He is known mostly for covering his strange modified "flight-suit" like jump-suit with his iconic trench-coat. It has a series of straps with buckles containing silver prongs and frames. The coat often opens towards the crotch and branches outwards as to not restrict the movement of the lower body. The plum colored coat also has his crew's emblem emblazoned on the back of it overlapping what appears to be a larger heart that outlines it. Large plumes of black feathers adorn the shoulders and back of the neck of the coat itself. Several large rings of silver also seem to showcase themselves around the wrist and forearms of the coat. He doesn't often wear anything that covers his eyes such as shades or glasses and he never wears anything that would compromise or obstruct his hair. He doesn't wear necklaces since he finds them to be obtrusive to his focus and he lacks any attachment to most pieces of jewelry beyond his rings. He doesn't like having piercings so he lacks those as well, finding them to be extra targets for people to focus on with specific abilities he theorizes to exist.
Detailed Description: Brood's head is of a moderate ratio to his body, never being too large or too small to be noticeable enough for a comment. He has smaller than average ears that are angled back slightly and are of a moderate size as well. His nose is slender and centered slightly higher on his face allowing for his chin to be slightly pointed in its appearance. He has rather slender lips which he inherited from his mother's side of the family. His eyebrows are somewhat chaotic and jagged, unkempt and unruly though lacking the quantity to be defined as bushy. He lacks facial hair due to his genetics, being unable to properly grow a beard or even stubble for that matter, which allows him to retain a rather youthful appearance. His hair from his cranium is much of the same as his eyebrows, being a eerie white, however it is capable of growing out down to his shoulders if he doesn't keep it trimmed or controlled. His eyes are are also a cross between hazel and green in color, each accented by scars he received in his past.
His body is similar to a lot of other living persons in his profession as he displays both a high level of lean body mass as well as high muscle mass. He is slender by all accounts, his pectorals slightly puffy due to his highly active lifestyle and he has rather define curves on his biceps that hint that he has a pension for heavy lifting. Having base-ball sized muscles when flexing his biceps. He isn't an Adonis by any means but he does keep his body in shape. He sports a reasonable set of six abdominal muscles despite his slenderness but none of the particular elements of his physicality are on display while wearing garbs. On his back there are a series of highly jagged scars indicating the man was whipped at some point in his past, these being the only scars that seem to be evident on his body upon further inspection, if you do not count the two marks on his face. His calves and thighs are defined as well and his shins are sturdy. He has reasonably sized hands and feet neither being too large or too small, his feet being fourteen inches long given his height.
The Past
Main Traits: Observant, Loyal, Taciturn, Deranged, Impulsive
Likes: Destruction, Oshiri, Candy, Nakama, Cute Things, Bloodshed, Commitment
Dislikes: Cowardice, Self-Righteousness, Arrogance, Disrespectful Persons, Vegetables, Self-Pity, Weak-Mindedness
Hometown: Spindly Point, Spider Miles
Personality: Although the man is not of an intimidating look or stature, the mind of the menace known as Brood has routinely displayed a creative plethora of horrendous secrets and thoughts that have formed not only the core ideology of this man, but have formed the very nuances of his habits and quirks. As a being who has always existed in a world steeped in crime, he has come to appreciate the act of banditry and the philosophy that the strong conqueror the weak. He has recently decided that the only way to showcase in full his dedication to this belief was to create his own crew. Though it seems as though this might be an excuse to dissuade himself from feeling as though his actions are unjustified, he really does believe that he is capable of taking many of the opportunities that the world has to offer and utilizing them to further his goals. Those goals being the ones that are indicative of his lust for power, as through power he feels that he can achieve "happiness". After-all, only the strong deserve to be happy.
His carelessness and reckless abandon for the lives of humans stems from a dark place inside the heart of the man, but he is not a monster hiding in dainty garb. He is capable of showcasing a large amount of generosity, trust and compassion for his comrades because they serve a force greater than themselves similar to himself and that force he serves is wealth. Which he has put a great amount of faith into as a man who feels his emotions in strong fashion. The magnitude in which he finds himself becoming aligned with a person and their cause varies greatly on how intense they seem to clash with his own beliefs. He isn't a complicated or mysterious man like his outwards appearance suggests, but there is a sense of unknown with him due to how little he interacts with those around him on a regular basis. Opting to keep up a visage of a strong and silent defender. Despite how ruthless and volatile he happens to be. He is however very much human and showcases these aspects of his personality on a basis he chooses, sometimes more frequently than others.
