Nick spent many days adrift at sea with nothing to eat but stale potatoes in a very small space. He would often cry out for help for hours on end to no avail.
The barrel eventually washed up on Centaurea where it smashed against some rocks freeing him. Nick spent the rest of his childhood on the streets of Centaurea disoriented and scared. Jude is often wearing a white or light colored shirt with long sleeves to hide the scars on his arms as well. His pants are also well maintained as he is afraid of any skin showing due to his experience in the past.

He just listened, it was how life was. This caused Jude to have an anxiety attack as he hurried away from the boys who he felt were the cause of his attack.
It wasn’t until later that Cedric and Nick managed to follow Jude to his home and demand Jude’s freedom. A scuffle broke out between the man and the two children. Jude didn’t know what to do but was terrified that he was about to watch the only two people who ever showed any interest in him get beaten to death by his owner. In a moment of clarity Jude’s eyes slowly focused on a knife that his owner used to cut meat or him on a bad night. The moments that followed were a blur but in the end Jude had a bloody knife in his hand and his owner, tormentor, father(?), was dead.
The next few years he lived with Nick and Cedric, learning how to live for himself and his new friends. Jude kept that knife as a memento of the night he freed himself from his former life. The local Marines did nothing for his family and were suspected of accepting bribes to look the other way. This rumor was more than enough for Wilder to develop a hatred for the useless Marines, making them no better than the thieves in his own eyes. One day during a robbery Wilder finally snapped, the young teen found a rusty pipe behind his parents store and braced himself before charging back in. The thieves weren’t expecting any resistance and Wilder managed to knock one unconscious before the other two beat him within an inch of his life.
Wilder had to receive extensive medical aid from the local doctor, a self-taught man, who had stiffed his family on the bill. This instilled an intense guilt in the young teen who realized his attempt to make things better only caused greater grief for his family. After recovering, Wilder secretly began running with street gangs in hopes of increasing his own strength.
Years passed with Wilder's parents turning a blind eye to Wilder’s activities. Eventually the young man heard a rumor that a local was setting out as a Pirate and was in need of bodies to join the crew. Wilder planned to runaway in hopes of making a fortune and getting his parents out of their debt and away from the life they were stuck in. The night he had planned to runaway he found a pristine yellow scarf with a small backpack of supplies from the store itself by the backdoor. With tears in his eyes, Wilder realized his parents knew what he was planning and were still supporting him. With that he took the gift and silently promised to come back with enough Berries to save his parents from the poverty they were trapped in.

When word of a local woman acquiring a ship and seeking crewmates to help her set out Biggs realized this was probably the best chance he was going to get. With a farewell to his family Biggs set out to join the crew of this woman. He had apparently misheard or simply hadn’t been told the crew was to be a Pirate crew. However when Biggs saw the crew and met the captain he felt like these people would appreciate his services as a cook.

Jonny was surprised to find that all he had to do was show interest and he was a ‘full-fledged’ crew member. Suspecting a trap or scheme of some sort, Jonny kept his wits about him until they set sail. The crew was all comprised of teens and only half had any real experience at sea. Eugene Biggs loved working alongside his father but wished to travel the seas like his own father did. This was no secret and his father was happy to encourage this dream.
When word of a local woman acquiring a ship and seeking crewmates to help her set out Biggs realized this was probably the best chance he was going to get. With a farewell to his family Biggs set out to join the crew of this woman. He had apparently misheard or simply hadn’t been told the crew was to be a Pirate crew. However when Biggs saw the crew and met the captain he felt like these people would appreciate his services as a cook.

Background: A born citizen of Centaurea, Asher was raised among many siblings in a poor family. Despite his family's financial woes they always stuck together and made the most of what little they had. Growing up Asher always dreamed of going on an amazing adventure on the seas away from the destitute island he lived on.
As the years passed and Asher grew older he began considering what paths he could pursue to be able to leave Centaurea. He had no ill will towards the Navy and considered joining the Marines when he became old enough, though he also held no ill notions of becoming a Pirate either. Pirates, while vicious, were the most adventurous individuals to sail the seas. At least according to all the stories about them.
When word that a young Pirate captain was recruiting anyone willing to join her crew Asher knew this was a once in a lifetime opportunity. He told his family his plans and promised to keep his last name secret so he wouldn’t get them in any trouble with the locals. With his family’s blessings and well wishes Asher was off to join the Meddling Kids, a band of misfits and troublemakers who all hail from Centaurea.

Which Blue or island the lad couldn’t tell you but he has been swabbing decks, running messages, picking pockets, and scraping by for as long as he could remember. Originally a cabin boy for a small pirate crew, Jonny was often abused and take advantage of. Though he always retaliated through pranks and petty revenge schemes.
Eventually the Marines managed to defeat and capture the crew that he was a part of, though due to his young age and abused appearance he was assumed to be a prisoner. They deposited him at the nearest island with an orphanage, this island happened to be Centaurea. Plopped in a dumpy orphanage, it took Jonny all of two hours before he decided to simply take to the streets. He quickly found himself using his ill gotten skills to swindle, steal, and survive.
As a vagrant, Jonny heard that a new crew was forming and it’s captain was willing to hire anyone from Centaurea. The vagrant figured he had spent long enough on that dump and made his way to the captain in question. To his surprise it was a young woman the same age as him, or close at least. Jonny was surprised to find that all he had to do was show interest and he was a ‘full-fledged’ crew member. Suspecting a trap or scheme of some sort, Jonny kept his wits about him until they set sail. The crew was all comprised of teens and only half had any real experience at sea. The vagrant realized the offer had been genuine and took a liking to his new crew. He couldn’t wait to see how they fared against his tricks and pranks.

He just listened, it was how life was. This caused Jude to have an anxiety attack as he hurried away from the boys who he felt were the cause of his attack.
It wasn’t until later that Cedric and Nick managed to follow Jude to his home and demand Jude’s freedom. A scuffle broke out between the man and the two children. Jude didn’t know what to do but was terrified that he was about to watch the only two people who ever showed any interest in him get beaten to death by his owner. In a moment of clarity Jude’s eyes slowly focused on a knife that his owner used to cut meat or him on a bad night. The moments that followed were a blur but in the end Jude had a bloody knife in his hand and his owner, tormentor, father(?), was dead.
The next few years he lived with Nick and Cedric, learning how to live for himself and his new friends. Jude kept that knife as a memento of the night he freed himself from his former life.
