Clothing and Accessories: Beatriz, on a normal day, opts to dress casually. She isn’t afraid to toss on some jeans and a nice shirt when heading out. She will, however, accessorize like there’s no tomorrow. When it comes to jewelry, she tends to prefer going big and going gold. To top it all off, she may even put on a pair of sunglasses to complete the overall outfit.
At work, she will often choose to simply place a lab coat over her current attire. She swears that it helps her patient open up more to her. However, when attending to personal matters, Beatriz has a tendency to aim for a more bold style. She much prefers leather jackets and corsets to go about her day. Of course, her taste of accessories does not change.
Description: Beatriz is a young woman with light brown, almost amber, skin. She is quite tall and slender. However, she has been blessed with an ample chest and long legs. Beatriz has grey colored eyes and her long hair is of a dark brown color.
The Past
Main Traits: Family-Oriented. Patient. Loyal. Determined. Self-reliant.
Likes: Gambling. Folk Tales. Travelling. Reading. Helping.
Dislikes: Marines. Pirates. Fish. Slave Traders.
Unique laugh: aa jájájájá… ahem.
Hometown: Centaurea [South Blue]
Personality: As a psychologist, Beatriz strives to be a person her patients can count on. She works hard to remain open-minded and understanding while also striving to be stern and strict. She may often joke with her patient but, once the appointment is in session, she is all business. She will often hold free consultations and drop charges for the appointments if she knows a person cannot pay. She will, however, charge double to triple the amount to those who live outside of her hometown.
Beatriz is very distrustful of anyone who wears the blue uniform or proclaims themselves a pirate. She will keep an eye out for them and, if able, will often haunt them with the use of her devil fruit abilities. In that way, she can lure them in as clients and charge them for her services with the claim of supposedly ridding them of their fears. However, Beatriz is not one to stay in one place for too long. This is how she has been able to go about undetected and makes prey of those she believes are evil.
- History:
Beatriz was born to a nomadic artisan couple during their voyage to one of the big cities in the South Blues. The couple had long dreamed of finally settling down and providing their unborn child the life she deserved. Unfortunately, like most life-changing events, things did not go as planned. After several months of peaceful tranquility, a ship with black sails would appear and change everyone’s lives forever. Pirates would soon board the ship and, after having taken the loot and some of its people, they would set the passenger ship on fire. That would be the last time Beatriz’s mother would ever see her husband.
While on board the pirate ship, Beatriz’s mother would be placed in a metal cage under the ship with several others. There, they awaited their fates in the cold and damp conditions they now found themselves in. Some time would pass until the sound of cannons would go off. The pirate ship would shake violently causing the women and children to shriek in fear. As chaos ensued, the shouting would bring awareness to the ongoing situation. Marines had arrived and, from the sounds of it, they were currently overpowering the pirates. This led to a small celebration from the hostages as they awaited their deserved taste of freedom.
No sooner had the ship been overtaken by the Marines when the door leading to their location would open. Those trapped inside would blink rapidly as they adjusted to the blinding lights before grabbing onto the metal bars and shaking them in anticipation. They would urge the Marines to let them out only to see the presumed leader turn heel and leave. Confused, they would call out to him but the only response they received would be the Marines filing out and the door closing behind them with a thud. Hysteria would ensue and the screaming would lead on well into the night. Beatriz’s mother would curl into the corner hoping to wake up from the nightmare.
After the span of what seemed to be an eternity, the sound of heels could be heard echoing the now quiet prison. The door would swing open and a well dressed man with his Marine companion would step closer. The women and children would look up warily at the man as their eyes stared hollowly at the duo before them. The men would take a few minutes muttering to each other before the cage door finally opened. Another marine would step into the cage, kicking aside any who stood in his way, and made a line towards Beatriz’s mother. She would cower back but he’d extend a hand, pull the woman by her hair, and drag her out of the cage.
Throwing her forward, Beatriz’s mother would fall face first as she moved her hands downwards to protect her stomach. The lead Marine would nod and, after another quick exchange of words, he would allow the unknown man to chain the poor woman and drag her out. Beatriz’s mother would soon find herself on another ship and, after being handed over to several workers, would be bathed and clothed. Not wanting to see what awaited her after, she began to plot her escape. Unfortunately for her, they would place her in a confined room and, as they left, they would lock the door behind them. She would stay confined for the rest of the journey.