Given his background he has an abhorrence towards those whom find themselves to be the end-all be-all in terms of morality. He feels strongly that at the root of all person's personalities there is a primal wild-blooded savagery that can be unlocked if a person is pushed far enough. He feels that for another person to judge others based on how large or small that capacity is ultimately makes the act redundant. He despises those who lack the willpower to change the circumstances thrust upon them, feeling no mercy for slaves, abused person or others he perceives as weak. This is due to the harsh upbringing he endured in his homeland, however there were benefits to molding himself to survive those conditions. He lives his life without the burden of regrets, secretly finding cute things to affect him based on his crush on a super-star level pirate in his youth and he rather enjoys the female form in specific ways, causing him to not be a lecherous oaf, though the thought occasionally crosses his mind in specific [oshiri related] circumstances. He isn't humorless or stoic, capable of showcasing emotion though usually smirking.
- History:
Despite the savagery of those who lived in port town of Spindly Point, Brood never seemed phased by it. He was raised by a long line of butchers who spent a majority of their time hunting down the wildlife of the plains nearby to keep themselves in business, serving their meat to locals and visitors who came into port for business. The high crime rate of the town itself never got to the young man as he was either butchering whatever they hunted down or hunting whatever they were going to butcher. Day in and day out until the very notion of hunting became second nature to the young lad. From the time he was old enough to walk to the time he was well into his eighth year. His life never veered from this one singular truth. Until the day the port town came under siege by a minor pirate outfit known as the Green Tea Pirates. Ransacking and pillaging the town it forced the young man to escape on his parent's orders. He made a valiant effort to obey his parents, making his way to an area of the island known as the waste processing plant.
It was here that he found himself coming into contact with the first true criminal element that would help shape the young man's philosophy, a man who was grizzled and chiseled to the point in which he looked like a tower of muscle. His name was Datto Azernaw, a large burly and surly man whom wielded a great ax and commanded a gang of criminals who operated out of the area. Originally planning to just kill the boy before he could disclose their location, he heard the young male out when he noticed that Brood was distraught more so than anything. After hearing about the pillaging of the town, Datto found himself overjoyed with the potential gains he could acquire by liberating the town and sought out the pirates with his own gang in tow. Eventually beating back the pirates he was capable of forming a racket in the port town, thanking Brood and allowing him a place on his crew once it was discovered that the young male's parents were already taken off island along with a lot of others to be sold into slavery.
It was under the tutelage of this bandit that he found a lot of his own ideals and beliefs forming. He trusted these men with his life, wanting nothing more than to prove to them that he was useful. Often using his own skills with butchering to dispatch of "evidence" after the initial traumatizing realization of his actions found itself wearing off. For the next few years, until he was thirteen years in fact, he existed with minimal combat training under his belt. Finally being showed the methods for properly using a sword and an ax by some of his peers while serving under the gang's banner. Their influencing gaining the attention of rivals from all over Spider Miles, giving the youth a plethora of fighting opportunities while business continued to operate as usual for the whole of the island. Perhaps to outsiders looking in, these events were so minuscule that they'd be nothing more than a tiny bleep on a tiny radar, but for Brood they were vivid and visceral experiences that helped him lose his stigma towards discerning intelligent life from the unintelligent.
By the time he was fifteen years of age, he fancied himself a rather skilled swordsman, showcasing a side of his personality that he rarely showcased before. Indifference. He found himself distancing himself from the gang after they showed that they lacked any ambition to expand their network. This contentment to mediocrity allowed the young up and coming pirate to despise his nakama, making himself scarce from their meetings despite remaining loyal to the group. At least until the man with two rapiers arrived on the island. He didn't ever get a chance to learn the man's name and to this day all he remembered was that the man looked extremely intimidating. [He looks like Kaito Wanijima from Air Gear.] The man arrived to the island and identified himself as a bounty hunter, attacking the gang with ruthless aggression dispatching them in a flourishing display of skill and savagery on levels that were once not thought humanly possible. He only wanted specific people alive, leaving a good portion of the gang maimed or lifeless.
The event held significance for Brood as he was one of the first people to encounter the bounty hunter, fighting him and realizing that his black rapier was actually a snake-based zoan, something the young man didn't know, until he had already found his face scarred by both slashes of the rapiers to his eyes. When he toppled over in a crumpled heap from his quick defeat the sadistic hunter began to whip at the man numerous times on his back, until the gang would attempt to come and rescue him. By the time that Brood found himself awake the gang was no more. A large portion of them were either put to death by the rest of the town's folk or fled the eventual lynching. Brood only managed to find himself not put to death due to the fact that he was defeated by the pier, body falling into the water before he found himself completely killed by the bounty hunter. Realizing that he had to leave the island, he hitched a ride on a merchant ship offering them protection. Sailing with them for awhile before stumbling upon a strange fruit and eating it.
