Hometown: Burton was born on an island called Amano Island, an uncharted island in the East Blue. Amano Island was greeny and bountiful, full of fruits and other kinds of vegetables. There was a higher percentage of aggressive carnivores whose meat went bad in 2 hours after killing, even if prepped, which affected the inhabitant's diet and choice of eatery. The forest that surrounds the village is gigantic, radiant, and primal. Its canopy was overshadowed by dogwood, maple, and hemlock, and ample openings let enough dancing beams of light through for scattered saplings to control the thick layer of leaves below. Swooping creepers wave from most trees, and a variety of flowers, which were scattered sporadically, added some bright touches to the otherwise colorless lower level. A variation of beastly noises, most of which were birds and insects, resonated through the air, and were backed by the occasional sounds of birds of prey gliding in the air. This was the everyday life of Amano's nature.
As for Amano village, the village itself looked humble. With its ironwood rooftops, shingle walls and frozen ponds, Amano village has a heavenly atmosphere. The main attraction is the town hall, which was built 39 years ago and designed by the Shandians that founded this village.
Amano has a decent economy, which is mainly supported by wood-crafting, carpeting, and tailoring. But their biggest strengths are delicate wood-crafting and prosperous trade. However, Amano lacks people skilled in cooking, with the potentially poisonous meat that the beasts on their island produce with their death. They managed to use fish as a substitute instead. The current population of Amano village is 2,349 inhabitants, they also have 2,700 acres of farmland crops.
Personality: In combat, Burton's fighting style could be considered as mischevious and dynamic. He seems to favor having some kind of interaction with the terrain that he's been left with, all of the sake of making sure that he keeps his options open. Even in hard times, he commits to his battle plan if he believes that he can hold out until his advantage starts to show. However, even as a marine, Burton still has enough levelheadedness to retreat when needed, discarding his pride entirely for the sake of survival. He doesn't believe in the philosophy of holding grudges, the path that people take in life makes them who they are.
Outside of combat, Stanley is a rather curious fellow. He likes to inspect things, especially if it seems to be a new product that he can use for his meal courses. He is sincere enough to tell you what he really thinks about a situation or person, always being real with the people that he converses with. Some might say that it's a double-edged sword if he says something negative or unagreeable with the many. He's also charismatic, talking his way into things like opportunities, and talking his way out of things. His mannerisms of speaking are akin to a con-artist in such a way, but people don't take it in such a literal sense of him trying to get over on them.
- History:
Burton was born from a Shandia male and a human female, with the Shandian's that were on the island in general serving as a pioneer scout for new land and ended up settling on the island in order to help the humans there. The original members of Amano island were retirees from all walks of life, along with their children. starting new meant braving the elements, and with the potential abundant resources of farm acres and being self-sufficient. It was natural that the two different races started to intermingle, giving birth to a first-generation mix of halflings. Stanley himself was apart of that first generation, his father was named Zarkartan, his mother was named Jessica Burton.
They were still trying to understand the effects of the island's atmosphere and what it had to do with the creatures there. The warriors could handle them well enough, but it wasn't the battle that created some of the hardship, it was the strange effects of the meet that every carnivore on the island had as an effect to being on the island. Apparently, they had a latent poison inside of their body that made the meat go bad in a matter of hours. It was nature's own twisted way of having the circle of life give the middle finger to each other all around the board, which made the people of the Amano village think outside of the box for food, living more of a pescetarian lifestyle.
Stanley didn't want to be a hunter-gatherer, he wanted to be more of a chef like his mother and learn other various ways of feeding people without using meat. It was more a humble beginning, with Stanley avoiding nature's dangerous animals and looking around the island to bring back various fruits and vegetables to experiment with. The thing about it was that Stanley always tasted it first before he decided it was something he wanted to try to grow. Incidentally, he came across the cube-cube fruit, curious of a fruit's perfect square and plopped it in his mouth. It was the most horrible thing that he tasted, but it changed his life when he turned into a cube human.
Stanley was able to work more efficiently with his cooking style, cubing things from far away distances in order to not disturb the carnivorous wildlife. But even if he did, he would cube those animals as well and toss them out into the ocean. The years on the island were great, but as each coming year came and went, Stanley started to realize that there was a cap on his cooking and that he couldn't get any better from staying on Amano island. To become a great chef that doesn't utilize meat products, it was Burton's goal at the time.
Saying goodbye to his family, Burton stocked up on some food and made a raft to a nearby trading post. There, he offered his services as a chef in order to get safe passage to shells town. The idea was to impress the marines with his cooking and possibly get a job there. If he was a marine, he could be able to legally travel wherever he wanted and not worry about the law if he had to go to restricted places to get his materials for his garden. However, he started to realize that standing for something was better than nothing as well. He believed that the marines had a point in maintaining order, that even with the freedom to do what you want, lack of regulation brings chaos.
It was around this realization that Burton obtained a second dream, to become a marine that enacts justice and protects the interests of the world government and its people.
His story begins in shells town...

Shells Town is in the East Blue but Amano Island is in the South Blue? Shouldn't Amano Island also be in the East Blue?
