In human form, Veri has a little mustache and short black hair. In the zoan form that he stays in almost constantly, Veri is a pig. He's got a few tufts of sandy tan hair, and the same little black mustache. He does, however, have the large heft and the imposing bulk of a big strong pig boy.
The Past
Main Traits: He's a god damned pig with a mustache
Likes: People that tell the truth. Crackers. Oranges. Airships.
Dislikes: Liars. Pirates.
Unique laugh: He doesn't laugh anymore now that no one believes him about Misery Island.
Hometown: Minion Island
Personality: Veri has a constant anger towards just about everything and everyone that comes across him. Even in fights, with his bulk, Veri tends to do his best to ignore his opponents best attempts at hitting him. Disdaining to acknowledge others efforts at anything - mostly because others try to convince him that Misery Island doesn't exist - Veri tends to have a very low opinion of anyone else that isn't a Marine in his branch. After all, civilians are living the high life up instead of fighting pirate scum with the boys.
- History:
Veri lived on Minion Island for most of his childhood. Born into a small farming village, each harvest season was always a burden as they tried to get enough food to last through the long winters. Years passed like this, and once Veri was old enough to assist with the farming, he joined in the yearly ritual too. He knew little of life beyond the extent of their village and never tried to explore either - lest he get lost in the snow and mountains.
At the age of sixteen though, Veri ran into a pirate that had found himself in Veri's village after losing his way in a blizzard. The pirate stayed with Veri's family for the night, regaling the young lad with tales of piracy and dashing valor on the seas, before talking about how his crew had built a grand base with huge treasure on what was called Misery Island. Veri went to sleep, dreams filled with the heroics of pirates.
When he woke however, him and his gullible parents were instantly realized why pirates were called that - "pirates". Before any of the others had awoken, the dirty scum had made off with as much as their stored food as he could carry. Between what they had saved though, and what Veri's parents could borrow or barter from their neighbors, they could barely survive through the rest of the winter. Wanting to lessen the strain on his family's pantry though, Veri wandered beyond the village limits to try and scrounge food.
After finding a weird turd-looking fruit in the woods, Veri ate a few bites out of it before almost ditching the thing for the taste alone. With the family so low on food though, sixteen year old Veri finished the thing up before running back to his family. It was only later on that he realized he'd eaten a devil fruit, and with his newfound pig boy status, he began to always want more and more food too. It was during a brief warm period where there wasn't as much snow on the ground that Veri decided to no longer be a burden and left.
For years, Veri drifted from place to place, trying to figure out where exactly this "Misery Island" was, hoping to get revenge on the entire crew of that one dumb pirate and impound their treasure. It was in these wanderings that Veri eventually picked up his aviator jumpsuit and goggles, hoping to eventually land himself a position on an airship, to better find that stupid, dumb Misery Island.
His hopes were in vain however - the pig never actually managed to get himself onto an airship. In fact, the closest that Veri actually got to an airship was the pawn shop where he'd bought his signature outfit. Instead, at the age of 34, Veri decided to join the Marines, in hopes that eventually he would be part of the crew that found Misery Island and brought justice to its filthy inhabitants.
After getting through training and spending some time on an established crew, Veri was finally ready to meet his own new small crew, one without many crew members, but no real mooks. And hopefully they'd be like-minded enough to go after Misery Island too!

To find Misery Island is to find misery itself. Good luck.