The eventual shock of seeing people he saw as innocent turn into monsters when the opportunity presented himself and watching his nakama so savagely brutalized by those who he thought were incapable of the act poisoned his mind, while the fruit seemingly poisoned his body. Discovering from his new found merchant friend that he had seemed to eat a Devil fruit, he spent the next three years honing his skills with his devil fruit, traversing the North Blue and beyond to discover the secrets of these mysterious fruits that he found to be fascinatingly potent. His mind focused only on the face of the man who spurred his life into this chaotic mess that it had become, wanting nothing more than to find and kill the bounty hunter with his own two hands. Over the course of this time he found that his powers were very desirable to unruly types and he formed a crew of pirates known as the Sweet Beet Pirates. With this crew under his control he and his compatriots went around the North Blue and found themselves responsible for an event known as the Three Catastrophes.
In order to draw out the bastard who had taken everything from him, he had to make himself a greater target. He achieved his first stint of fame when he returned to his home-town of Spindly Point and with his crew in tow began to raise the island in an onslaught that was considered horrific by the standards of most marines. The level in which he mercilessly butchered, ransacked, and razed his home island was beyond anything that people had seen before. To Brood it was a means to an end, as he didn't have an emotional connection to those he once was shunned by. But it was on this island that his first signature sign was left, which allowed people to attribute the atrocities he preformed. Finding the governor of his home island he ambushed the man with and took him to the center of town square, brutally beating the man before he crucified him on a candy cane, along with several marine officers who happened to be stationed on the island, they had left Spindly Point and went on a crusade. Leaving those crucified men to bleed out slowly by the time anyone came to investigate it was clear that the SB Pirates were responsible for the chaos. But it would only get worse from there. Even though eventually the town recovered. This was called the Spindly Point Massacre.
The Clash of Rakesh happened to be the second of the Catastrophes. When the SB Pirates arrived to the island the only task they had in mind was dominating the populace and subjugating the person there to mine for a surplus of sugar that Brood was led to believe existed there. While he personally did not need the Sugar for his own powers, he wanted it so that he could have his flag-ship modified to fit the theme of crew. When his crew was getting ready to assault the island he enlisted the aid of several smaller crews so that fighting the marine opposition would not be as much of a issue. His plan paid off despite both sides suffering a large amount of casualties during the process, Brood himself being taken out of the war midway through the fight after he got intercepted by a rather skilled Marine Commodore. Despite his own defeat however his people won the numbers game forcing the marines to retreat as his men looted the island and made out like bandits, his close friend Jeremiah Mumbles, loyally bringing him back aboard the ship. This so called clash of Rakesh allotted the male to realize that his crew was one that he would never be able to exist without. But that in and of itself was a cause for concern.
The Burial of Notice, was the final of the three Catastrophes and the worst of the atrocities that were committed by the SB pirates, which led to their eventual downfall some months after. The island of Notice is known for its wealth in the North Blue and it was made a distinct point that this was not acceptable to the leader of arguably one of the most dangerous crews at that time. In order to fund an expedition to Paradise he needed to liberate some funds from the island, which he dubbed as his own personal bank. Due to his actions on Rakesh a large contingent of marines were sent from this island to assist with the regrouping of that island, which led to the surprise assault from the SB Pirates and their few remaining islands. To the allies the attack on Rakesh was nothing more than a distraction for this bigger fish, unaware of what that battle was. Due to exploiting this ignorance Brood and his alliance were able to assault Notice in one grand invasion, leading to the death of their current leader and the escape of the SB Pirates fairly early on in the assault. This didn't stop the townsfolk for mistaking the actions of the allied crews for being attributed to Brood however, and his place was sealed. The most causalities of any of the three catastrophes happened here, though the exact numbers aren't known.
His crew had finally gained enough recognition to be known as one of the worst crews in this generation, effectively attributing a vast amount of the crimes to their leader which earned him recognition but not enough to be named a supernova. His brutality being known throughout his blue and spilling out towards some of the others, his fame had grown to such a point that he lured his fated enemy out of the waters only to have his entire crew decimated and having himself launched into the sea where he was picked up and rescued by a young crew of scavengers who took him safely to the king of Lvneel. It was here that he found himself recuperating off the radar, with many assuming that he had died during his scuffle with the man that sent his crew to the bottom of the sea. During this time he would meet up with two people who would come to be very important to him. A female who had the voice of an angel by the name of Sasha and a man who was smart enough to know how to amass a fortune in a small amount of time known as Larry. Together with these two entities he formed a new crew, one that he had never thought would gain traction, but it didn't take long before he and the two others found themselves painting a target on their backs.