Towards the last leg of their journey, Beatriz would be born with no one but her mother to welcome her into the new world. The little one would cry and her mother would fight back bitter tears. Through blood and sweat, Beatriz’s mother would vow that she would escape and give her daughter the life she had promised long before. It was a foolish dream but it gave her hope. However, after several long days, the unknown man would appear and tear the tiny girl from her mother’s arms. Leaving the distraught mother behind, he would raise her just until the ship reached its final destination.
When the ship docked on Centaurea, Beatriz was taken to a couple waiting for them just beyond the harbor. They would pay the man and take the tiny babe back to their home. The little one would grow up oblivious to what had occurred just until she had reached three years of age. After her third birthday had passed, Beatriz was taken from the place she called home by a black haired stranger. The little one would cry but the woman did not stop running. She would flee all the way to an unknown destination where she would raise the tiny child as her own. After all, it wasn’t a kidnapping if she was only taking back her child, right?
It took quite a long time before Beatriz would grow accustomed to the strange woman. Even more-so as she initially found it awkward to acknowledge the woman as her mother. However, as the years went by, Beatriz would forget the couple who had raised her during her first years of life. She would grow up loved and well-cared for despite the situation she found herself in. Over time, she would learn that this woman indeed was her biological mother and was taught to never disclose what had happened. Furthermore, she would grow accustomed to moving from place to place to avoid the suspicion of people.
One day, Beatriz’s mother grew ill and, while they had no money to pay, the doctor would waive the costs and treat her as best she could. This would impact the little girl’s life as she had grown accustomed to people’s ire and greed. Beatriz’s mother, however, would suddenly pass away not long after and the kind doctor would offer his home to the child. Beatriz would accept and, after several years, she, too, would take the mantle as a doctor’s assistant. Beatriz, on the other hand, much preferred to talk with the patients about their troubles than working around syringes and blood. Her adoptive father would notice and, after seeing she had a knack for it, had her study the wonderful world of psychology.
Beatriz would grow old enough to travel and, after much anticipation, would receive her father’s blessing to voyage. With a skip to her step, she would follow his example to help people who most needed it the most but could not afford it. She would gain experience over the year and, when she had finally had her fill, she would go back to her home in Centaurea. Much to her dismay, Beatriz would be greeted with a destroyed town and, after asking around, would come to note that pirates had passed through. Yet, what angered her the most was that the Marines had let them have their way.
Instead of seeking immediate justice, however, she promised herself that she would grow strong enough to never let this happen again. She would take from them what they had taken from the village and pay it forward. Thus, she bid her town goodbye and ventured off into the big wide world. She’d set up clinics far and wide in order to provide clinical help to the needy. To cover its cost, she would do it with the Marine’s and Pirate’s own pockets. It was, after all, their own fault that the people suffered.- Side Story:
“Child,” The old woman greeted her with a smile. She would lift up her trembling hands and beckon the young woman to come over. Beatriz would oblige and head to the woman’s bedside. She would kneel so that she could be at the old woman’s level. Her patient smiled and touched a wooden box at her side meekly. “I don’t have much but I leave you with what I do.” Beatriz would take the old woman’s hands and plant a kiss on each knuckle. “Grandma. There’s no need.” Beatriz would shake her head, “I don’t do it for the money.” The woman closed her eyes and sighed happily. “I know but I don’t have anyone else.” The old woman would attempt to pick up the wooden box. Beatriz, seeing the woman’s struggle, would step in and place the box at the woman’s side. “I do not have much time left but promise me that you will accept this.” She would delicately click open the lock that held the treasure closed.
As the box slowly opened, Beatriz’s eyes would grow wide in disbelief causing a chuckle to rise from the old woman’s feeble lips. “Eat this. I do not know what this is but it will be of great help to you.” Beatriz looked into the woman’s eyes. She could see her determination and how resolute she had been in her decision to give it to her. Beatriz would nod and kiss the old woman’s forehead in thanks. She would stay for a while more, holding the woman’s fragile hands, and waited for her to pass. When the old woman was no more, Beatriz would say a prayer and take the box with her. She would slip away and, once back in her office, would reopen the woman’s treasure box. She would let out a tired sigh as she stared at the fruit before her. It didn’t take a genius to find out how precious the devil fruit was. Yet, she could not understand why the old woman had not parted from it before. It was worth billions so why had she lived so poorly the rest of her life?
Beatriz sighed. Regardless of her beliefs, she would honor the old woman’s wishes and take the fruit as her own. She had no idea what it was or what it could do but what more could she lose? With that thought in mind, she ate the fruit and began her life anew as the wielder of the Hit Hito no Mi, Model: Boogeyman.

I assume you wanted to RP out how Meghan fell in with the New Revolutionary Army. Approved!
