Court of Carrion (Ship)
Classification: Brig (4th Rate)

Description:
The Court of Carrion features a mobile and defensive design but lacks offensive power. It's hull design consists of two layers of protection. The first is an outer layer of plated oak, and secondary layer of white oak.

The end effect is a significant reduced risk of shrapnel reaching the hull and good protection from small arms fire and low calibre cannonade. This has also meant the Court of Carrion has undergone significant amount of repairs, as plates may regularly need replacing to maintain effectiveness. The extensive use of tar in these repairs has stained the hull black adding to an already disturbing appearance.

Covering parts of the ship are gibbets, cast iron cages containing those unfortunate enough to have encountered the Nevermore pirates. Meanwhile, other sections of the ship appear in a state of disrepair, with some exposed interiors giving superstitious sailors the impression of a ghost ship.

Jolly Roger:
The court of carrions Jolly Roger consists of traditional Skull and Crossbones. The skull contains eyes with one being plucked by a bird perched atop one of the crossbones.

Possible option if I wanted Viari's BBEG (not quite but far as my Character is concerned...) to have a DF.

Tori Tori no Mi, Model Impundulu
Alternative Names: Nevermore, Weeping Crow
Classification: Mythical Zoan

Description: The Mythical Devil Fruit Tori Tori no Mi, Model Impundulu allows the user to adopt the form of a large raven-like bird. It's most distinctive features are black blood flecked coarse feathers, vicious hooked wing tips, and milky white eyes. Their beak structure is preculiar, consisting of a jagged upper beak and the lower beak separated into mandibles.

Historically, the Devil Fruit has been perceived more so as a curse than others of its kind. Reason being that it's influence extends far beyond the users Hybrid and Complete transformations, increasing their vulnerability to fire, but most disturbingly inducing anorexia, causing them to lose all taste for anything besides Carrion, Blood, and Raw flesh. While they can eat and drink not pleasure can be born of it, and it does not sustain them as it should. As a result, the Devil Fruit attracts death.

According to folklore, the Devil Fruit would only appear in places of great tragedy or sites of massacres. Once obtained, it could only be eaten after ripening the fruit with blood.

Designer:
Designed by Jakob Wright (Surveyor of the Navy, 1756 - 1797)

Built: Rubeck. Construction began May 1791 and she was launched January 1794. Wood used in construction was around 3426 metric tonnes, and has roughly 24 miles of rigging.

History:
The Pelican Class Frigate, Third Rate, was the most important ship utilised by the 6th Expeditionary Defence Fleet in the late 1700s, and is one of the most successful Navy designs becoming a prototype for the Albatross Class that superseded it in 1833.

The Frigate begun development in 1789 in an attempt to modernise the 6th Expeditionary Defence Fleet's dated designs. While the first prototype entered service in 1794, it wasn't until 1800s that the Navy produced the ship in large numbers.

The Rubeck was that ship, and named after the port of it's construction. Her first test was at the Battle of Belona, when the fleets vanguard was engaged by three vessels under the command of Nightswan.

During the engagement, the Rubeck would prove to be a excellent warship, matching the manoeuvrability of the retrofitted brigs favoured by Nightswan. This enabled the Vanguard to escape, whilst the Rubeck was able to suppress and dissuade the hostile warships.

The Rubeck would later become a template for the Expeditionary's fleet escort frigates, accompanying first rate battleships, and becoming a favourite response vessel. In 1801, during the siege of Farragut, the Rubeck would become the temporary flag ship of the 6th Expeditionary Defence fleet, after the Legacy was scuttled at sea to prevent her capture.

She would continue to serve as Flagship until the completion of the Sovereign Class Inheritor in 1806. At which point, she was sent to drydock for repairs and a retrofit.

Being replaced with her sister ships, she would return to Rubeck to enter into the service of the 11th Fleet as a patrol ship. Whilst most of her Officers remained behind, Lt Cmdr. Riley remained in his post as her first officer to provide logistical support to her new crew.
