He wishes to correct this fact however, as he has taken this profession very seriously and wishes to be counted among the top hunter percentile.

Born underweight and smaller than most in his island, Subarashī was often treated like a child even as he grew older. No matter what he ate, how he trained, or what shortcuts he tried to take in growing his height, he never managed to get over the being four feet, four inches tall. For someone who had big aspirations to follow in their own father's footsteps, as a legendary bounty hunter, Subarashī was rather pathetic when it came to feats of physicality. He could barely lift a sword. No matter his age, he was always just below the average height for a normal person. On top of this, he had notions of being a hero, yet no one believed in him due to his short stature. This caused the young male to give up on his dreams rather quickly. Understanding that he was brought into this world to be useless.
To offset this uselessness, the young man found himself throwing himself into the arts, at the behest of his mother. He developed a singing voice that was highly complimented by all of his training in acrobatics. Using this combination he became a somewhat unknown musical sensation on his island. That is to say, his fame was isolated onto his island during the beginning stages of his career. Finding his first opportunity to leave his homeland when he was fifteen years of age. He traversed from island to island with a roving band of musically inclined individuals that were well known within the East Blue. Understanding that he would never be a hero he fully dedicated himself to his craft for two years. Until that faithful day he learned of a Devil Fruit on an island he was currently preforming on. He didn't know what it did, but he knew it meant he'd gain powers.
He fully understood that if he had powers then he might have the opportunity to follow his dreams and so he spent most of his hard-earned money on the fruit, buying it from unsavory types who would go on to provide him hassle in the near future. Eating the fruit and suffering its effects, he found himself immediately dismayed when he didn't seem to comprehend exactly what his fruit did. Dismayed by this unfortunate situation, he returned to performing his music. Something was different about his jaunt through the musical world now, however. His fans seemed to rally to his voice, invigorated by his positive nature and the songs in which he sang to them. His appeal seemed to be even more abundant with women, after he mistakenly forgot his outfit and had to get dressed like a geisha to preform. He finally garnered real fans and they seemed to believe in him. Calling him their hero.
Though they had not meant hero in the same way that he thought, he took what they said to heart and exercised daily. Until one of his fans, a girl by the name of Hifune offered to be his manager. Though thankful for the musicians that had his back up until now, he took the opportunity to go solo and used Hifune's ship as his own base of operations going forward. He found himself bringing his fans along with him, since his ship had more than enough room to house them all. He'd preformed for them regularly... while taking other advantages that came with such a union. He found himself enjoying their company to the point in which he started to treat them all as though they were his crew. He had his first taste of combat not soon after he disembarked. Stopping a slaver ship, his newfound bravado saw him invade their vessel.
Though he was scared, he talked down to the slavers and egged them into fighting him. Before he was struck down by the Slaver captain he shrieked and closed his eyes, awakening something in his crew that caused them to come to his aid. They quickly boarded and somehow managed to defeat the entire crew of slavers. When the so-called hero opened his eyes, he noted that all of the slavers were completely and utterly defeated. None of his crew had the heart to tell him what happened... leading to the young man to believe that he alone had defeated all that approached him... while he was flailing around his blade. With his ego throughly stroked, he declared himself to be a true hero and made it clear that he would capture and turn in as many criminals as possible. His ladies cheered and he set out to make his delusional destiny a reality.

This was such interesting take on HP, a swarm of women at his beck and call. I loved that his experiences in his childhood tried to force him into combat but his Devil Fruit worked in his favor, along with his dashing good looks. I love it. Really interesting read. Approved.