Valkyrie wrote:Meghan A. Hawke
Basic Character Information
Starting Bonus: Soar, Phoenix | [Starting Bonus Roll]
First Name: Meghan
Middle Name/Initial: A.
Last Name: Hawke
Epithet: Dr. | Valkyrie | Grim Reaper
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Faction: Revolutionary
Profession: Doctor
Physical Appearance
Height: 5”4’
Weight: 125lbs
Hair Style: Loose. Rests Just Below Waist.
Hair Color: Auburn Brown
Eye Color: Icy Blue
Scars: N/A
Clothing and Accessories:
Professionally, this young doctor will almost always wear a clean white, ironed lab coat with glasses protruding out of her chest pocket. She will do her utmost best to maintain a casually professional attire while still flaunting her curves every now and then. This lab coat, though, is a tell-tell sign that she won’t be putting up with disrespect nor attitude from other people. Interestingly, though, she has no need for these glasses, but will only use them as a way to distract herself and appear ‘smarter’ to the below-average masses.
Outside of work, however, her attire can vary from time to time. She is confident in her natural appearance and that, in itself, allows her to sport clothing that accentuates her curves without a care. Whether it be with various degrees of dresses and skirts, she is one to wear it all. After all, she is one who truly dresses to impress. In her free time, however, Meghan may wear slacks and a blouse, although she will seldom wear a lab coat. She does, though, carry it with her in a bag or pack for easy access. If anything, she will never be seen without a bag of some sorts and several identification cards.
Description: Meghan’s complexion is quite soft with an ivory, peachy hue. This is further emphasized by her long, wavy hair. Her hair is auburn in color which blends into shades of red and burgundy under different light sources.
The Past
Main Traits: Wary. Dismissive. Snarky. Ambitious. Determined.
Likes: Freedom. Organization. Animals. Her job. Stability. Money. Professionalism.
Dislikes: Boredom. People. Her hometown. Herself. Pirates. Extortion. Being seen as weak.
Unique laugh: aah hahahaha
Hometown: Toroa [West Blue]
Personality: Due to her unfortunate upbringing, Meghan is someone who has let her past define who she is today. Her way of handling situations is quite peculiar as she sees them as nothing more than simple transactions. For her, life is to give or to take. Anything else would be a waste of time. In other words, if there is no potential benefit, she could care less. As such, she is not someone who easily takes pity on a person nor would she help out of the goodness of her heart. Unless they can provide something of equal measure, she would leave them to their demise. That is, of course, unless they are small animals in need of aid or a home. However, to those that Meghan calls friends, she treats them kindly and offers her support whenever possible.
Ironically, she is devoted to her life as a doctor. This stems from her passion towards her craft. When immersed, Meghan tends to block everything out until she finds what it is she was looking for. This can lead her to remain secluded in her office for multiple days. During this time, her coworkers are the ones who take over her clinic until Meghan is ready to come back. While at work, Meghan will do what is necessary to provide aid. Of course, they also tend to be her paying customers. Every once in a while, however, there are times when she finds herself in a situation where those who cannot pay are found under her knife. During these times, they are offered alternative payments - their lives. This, of course, only means that they will work for her until their debts are paid off. She, however, will adamantly deny that she meant any good will with the offer.
- History:
“Whether I become a bringer of Life or Death, so be it. But I will only do so for a price.”
When they first heard that they were expecting, Meghan’s parents were beyond thrilled. They had dreams and they knew that, regardless of the baby’s gender, the infant would be the one to help them achieve it. Therefore, in order to secure their ambitions early on, they began to prepare and set up a stage for them to partake in. Thus, in their illusion of grandeur, her parents visited the chief to strike up a deal. To most, the chief was a man who had been widowed so many years ago and had never remarried. It seemed as if it were a sense of loyalty to his dead wife but, to her parents, it was their golden opportunity and they would do whatever they could to get a hold of it. After all, everyone had a price. “She’ll be a fine one, I just know it!” They had promised. “She’ll be the epitome of perfection!” Outlandish promises and awful remarks but they were desperate. It was their way out of poverty and they would secure it by any means necessary. The chief would finally nod in agreement. “Then so be it. I expect nothing but the best.” From that point on, it would be done.