The Assault on Montblanc Kingdom became his claim to fame almost as fast as the three Catastrophes that had allowed him to propel into infamous status within the North Blue. It was perhaps not the smartest move for someone to try and pull off, but a man like Brood was considered the last person to challenge to any sort of stupidity contest, especially since he was as stubborn as a bull. He knew that his crew needed funds so that they could truly establish themselves, so with the aid of a few hired hands he launched a full-scale raid all across the island. Using the diversion to split up the defensive forces on the island so that he could break into several key locations, taking objects of value that he would use later to secure a tidy profit. He was of course stopped by several opponents who were seemingly bothersome at the time, but it was the fact that he had to deal with fighting three of these notable defenders, officers whom were completely and utterly skilled at their respective weaponry, that allowed for this event to be significant. Despite being overwhelmed by their coordinated attacks on him, the advent of his Conquer's Haki was something that allowed him just enough time to leave one of them dead before he could flee the island.
The Lynching of the North Star Pirates was perhaps the second most notable event in his recent career. After his fame skyrocketed from the boldness of challenging the dangerously skilled officers that protected the island of Lvneel and surviving the encounter, man up-and-coming pirates from across the North Blue flocked to join his crew. But the North Star pirates chose to stand in the way of his rapidly growing group, causing a miniature war to spark between the two forces, on Minion Island no less. This war led to many casualties on both sides of the coin, with Brood losing many of his men in the onslaught against the other prominent crew from the North Blue. But in the end it was the candy-man who stood atop the corpses of those who went against him. Boiling the enemy captain alive in liquid sugar in display of everyone on Minion Island and giving a sermon like speech indicating that those who would follow him would be led to riches, while those who opposed him were nothing more than slabs of meat for consumption. From the shadows a figure emerged, a woman by the name of Jeremiah Mumbles, revealing that she had survived the downfall of the original crew. She'd use her clinic to tend to the wounded here before joining up with the crew.
The New Era was fast approaching and that meant that new players had to enter the ring. As the old era came to a close, several names came to the forefront of infamy. Brood was one of the few at the top of that totem pole. His name appearing alongside the likes of Laurel O’Halloran, Sesshomaru Kento and even Nathaniel Thorne. There were others as well, but as these few became known as Supernova only one of them was an absolute monster. He knew that there were absolute monsters showing their faces in the Marines, the Revolutionary Army and in other shadowy factions as well. In order to live the life that Brood felt he absolutely needed too, he was going to have to amass a fortune so staggering and legendary that it could rival whatever this so called One Piece happened to be. He had no desire to capture the object to amass his fame, but rather to become famous without having to rely on the object, whatever it was. Given how With blood staining his pristine snow white hair, Brood would not allow for his own fame to diminish. With his crew growing at an ever steady pace and his crimes escalating from island to island, he knew that he wanted to take his time before entering the so called Paradise. North Blue would be brought to it's knees by his hands and god have mercy on any who got in his way.

Eventually he found himself crossing paths with a person whom seemed to have a level of strength that he found irresistible. Pledging himself to serving underneath them so long as he was allowed to eventually take the time to track down the man who caused him such strife and turmoil.

Brood X. Bach wrote:Brood Xaldin Bach
Basic Character Information
Starting Bonus: Super Rookie & One In A Million | [Starting Bonus Roll]
First Name: Brood
Middle Name/Initial: Xaldin
Last Name: Bach
Epithet: Tooth-Decay
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Faction: Pirate
Affiliation: Primetime Pirates
Position: Captain
Profession: Experienced Tracker & Butcher
Physical Appearance
Height: 6' 3" ft
Weight: 190 lbs
Hair Style: Unkempt, Spiky
Hair Color: Snowflake "Ghost" White
Eye Color: Hazel-Green
Scars: Identical slashes over his eyes.
Clothing and Accessories: Typically found wearing a vast assortment of clothing that all share a similar hue of dark purple. He wears a lot of suits now over his flight-suit and under the trench coat. He also sports a grey bowler hat.
He also wears a pair of black combat-boots with golden laces and silver eaglets. He typically is seen wearing jet black gloves and he seems to also have a series of gold rings he wears over the gloves as well. For a man with the kind of personality that Brood has, he allows himself to often wear extremely flashy clothing when in a more casual setting, loving to wear expensive clothing he has liberated from other persons.