When Meghan was born, her parents were the happiest couple alive. The promise they had made with the chief had been that a girl would be born and she was. “Even the gods are on our side,” they would proclaim. “We are indeed blessed!” It helped that their little girl was beautiful and they were all the more ecstatic. She would be worth more, after all. As soon as she could walk, however, her training would begin. Growing up, Meghan lived under the shadow of her Mother and Father. They would be the ones to mold Meghan into someone that she was not. It was their way of showing love and the little girl believed them. However, instead of being cared for in a loving and nurturing home, Meghan was tormented and shamed. Her freedom was also limited and her friends were none so as to curb her desire for independence. Her parents wanted a living doll and, after years of constant abuse, they got their wish. After all, resistance was futile for the young child and, even if she did escape, she had nowhere else to go.
When Meghan reached an age where she would be deemed presentable, her parents arranged a meeting with the chief. She would soon meet her future husband and her fears consumed her. She never wanted the life her parents wished for her but what good would it do now? All she wanted to do was escape her living nightmare but she did not know how. The day would finally arrive quicker than she had anticipated. The chief was a man whose age surpassed her own by forty years but, like the puppet she was made to be, she would simply smile a half-cringe smile and curtsy. She had no choice. She had been conditioned for that moment and to disobey would bring grave consequences. The chief would walk slow and calculated circles around her as her parents watched on. Meghan, however, fervently prayed for the ground to open up and swallow her whole. The chief would murmur and she would be consumed with disgust. As the chief inspected her, he would nod to himself and smile. Dread would soon wash over her. He had accepted her. It was done.
The last bit of freedom was taken from Meghan as wedding preparations began to take place. She was still too young but her parents, to no one's surprise, had consented. It would be held in a couple years and, while the village celebrated, Meghan only wanted to disappear. All alone and waiting to what she felt was her death, she immersed herself in the world of books. Her favorites, however, were those on medicine and human anatomy as they gave her a sense of purpose. It was knowledge that most did not have and she lived for it. When word finally spread that Meghan had a gift, the chief would arrange for his future bride-to-be to practice in the open. Meghan, however, did not care much but she readily accepted her newfound freedom with open arms. There, she began to experience life as she never had before. Meghan began to open up and, for a while, life was bearable. She immersed herself into the world of medicine and learned her trade well. It was something that was hers and hers alone. No one could take it away from her. It was her escape.
One day, however, a newcomer would arrive at the village. Bloodied and bruised, he was taken to her clinic where she would help provide aid. The lad, not much older than her, would pique Meghan’s interest and the two would become fast friends. For the span of a few months, Meghan learned more about the world than she ever had in years. The boy would tell her stories of the world outside of her own and she would absorb it. She, in turn, taught him medicine. The villagers, however, grew concerned about the amount of time and attention Meghan paid the lad. Gossip would quickly spread like a wildfire. It wasn’t until it reached the ears of her parents and the chief that trouble would arise for Meghan and her friend. Meghan awoke one day to angry voices outside of her room. She tiptoed silently from her bed and pressed her ear against the door’s cold frame in hopes of finding out what had happened. There, she overheard her parent’s frantic attempts to pacify the chief. They promised to take care of the lad permanently only if they were given another chance.
Meghan’s blood would run cold as the chief agreed. So long as it was seen as an accident, he would consider keeping the arrangement. There was a rustle and Meghan rushed back to bed. The following morning, she greeted the lad coldy. She hoped that he would take the hint and leave her alone. He, however, continued to press until she broke down and told him of the plot. She pressee money into his hands and begged him to go. For, if he stayed, he would not have long to live. After much persuading, he would eventually agree only if she were to accompany him as well. Meghan would become troubled and a mixture of emotions would consume her. On one hand, it was freedom but, on the other, she would be facing the unknown. The unknown terrified her and, yet, she decided to take the plunge. She had much more to lose if she stayed and so, with newfound determination, she made the decision to run away. The two would go their separate ways with the promise of meeting up at their favorite spot later that night.
Throughout the day, Meghan began to prepare her things. She took only what was necessary and planned her escape route accordingly. As night fell, Meghan grabbed her things and escaped. Her heart would pound and her spirit soared. Soon, she would be free. Fate, however, had different plans. She would approach their meeting spot quietly and, as there were no signs of him, she waited for the lad to arrive. Time would pass and Meghan grew restless. The lad never showed and worry filled the girl. The minutes would stretch into hours before Meghan took the final decision to leave. It would soon be daybreak and she could not wait any longer. With her bags in hand, she stole away into the wilderness in hopes of starting her life anew. She felt betrayed but she knew that she had always been alone. He was obviously no different. Time would go on and Meghan grew up to start her own practice. She learned the ways of the world and she loved it. She swore to never again be chained again and she would do whatever it took to make it so.

It was, after all, their own fault that the people suffered.
- Side Story:
